    Just bought a new, old stock 2022 ZT XL. This video was really helpful. Used it today on a 4 acre rough pasture, and it was great. Than I decided to watch this video and see what I didn't know that is relevant to using it in the best way. Excellent information.

    In regard to the statement of engaging the PTO at less than full throttle, I believe the manual actually stated DO NOT do this. It will cause extra stress on the belts. The manual steps for engaging the PTO is: 1) Start Engine, 2) Set Throttle lever to fast, 3) Engage the throttle.

      The slower engage and disengage blades speed is intuitive but others who have moving businesses tell me that do both at full power too.

    Great info. Thanks.
    I bought a ZT XL 42” today.
    Paid $5000 OTD. How did I do on the price? As far as my research, that’s about $770 off MSRP.

    I thought about getting one until i read a lot of bad reviews on them, so i will go with Hustler or Bobcat.

    The drive levers from start to full speed are about a distance of 3 inches, which meaning with a 3 inch movement it goes from 0 to 7 1/2 mph. That creates one of most jerky and DANGEROUS situations. Wonderinf if you migth have some avice

      There are some dampeners that we have replaced and this helped the u it’s that were a bit wild.

      @@Carlsmower could you explain a little more what you're referring to is a damper? Hey, if it's available that I could do this to my mower.

      @@gilk352 there are “shocks” that are part of the drive lever system. We have had some shocks that were not right from the factory. By replacing them things got way smoother.

    What is the comparable ariens machine to this?

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 года назад

      There is not. It is a step up from the iKON XD.

    • @johnmpifer
      @johnmpifer 2 года назад

      The Ikon XD is pretty much the same machine, but with ZT-2200 transaxles.
      I just researched them and ended up going with the Gravely because I wanted the serviceable hydros.
