Something a friend told me and I can't unsee especially during Trunks intro scene: Future Trunks is basically a fanfic character, let me explain. -He comes out of nowhere -easily defeat the strongest bad to date (which somehow suvived his fight with the main character) -using the same special ability unique to the mc until then -he has a dark (some will say edgy) backstory -he's the son of 2 character whose ship was non existant at that point (canonically speaking) -He has a sword, despite no serously strong character in this ever used one (up until that point), just because it makes him more badass -To make everything work out he's from the future

8:40 i always felt at least in the DBZA canon, the reason the technique was forbidden is because they didnt do fusion correctly and it would cause multiple personalities or at least schizophrenia as we see with Piccolo. I think the reason it's forbidden is the Namekians are a very small species numbers-wise (there's only about a hundred of them on their world) and they all are born by the elder, so fusing further reducing their already very small numbers. Also, they're not a race of warriors, they have no need for it.

Lani’s Popo is legend… he somehow makes the character perfectly sound like he’s about to mockingly laugh at anything and everything. Episode 32 is probably the one I’ve rewatched the most times; you guys are legends.
When you think about it, Krillin's libido has been a big part of his character from the beginning. His first line in the series is "boobs." It didn't come up much in season 2 except on the ship and then in the cave, but season 3 is where this aspect of his personalty is fully explored and factors into the plot with his refusal to blow up Android 18. He sort of changes from just being a horndog to being a genuine romantic, and his slapdown in episode 31 is I think the catalyst to focusing more on romance and substance over pure aesthetics. It's good writing.
I swear the scene in dragonball super superhero where they show piccolo in his house is a direct response to all these jokes and nothing will convince me otherwise
Ep. 33 is maybe my favorite episode in the entire series. Trunks just gets to be so badass and so dorky and Mecha Frieza is so fun and King Cold gets to be this smug posh Old Money daddy and you have the VEGETA SHIRT JOKES and the TIEN JOKES and everyone FUCKING NAILS THEIR PERFORMANCES AAAAGH it's SO GOOD.
The mini arc with Marron in the actual show had easily my favorite but also most out of nowhere scenes where her, yajirobe, and korrin were playing strip poker and yajirobe was clearly losing cause he was just sitting there in only his fundoshi.
Maybe a Dub thing, but I think Yajirobe asks Korin why they are losing when Korin can read minds. Korin says he can't read Marron's mind FOR SOME REASON. (She stupid)

Not really confirmed, there was one off remark about Cold being Frieza's only parent but not really specified if that means Cold Birthed him or Cold was the only one to take care of him as a parent. They are also mutants of their race so we don't even know how their race even functions anyway when all you ever see are two of them who are apparently highly mutated and evil on their own. It would be like saying all Namekians are like the first ones we see with Demon King Piccolo and his mutated off spring before Piccolo Jr. was born.
TBF, I don't think we've ever seen the ceiling of Roshi's power. I think him ducking out during the King Piccolo arc was more about trauma from 300 years ago than it was about an accurate assessment of his power. Like maybe if he went all out he could have beaten KP, but since he already decided it was beyond the capabilities of mortal man he just went for the Mafuba instead.
I mean, I'd honestly rather have more characters that can be plot relevant than power scaling that makes sense. I always felt like that was one of Dragon Ball Z's biggest weaknesses, in that it has all of these interesting characters, but NONE of them matter. I would honestly want to watch a wildlife documentary narrated by Scott Frerichs. Even if it was totally made up about Paozu tuna and the local native population reliant upon them for food. That said, I always thought the Garlic Jr. arc was actually sorta good in a way. I mean, as filler it doesn't compare to the others, but it requires the team fight without Goku or Vegeta and actually gave Kami and Mr. Popo something to do. Plus, Gohan is actually a star, foreshadowing Cell (which they didn't know at the time).

Super has the worst scale though. Like cabba, kale, caulifla, android 17, krillin, master roshi, basically what I'm saying is everyone in universe 7 was overpowered to be on goku's level. Meanwhile the saiyans in universe 6 are just stupidly overpowered

This is episode is the team's best work. Although, Killin could have solved his relationship issues if he had just had an honest conversation with Maron while hovering over Nightworker Island.

What I love is that the TFS crew accidentally made a consistent Saiyan character trait. Between Bardock and Vegeta, both of them, when trying to think of something, usually while pissed, are easy to distract and take the entire idea with them xD

Episode 31 is one of my favorite episodes! I love when you guys are able to not worry about the plot and just go nuts! Season 3 is the best because you guys improve with each episode and we get to enjoy the ride!
When I watched this show for the first time, I finished episode 30 and it was 3 AM. I started episode 31, saw Garlic Jr. And decided I didn’t want to watch a filler arc so I went to sleep. So your joke for episode 31 actually tricked me into going to sleep.
Kinda crazy to think about it but up until Trunks arriving, Goku has technically only met this Piccolo 3 times. Once during the World Martial Arts Tournament, once to fight Raditz, and once for Freeza.

Not really confirmed, there was one off remark about Cold being Frieza's only parent but not really specified if that means Cold Birthed him or Cold was the only one to take care of him as a parent.
They are also mutants of their race so we don't even know how their race even functions anyway when all you ever see are two of them who are apparently highly mutated and evil on their own. It would be like saying all Namekians are like the first ones we see with Demon King Piccolo and his mutated off spring before Piccolo Jr. was born.
Say what you will about power scaling in super, Roshi being relevant again is excellent
TBF, I don't think we've ever seen the ceiling of Roshi's power. I think him ducking out during the King Piccolo arc was more about trauma from 300 years ago than it was about an accurate assessment of his power. Like maybe if he went all out he could have beaten KP, but since he already decided it was beyond the capabilities of mortal man he just went for the Mafuba instead.
I mean, I'd honestly rather have more characters that can be plot relevant than power scaling that makes sense. I always felt like that was one of Dragon Ball Z's biggest weaknesses, in that it has all of these interesting characters, but NONE of them matter. Ya know Yamcha was the first character in the series to hand Goku an L?

That said, I always thought the Garlic Jr. arc was actually sorta good in a way. I mean, as filler it doesn't compare to the others, but it requires the team fight without Goku or Vegeta and actually gave Kami and Mr. Popo something to do. Plus, Gohan is actually a star, foreshadowing Cell (which they didn't know at the time).

Moreover, it's a level of consistency that would actively make the story worse if it was enforced to the degree some fans want it to/act like it is. If power levels were adhered to religiously and Goku was the only character who could ever accomplish anything that would be boring and we wouldn't have cool moments like Krillan cutting off Freeza's tail or Tien holding off Cell.
Super has the worst scale though. Like cabba, kale, caulifla, android 17, krillin, master roshi, basically what I'm saying is everyone in universe 7 was overpowered to be on goku's level. Meanwhile the saiyans in universe 6 are just stupidly overpowered
