Thank you so much for the videos. I wait each week to watch the newest one. I just did a minky blanket! I am making so much more now after seeing your videos because the techniques were intimidating to do on my own, but not anymore! I love embroidering!
This is such a wonderful idea! Thanx for making a video of the procedure. I love doing kitchen towels, but was getting bored with putting designs on the same old flour sack towels. This gets my creative juices flowing!!!
Your tutorial is wonderful!! I just got my first embroidery machine, Brother NQ1400e and have been looking on RUclips for tutorials. Love your detailed instructions!!!
Embroidery Library is my #1 place for embroidery designs. Thank you so much for doing these videos. I have learned a great deal and trying new things since these videos started. I am currently working on the Minky blanket. The diamond stitch design was easier than I though, my problem now is the hem stitch around the blanket. I picked up fleece instead of flannel and when I fold it to do the hem its super thick. Also being new to sewing I can't seem to sew a straight line. I will keep practicing. Thanks again.
+Girlfriends Gift Shop Pam Thanks for watching! I'm glad the videos are helping you. I can't wait to see your finished projects -- be sure to send them in for the Stitchers Showcase!
+Girlfriends Gift Shop Pam I thought about your question some more....fleece might be too thick for this. Flannel is thinner, which is why we used it. Minky is pretty thick on its own, so pairing with fleece might result in something that's too thick. Can you try with flannel? I think you'll have an easier time.
+Embroidery Library I agree the fleece is way too thick and therefore folding around the edges are difficult and since my machine is having fits I am not sewing a straight line. I'm sure I will find someone that won't care and give it away. I did purchase flannel for my next work and can't wait to showcase it. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for this tutorial. It has given me good ideas. Your instructions are simple and easy to understand. Embroidery Library is number one with me and I always recommend it to anyone I can because I believe your designs are the best, stitch out so well and are affordable.
I use Embroidery Library ball the time for not only designs but if project ideas. I have recently done the free standing lace ornamentt covers and ow I try just about every FSL design that fits my machine!
+ter art Thanks for your sweet compliment! We usually buy our towels from stores like Target, Home Goods, JoAnn's, Bed Bath & Beyond, and TJ Maxx or Home Goods.
Thank you so much...great tutorial. I received a Brother PE 770 for Christmas, have not used it yet, I am working on a quilt and have to finish it. I have always wanted an embroidery machine. I looked at the book that came with it, looks complicated...but I will tackle it soon. The dish towels are perfect gifts. May I ask where you bought your waffle weave towels? I noticed you had several colors.
+Deanna Tucker I'm delighted you enjoyed the video! We usually buy our towels from stores like Target, Home Goods, JoAnn's, Bed Bath & Beyond, and TJ Maxx or Home Goods.
+Embroidery Library Patsy, on our Brother machines there are little arrows on the display screen that we press to move the hoop. Your machine might differ. Check the manual, or with your dealer, or machine manufacturer, to find out how to move the hoop. Thanks!
Fantastic!!! Reallly, thanks for a great idea and a terrific video. You all are such a "top act" as they say. Have been a fan and follower forever! Is your marker an air erase type marker or a washable one that you dab off? I am paranoid about using them ! Maybe they have improved over the past 15 years?
I want to make sure I am not missing anything. I noticed in the video a zig zag stitch was used on the top of the fabric to hold the piping and fabric in place to the towel. You also indicated that you stitched a 1/8 seam along the side and bottom edge of the fabric which the video showed that you did. However when a shot of the finish product was shown along with the other different design towels that were made I do not see the 1/8 stitch that was done along the side and bottom edge. Why is that? I am missing something? Even the photos of the website does not show the stitch. I am loving the technique and cannot wait to give it a try but want to make sure the stitch on the side an bottom is necessary. Thanks for the videos... I really love Embroidery Library and please keep the videos coming.
+Girlfriends Gift Shop Pam Great question! The finished images actually show the towels folded, so while that finishing seam is there, it's just not in the image. Thanks for asking!
+Girlfriends Gift Shop Pam It's the largest size. If you review the written instructions, you'll see the products listed: www.emblibrary.com/EL/ELProjects/Projects.aspx?productid=PR1507
That depends! A variety of towels and fabrics work for making towels. We like a nice cotton or flour sack towel for the kitchen, and terrycloth towels for the bathroom.
How do I print the design to the size of the finish design? I must be doing something wrong, the design is small that is on printed paper so I can't use it as a template.
+Ann Ladato Check to make sure your software is set to print at full size. You might check with the company that makes your software to see how to check that.
+Embroidery Library Thank you for getting back to me. I got it figured out. Turns out that my program Amazing Designs has that option and I am able to print with the lines.
+Maryann Thompson Hoop burn occurs when moisture is removed from the fabric. The solution is to return moisture to the fabric - steaming, laundering, or etc. Hoop burn is not permanent, unless you're working with a fabric that shouldn't get wet, like velvet. Hope that helps!
Kenny, you are a super teacher and I so appreciate the creative ideas !

Everyone loves tea towels. When you say "move the hoop so that the center is under the needle", how are you moving the hoop?
+Embroidery Library Patsy, on our Brother machines there are little arrows on the display screen that we press to move the hoop. Your machine might differ. Check the manual, or with your dealer, or machine manufacturer, to find out how to move the hoop. Thanks!
Love all your videos!

+Marie-Elena Baker Thank you! We use air-erase markers or dressmaker's pencils to mark our fabric -- they tend to come out easily. Enjoy!
Wow I love it I want try that one ....I love watch videos .....learn now thank you your videos 🌹👍🏼

Beautiful!
How do you get the cutaway stabilizer to look good on the back? What about bath towels?
Hi Danise, we usually trim the stabilizer about 1/2" around the designs of the design. It will also soften after use and after laundering.
On this particular towel what size is the embroidery design? Is that a 4 x4 or 5x7 design?
+Girlfriends Gift Shop Pam It's the largest size. If you review the written instructions, you'll see the products listed: www.emblibrary.com/EL/ELProjects/Projects.aspx?productid=PR1507

Hoop burn usually results from hooping towels, some stays, not good for a gift.
Is this a washable item?
Hi Sandee, yes it is!
