    GUARANTEED STAR FRAGMENT FARMING
    (1 Every 5-7 Min!)
In this guide we show you how to farm star fragments. This method is reliable, repeatable, and guaranteed!
This method was perfected by Reddit user GeneralSkywalkerSolo. Check out his original post: / guide_foolproof_star_f...
The way this method works is knowing the mechanics of what triggers a star fragment to fall. Those mechanics are:
    1. It has to be a full moon
    2. It has to be between 9:30 PM and 2:00 AM
    3. The fragment will fall in your field of view, so stand still and don't move the camera

Note for the people that already have wood, an upgraded stealth set for the extra movement speed, and a flame weapon: skip to 6:30 where the actual method begins.

I found a great spot to farm Star Fragments that is super easy. The only monsters I have encountered are the ones that randomly spawn at night and you can just run right past them.
I've already obtained over 20 and this works nearly 100% of the time, every night.
I've only had it not work twice. Once when it was downpouring so hard that you couldn't see very far and the night after that (possible reset issue?).
1.) Gather up a bunch of wood and your favorite way to light it (I use the Flameblade).
2.) Teleport to the Great Plateau Tower. I picked this spot based on the overworld map and what I thought would have the least amount of mountains and water. Also, you need no special gear against cold or heat.
3.) Start a fire under the canopy of the tower (to avoid any rain).
4.) Wait until noon. This is necessary to reset the spawn timer on the Star Fragment.
    5.) Wait until night.
6.) Go to the edge of the tower facing Hyrule Field.
7.) Adjust your field of view so that the Castle is on the left edge of the screen.
8.) Wait and a Star Fragment will fall close to Riverside Stable.)
9.) Run to the Stable, hop on a horse and ride to the Star Fragment. The amount of time to run to the stable for a horse is more than made up by the speed boost the horse gives you....or you can just run on foot.
10.) Start at number 2 and repeat.
    Happy Star Fragment farming!

Alternatively, you can head to the highest point on Dueling Peaks and do it there instead, making sure that Hyrule Castle is roughly on the right side of the screen. I don’t THINK it rains there, but maybe it just didn’t happen to me in the time that I was doing it. I sat there 16 nights and got 15 fragments which I then used to upgrade some armor

If you stand on Cottla and Koko's mother's tall monument just outside Kakariko village from 9pm to 3 am any night, any moon except blood moon, you will have a star fragment fall close enough to a shrine

  • @teroblepuns
    @teroblepuns 5 лет назад +8

Forget the moon, here is a faster way:
    1. Place a campfire on Dueling Peaks. Equip a Flame Blade or warm clothes as it is cold up there. The campfire might warm you. Placing the Travel Medallion next to the Korok will let you instantly teleport to the highest point.
    2. Wait until morning.
    3. Wait until night.
    4. Look to the north-west with Hyrule Castle being in the right third of the screen. Lake Hylia will be off-scren to the left.
    5. Wait until you see a shooting star.
    6. Use the Sheikah Slate to mark the impact location.
    6. Fast travel to the closest shrine or tower to the impact position possible and collect your prize.
    7. Repeat.

For anyone who doesn't want to spend 19 minutes waiting for this guy to explain what actually needs to be done, with my commentary in brackets:
    1. Wait for it to be a full moon phase. (This one actually doesn't matter, I've seen falling stars regardless of moon phase.)
    2. Get to Shee Vaneer at/before nighttime and look towards the Hateno Tower. (To be fair, this is the most convenient location to look from since you can see practically everywhere. I can agree with this.)
    3. Wait until a star falls, cause they always fall in the area you're looking towards (so looking at a landmark limits it to being somewhat near the landmark).
    4. (This one's all me, but pin the approximate location the star fell on your minimap so you can easily find where to teleport to. Sometimes it falls closer to a different landmark, like a shrine, making it more convenient to teleport there - pinning the star makes it easier to know if that's the case. Having a pin on the minimap also helps you find approximately where to look just in case you can't see the pillar of light they emit.)
    5. Get over there as quick as you can, which generally means 'by way of the landmark you were looking at'. (Kind of speaks for itself, though IIRC star fragments don't despawn until the next blood moon unlike most other items which vanish as soon as you load a different area. If you don't kill much, you're generally going to be safe for a while.)
There we go, that probably took you less time to read, including commentary, than it took this guy to explain where Kakariko Village is.
PS. I think one of the Bokoblin chests has a Star Fragment in as well, but I forget which one. If you find it, put a stamp there and come back after every blood moon.
Alternatively, Silver Lynels can drop them as well - if you kill enough Lynels, eventually every Lynel except the one near Zora's Domain will be a Silver, with the one in the Colisseum Ruins being the first one. They're hard as hell to fight, but it's easy to remember where they are.
You don't need many Star Fragments throughout the game - I think the only good use for them is armor upgrades, and to fully upgrade all the non-Amiibo armor sets I think you only ever need 14 which is easy enough to do if you keep the ones from quests. And if you do want to include all the Amiibo armor sets, just scan Amiibo - every Zelda Amiibo has a fair chance of having a Star Fragment in the chest, and you can save-reset to guarantee yourself a Star Fragment. So that's a Star Fragment per day from each Zelda (or Smash Ganondorf) Amiibo you own.

Your edited synopsis is light years better than your original post. Thanks for taking the time to update it. B-) Although, I have yet to see 1 falling star in the game without using this method, so I can't verify seeing one during any of the moon phases.

  • @SwiftStruthio
    @SwiftStruthio 7 лет назад +140

It actually works on any moon phase, every night. I've gotten 12 in a row just saving and exiting the game after every drop. Had two drop on the same night after opening the game and loading my save. Although that was very rare RNG, one can drop every night. After a save / close app.

Great method. I’ve managed to get all star fragments I was looking for. With a twist. So, at the first week, I’ve asked Hino what was the moon for the night everyday so that I’d get acquainted with the cicle. At the 13th day moon, he told me instead he was getting that feeling that something was going to happen, indicating a blood moon. I was not sure it was not the full moon (since I was testing the cicle) and went to the spot. And a little pass midnight I see the shooting star. The next day I ask Hino again, what the moon is, and he says it is a full moon. So I go back to the spot and bam another star fragment. This may indicate that the shooting star happens at blood moons as well as full moons. Either that or I got real lucky. Anyway. Thing for the guide. Very helpfull

Awesome tips, but I have a suggestion.
When you do your first full moon, if you own your own house in Hateno you can sit by the fire there. Count out 8 times sleeping by the fire to change the day and you'll be back to a full moon. This saves on checking in the Dueling Stables and it rains there a lot putting out the fire.
Once you count out 8 days, it will be a full moon and you can just warp to the top of the peaks and then follow this awesome method of looking east at Hateno. This saves you also on flame blades and firewood.

so it seems to me you could just make it night at the stable, then quickly warp to that shrine, since it takes another 30 seconds to hit nine-thirty and that's more than enough time to get to the shrine and look at the right area. wouldnt need wood and fire at all.

Hey man, tough to see all the hate on the length of the vid. Not that I don't agree with them, a clean and nicely edited tutorial is my favourite kind. Thanks for all the info and thanks to the commenters too for more info 👍

Idk if you figured this out by now but when ever I'm farming with a self made fire I light again it before I leave so that it doesn't disappear. It's a small bit of information but it helps to know.

NIce tutorial. But all you need to do is have fire wood and something to light it with. Also bring cold resistance.
    Travel to Shee Vaneer Shrine.
Light fire on wood and sit til night. wait for star to fall.
Watch star fall and pick up star.
    Save. Exit game and repeat
(after picking up star if time is still before 3am go and wait for another drop. Doesn't matter the moon phase or gear or weapon crap.

You can trade monster parts to Kilton to get the Dark Armor set, which also grants the night speed up boost without having to upgrade the clothes at all. For the Sheikah set you need to do 6 total upgrades.

Cool video man. I hear I need these for some armor later in the game so I went and got 15 for when I get the chance. I normally run a good luminous stone route after every third blood moon and end up with about 150-160 stones every run. With other stones I pick up during game play I can make 15k-17k rupees and that's more then enough to get whatever you want. I have 70 shrines, 90 korok seeds and two divine beasts beat as if 8/13/17 and only been playing for 5 days now.

The Labyrinth Island to the Northeast of Akkala Ancient Technology Laboratory also has a Great Flameblade that's easier to get to, in my opinion; clear the shrine, then warp to it, take the stairs to the right going down and follow the path until you reach a loft heading up blocked by thorns. Burn the thorns with fire, climb up the loft, and follow that path to a Great Flameblade that will consistently reappear when the game resets after each Blood Moon. You could easily collect two, if need be, by also collecting the sword in this, but the journey to the sword in the labyrinth has no enemies, is a short trip, and easy to find.

a fun alternative way that you can get star fragments later on after beating ganon you can fight silver Lynels and they can have a chance to drop 1 or 2 star fragments and if none drop you can load a pre kill save and keep killing them till you finally get some, think in the colosseum if you beat all 4 divine beasts a silver lynle also shows up

You can get a star fragment any night but a blood moon. Look out over Hyrule Field from the Great Plateau tower is easier, no climbing. Just put the castle on the very left edge of the screen. It usually falls close to Riverside stable.

    • @kobe4521
      @kobe4521 3 года назад

It worked, thanks! It did fall near the stable (first star fragment). I just started a camp fire on the tower, sat till morning then sat again for night. Then as soon as I looked at the direction you mentioned, a fragment fell (second fragment). Then I sat at camp fire again and I got my third fragment near Central Tower. Good thing I re-order the comments to newest. Thanks for your help. o(^▽^)o
You need lots of wood to pull this off every night.

Doesn't have to be a full moon. Much faster to use a campfire, set to night, fast travel to high point, and save. Exit the game and relaunch. Get the fragment and repeat. Faster than counting days. I have my amiibo sets maxed out.

By using the camera or the scope your view is narrowed. Does doing this diminish the area a star fragment can spawn?

    > get shiekah/dark link armor
    > use hino to check for a full moon and pass time until then
    > sit on duelling peaks during the full moon
    > face east as they will be seen most easily that way
    > note: stars only fall from 930 - 2 am
WHY DID THIS BULLSHIT TAKE 20 MINUTES TO EXPLAIN FUCK ME THE METHOD ITSELF TAKES LESS THAN 5

    • @LordOfGoons
      @LordOfGoons 6 лет назад +2

You don’t have to wait for a blood moon.
You just go to the top if dueling peeks where the koror is.
      Set up a campfire
Sleep till morning and then sleep till night and there is high possibility it will drop.
It fell 26/30 times for me.

Am I imagining things or did I just see a falling star in a new moon night with clear sky? ("sunny" weather and clear vision throughout entire Hyrule) I wonder if the clear sky is the requirement that needs to be met.

  • @JJHcars

They VERY FIRST time I tried this had the great flame blade , wood, went to location not worried about moon cycle. Made campfire BTW enemies spawn right away lol. Then looked and made my red dot and boom at 930 star fragment dropped right below hateno tower! Made blue dot. Fast traveled and collected. Going back for my second try
2nd try I did save about 8 times BUT! I sat until morning then sat until night like another video suggested also said it could fall as late as 3qm. Let's see what happens 3rd time about 7th moon cycle. This time I saved and loaded save to see what would happen with 4th try

  • @KairuHakubi

I found out an even easier way, you warp to the plateau tower, climb up on the lip, get your camera so the left edge is just touching the castle, and a star will fall pretty quickly very close to one of those two very close together stables. sometimes it falls in the river, but these are super fast spots to get to
what's more, I found out you have to change time to noon before you change it to night, in order to reset the star-get thing

in my experience, it Doesnt have to be a full moon...ive been farming StarFrags EVERY night; i just warp to Dueling Peaks, and scan the horizon (somewhat facing Calamity Castle) until i see one drop...i shiekah-scope it, warp to the nearest shrine, pick it up, and warp back to Dueling Tower; build a campfire to wait til noon, then wait til night, and Boom another star spawns That Night...

I actually had the fragment falling in the same place every time, and had more than one at a time. This was months ago and cant quite remember exactly what it was I was doing, but there is a way. I promise you. not sure if it makes a difference, but it happened on/around death mountain.
