Really liked this ride when I went to Canobie Lake. The only problem is at the end with all the ancient Egypt stuff. If my memory serves me right, this is suppose to take place in 1871; the time of one of our gold rushes. Just wish the ride had stayed with that haunted mines theme-a nod to the many mine tragedies of the era- instead of moving to ancient Egypt. The "Pharoah's curse" reminds me of the "King Tut's curse".
The ride takes place in the present time. It was back in 1891 when Billy and Bobby Hollander discovered the mine. Then, in 1895, the two boys disappeared and were never heard from again. The Egyptian stuff is weird, but it's come to be one of my favorite scenes in the ride. As a kid I used to want a new scene in its place, but nostalgia has got the best of me and I want it to stay forever lol
