    I bought my Gravely ztxl 52 back in 2019. 23hp Kawasaki engine. What an incredible mower. Absolutely no issues. It's like riding my last boy recliner. I recently bought a Scag Liberty with 36" cut. It was just so cool. Had to have. Also no issues. What a great time we live in when mowing the yard is actually an enjoyable activity. Great video.

    Good videos and high-quality review. The music is a little loud, and maybe only have it in the beginning and end.

    Picked my ZT X 52 up from your Palatka store and could not be happier. It really checks a lot of boxes for the price point.

    Do those agressive rear tires tear up the grasss when turning? I'm trying to choose between this model and the Scag Liberty Z

    • @crystaltractor
      @crystaltractor  3 дня назад

      Any tread will be likely to cause damage if you turn on it (making a true zero-degree turn) but as long as you're careful not to spin on your pivot tire you should be fine.

    Can you grease the front axles and the blade spindles?

    • @crystaltractor
      @crystaltractor  5 месяцев назад +1

      As is fairly common with residential grade mowers, you won't find grease zerks on them. These caster design on these actually use a sealed bearing system so they don't require axle greasing.

    The 48” with 21.5 hp engine is the same engine as the 52” 23hp. Same displacement and everything. Only difference is the carb adding the 1.5hp. Torque is the same.

    How do you adjust the level of the deck on this type of leveling system

    • @crystaltractor
      @crystaltractor  Месяц назад

      There are turnbuckles under the front of the mower. You can tighten them to raise the pitch, and loosen them to lower the pitch.

    How do you keep the deck access panel locked down? Mine continuously pops open from vibration when cutting.

    • @crystaltractor
      @crystaltractor  3 месяца назад

      Most likely you're not seating it all the way in the detent. It has to be very precisely aligned to go all the way in to the retainer. We've experienced a few times where if it's just a bit misaligned it will snap in place, but not be all the way down. We'd suggest just playing with the alingment of the "hinges" a bit at the back and you'll probably notice the difference when you snap it back in place when you get it right.

    • @adamdufrene2947
      @adamdufrene2947 3 месяца назад

      @@crystaltractor Yea i noticed its a real pain to get the hinge in place. It would be nice to have an alternative to the rubber grommett. What about instead of the pin/rubber, a bolt through that same hole with locking washer and wingnut? Your nut would be on top for easy removal.

    • @crystaltractor
      @crystaltractor  3 месяца назад +1

      Probably manageable. The idea with Gravely's setup is to keep it a toolless system, but Hustler for example uses a design simlar to what you're suggesting.
      If you wanted a fastener system, you could probably rig something fairly easily by removing the pin and grommet and using a bolt/washer from the top and a u-nut in the floorpan, But it would make it difficult to use the storage tray effectively.
      Using a wingnut with the bolt sticking up wouldn't be reccommended as it could be hazardous or at least become annoying underfoot...

    I got the 2023 Gravely ZT x 42 with bagger (not power bagger). It's AWEFUL !! Do NOT recommend this one! The mower blows grass, leaves, debris all out of ALL sides of the mower including in front which goes RIGHT into your face and eyes as you drive forward right into it. It's absolutely awful. I was advised by the dealer to slow the mower engine/speed and that will fix it and it did nothing! The bagger is the 1st time Gravely did their own and it's AWFUL. The bags are WAY too behind the mower so if you're driving along side of a structure/wall or fence, you can't just turn away from the structure normally b/c the bags are so far behind the mower, turning normally, the bags crash up against the structure. Literally the only good thing about the Gravely ZT 42 is the Kawasaki engine. The deck adjustment hight control is lame and I often can't see the numbers when adjusting while mowing. I sold the mower after 1 season and after contacting both the dealer and contacting Gravely were USELESS. I bought an other brand with Kawasaki engine altogether and it works as it should so, finally I have a normally functioning mower again that doesn't spew debris out all sides of the deck and the new one I got has the normal suction into the bagging system. What a headache but finally on to mowing lawn as I should.

      Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience. Most of our customers just use it as it comes with the side chute, but we'll keep that in mind for our reccomendations if our customers ask about the bagger.

    • @malcolmh5736

      @@crystaltractor Even with just the side-shoot, this mower still throws grass, leaves, debris all over, and out in front so you’re constantly driving into this stuff and gets in eyes etc.. just awful.
