I am an Estate Liquidator and an Antique Dealer I struggled with this in the beginning but unfortunately family members just don’t want to keep these things anymore or rarely so the option is that they get thrown away. I feel better knowing that they will go to someone who will keep and appreciate them. Even if you sell to another dealer that’s where it ends up. So yes, it’s sad that the family doesn’t want these things but it’s better knowing that someone does.

as someone who has dealt with people their entire life, people selling things lie about what they paid for it. they will inflate the purchase price so the "half of what i paid" is just where they wanted to start anyway. buyers set the price, not the seller.

Peter, that WWI medals/memorabilia would be good to sell to a prop shop in Chicago. That way they could use it in films/videos. If you had an older war veteran hero in a story, having props like that is priceless.
For me on the west coast, it's video games, mtg games, high end tools(Snap-on, Matco), Mexican pottery is hot right now. It does depend on the area you're in, but you also need to be flexible on your pricing. When the economy is stale, I move things cheaper and faster.

Memorabilia is meaningful for the people who earned the medal/recognition or may have meaning to someone in the family who also served or had a special relationship with veteran. At that point is good that someone can enjoy and find meaning in the items not be disposed of. I found a WWI medal in my family’s home and have no idea who earned it or what the meaning is. Is. It meaningful to me but hanging on to it hoping someone will enjoy it someday.
My grandfathers medals and everything else he had accumulated was thrown into a dumpster because my stupid uncle didn’t pay the storage bill and didn’t tell anyone. I’d much rather he’d have sold them to anyone instead of them being in the landfill.
Clothing stores/Manufactures sometimes have different fitting Clothes, than the other store. you would have to match the same item from the Manufacture. maybe you can match it some how to make sure it is not a fake!/Look alike! I also, do not use Ebay as it is a big risk in my opinion for both the seller and the buyer!
Is there a delay from when you receive postcards until you show them on your videos? I sent a postcard from Pullman, WA a couple weeks ago roughly and I still haven't seen mine on any videos yet.
