    Really helpful comparisons. I just bought a "like new -65 hrs" 2017 ZTX-42 with a mulch kit. Although having far more squirrely (sensitive) transmissions than than the Troy Bilt I had, I made the right choice for my needs. I indeed enjoy mowing with this solid machine and its superior fabricated deck.

    question how would the gravelys you reviewed work in a commerial setting meaning being run 3-4 days per week approx. 10 lawns per day? There is a shortage in my area on the heavier duty commercial mowers so I may buy a residential use gravely to getby in the meantime Thanks- Tom

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 года назад +1

      I have light duty commercial lawn care companies running the HD machines with great success several of them are in the 2000 in our range and have been fairly trouble free. Just remember that when and if the problems start coming on you did buy a machine that was made for residential use. The HD does have a warranty that works for commercial cutters.

    How long roughly do you see the non serviceable transmission last vs the 2800 serviceable ones. I spend about 2 hours one day a week mowing a few small lots. Just curious. I’m thinking about the XL

    • @Carlsmower
      @Carlsmower  2 года назад

      It’s generally more of a length of time per mow (think heat). Serviceable trans should see 2-3X the life. (I’d personally stick either ZTX or make the jump to the 44 or 48 ZTHD). Josh

I would really like to talk mowers with you as I'm sooooo close to pulling the trigger, but I want to make sure I get the right one for my lawn. I have a local dealer about 25 minutes from me who has been in this location for several decades. Very reputable, and their Yelp scores are fantastic. I considered the pro turn 60 inch, nice machine, but for that kind of money I was very concerned about what I would get for the money. I done a lot of research and found out that everyone was comparing their machines to the Scag machines, saying that their machines were as good as the Scags. After researching and watching reviews on Scags, 99.7% were positive. Scag prices are a little bit higher, but the old saying, you get what you pay for, rings true. I got the Scag Patriot 61 inch, Fx 730v, 3400 hydro's, suspension seat, 24x12x12 Kenda tires, Kevlar belts, 10 mph/5 mph backwards for 7000. dollars including a 15% military discount, 400 tax. Now I have experienced why all other makes of z-turns compare their machines to the Scags.🥰

    If you like to have grass and dirt blow out from the front of the mower.
    If you want to have a half inch coating you just ten minutes time .
    Then hands down get the Mach One. I was mowing yesterday evening with
    my LED headlights on. I need to get a go pro camera to film how the trash blows out the front
    and all over the operator. You really need a face shield. I wish someone knew how to fix this problem.
    It can really mow the grass but the user experience needs improvement.
    I have posted this on the Gravely website but for some reason they censor it away.
    Kind of makes me wonder if the reviews are really accurate if they are cherry picking what they post.
