    Delivered a nice even cut, has the super tight turning ability ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend I was looking for, and is just a blast to drive. It takes a little bit to get used to driving one after driving a normal tractor style, but once you've got it, you've got it. If you're cutting lines, you have to be careful spinning the mower around or the back tire will dig a bare spot. Just take it nice and slow during the turn and then it's back to full throttle across the yard!

    I heard what he said….but was it really, “as a dealer, I wasn’t impressed with my profit margin on Gravely.”
    There’s no way one could be disappointed with the build quality of Gravely. My dad, my brother, my church & I have them and they are brutally tough and make a beautiful lawn.
    I’ve had mine since 2005 & it’s like a sewing machine despite me treating it pretty rough as I live on a steep & rough hillside.

      Same. I was recommended to go with Gravely by an ExMark dealer about decade ago. He stood behind his product as the best for commercial but he honestly told me to go with gravely if I want a home mower. It's been an absolute tank.

    No one will ever convinced me that Gravely mowers are bad mowers. Built tough, cost is reasonable, ton of different models, excellent warranty, customer service is off the chart and plenty of dealers that sell gravely around my area. Wright? Seen only 1 stand-up Wright mower in my life. Not saying that Wright mower is a bad brand but I heard that they are really really really expensive.

      @lcee6592 Год назад

      @@JoeCnNd No they sure don't build em like they used to, but that's true of any brand. A lot of factors can cause a poor cut. One can take any brand and make it cut crappy. I personally know a handful of ZT Gravely owners and all are quite happy with their performance. Maybe there is a specific model that has an issue, I don't know? But anyway, if you ask enough people, eventually every single manufacturer makes pure junk. It's no different than auto manufacturers as to who makes the best cars/ trucks.

    All the smaller crews and companies in San Antonio run Gravely and all the large companies run John Deere. My dealer refuses to carry Wright and Ferris for the same reasons your dealer refuses to carry Gravely. At the end of the day its about what the dealer thinks is the right product for the customer and the support they'll get from the manufacture.

      The best mowers (ruling out off brands) are the ones popular and supported in any given area. Sounds like for you that's Gravely. Wright is an extremely reliable mower brand. But no one should rely on a brand without local dealer support. Every market area has its dominant brands. In our area of Southern Ct it's been Scag and Exmark. Wrights dealer are starting to show up quite bit now. If I were to get back into mowing I would choose Wright.

    I hear you on certain brands being popular in a given area. I own a Gravely ZTXL and it is a solidly built mower even though it's a non-commercial mower it is probably built just as good as one and I am convinced that their HD line is built better than a lot of commercial mowers. I think you get a lot more for your money with Gravely. Really it's mostly about the engine and hydros your mower is only as good as the parts that make them go. They use Kohler Kawasaki and hydro-Gear.

He"ll probably have beef with any brand that makes commercial quality things that last. I personally think and agree with the commenters on this video about gravely and ect and i think a customer is a more honest and the right person to be asking about what lasts and is a great product. Gravely makes a damn decent zero turn mower. My childhood mentor has actually owned one that he bought brand new from a local dealer at the time. The dealer has since went out of business and if I remember right it was because one of the brothers that opened it up years prior had passed away due to old age. So I think the remaining brother and sister that still owned it and ran it decided they were ready to retire. The building actually sat vacant for roughly 10 years before somebody else moved in to it. So I'm assuming they owned the building and they just decided to close up shop and retire. They always had people walking in and out of there buying parts and whatever else. Their parts department was second to know body. 99% of the time they had it in stock and didn't have to order it. They pretty much always got you the right parts on the first try pretty much every time. So you didn't waste time running back and forth trying to find the right part. Ole JP Fuller and company. Weren't the cheapest in the area but they usually had it in stock and the guys behind the counter knew what they were doing. But anyway he's still running that Gravely zero turn over 20 years later and he has no intention of buying a new one any time soon. You just need to invest in one of the more commercial grade mowers. But Gravely still makes a solid zero turn mower. Usually with either a Kawasaki or Briggs Vanguard or Kohler Command depending on what you want.

      He simply can't compete with the prices. You can buy an Ariens which is a Gravely painted orange at the box stores cheap. He would go out of business if he tried to compete. I shopped around before I bought a mower. Did thorough analysis of decks, spindles, metal thickness, welds, engines, hydros, maintenance ease, availability and price. Ariens (Gravely) was best bang for buck by far. Bought it, saved $2,000.00, and they delivered to my door. He has to have a brand that it not readily available and then build a stable of customers that come to him for service. He does not want Gravely because the average Joe buys it direct and then maintains it himself. i mow a huge and complex 5 acre yard with trees, branches, ditches, etc. The Ariens Gravely is a beast. Look on line right now. Ariens Apex 60 $5,899.00. Ferris 60 $11,000.00. Now you see why he sells Ferris

      I'll put it to you this way, if you live in the south and you're not running rear tweels and solid fronts and your competition is, you are already one step behind. Tweels will develop flat spots while sitting idle in the severe cold so I understand the risk and the added headache of elevating them off the ground or switching them out with pneumatics for the guys up north, but they are a no brainer if you live in the south.

Folks better have at least 1 backup of every piece of equipment they need or think they'll need and they better start preparing for rising costs too. If you're going to need a mower, aerator, trailer or truck in the next 3 years, you better move on it now. Nationwide inventories are depleting literally by the day and costs of raw materials is rising by the day.

Ferris has more points of failure for their complex suspension setup and Wright dealers are hard to find even when I’m in their business back yard. Wright however is great for lower center of gravity on hills. They all have pros and cons but I’d take a simplistic ultra durable Gravely anyday over a super expensive Scag TT2.

    $1200 for a set of tires that can develop flat spots if left sitting in one place for extended periods, and which don't really offer better traction seems like a waste of money (and a high profit margin item for the manufacturers). No experience with Gravely mowers. I run Grasshopper mowers with out front decks. Solid machines, but their dealer/distributor network is small so you have to be able to work on them yourself for most of your routine maintenance. Grasshopper offers a few liquid cooled diesel engine options too, but I've never needed the power or been able to justify the added expense.
