I love how Anxiety is depicted. She's not a villain, just a normal emotion who means well like the others, but like Joy in the first movie, she needs to learn to let go and let the others take control. Anxiety has a useful purpose like all the emotions, but needs to be kept in check.
@@Chuuzusthat's okay too, it's just factually wrong tho. She's an antagonist. Maybe inside out 3 will bring an actual villain character, but the first 2 just had antagonists, the first being joy herself and the second being anxiety
@@ChuuzusWell, technically she's an antagonist because she opposes the heroes, but her goal isn't evil, she just wants to protect Riley. So not a villain.
I appreciated that Anxiety wasn't an all out villain, but she honestly had Riley's best interests at heart, and thought she was doing what was best. She reminds me of Joy from the original film.
@@TommyDay-kq1jj she annoyed me for sure at first but honestly after the end, it reminded me that anxiety does sometimes drive us in certain ways where it doesn't make me necessarily hate it, at least not always, depends on the situation and intensity i guess
That moment when Anxiety is frozen at the controls and a tear falls from her eye 😭 wow, i cry like a baby. It perfectly captured that feeling when you’re so desperately trying to get up, move forward in your life and not be anxious…but you just can’t move. And you can’t make yourself move it feels, even though that’s all you want to do, but you’re so scared of what will happen when you do take that step forward and let anxiety stop controlling you. Ugh, it was just so beautifully done and made me love Anxiety.
When the sense of self Anxiety made was Riley saying "I'm not good enough" I could not stop crying until the end of the movie. Anxiety really can run all of your thoughts, for many years it ran mine. And i love that this and the first one can show kids that their emotions can seem like villians, but they are a part of yourself that can be managed.
girl no at the end of the credits the big dark secret is that Riley peed in a pool once .. you can search it up. I also love lesbian representation but Val is around 18 while Riley is 13, if Riley really did like Val, it would be more of a one sided crush which means Riley likes Val but Val doesn’t like her back like that.
The depiction of a panic attack was so good. It’s overwhelming and scary. Anxiety made me like Sadness a little more; Sadness wasn’t as bad as Anxiety.
@KauanFelipe-px1qq not only that, but if you think about it, Anxiety came not just because of puberty, but because Joy kept repressing/suppressing all of Riley's "bad" emotions to keep her from forming negative beliefs about herself and questioning her sense of self that Joy had carefully curated. Anxiety is what happens when you suppress negative emotions, because at the back of your mind, you're worrying about mistakes you made and hoping you're good enough and that you're a good person; Anxiety is the one trying to push through/past that, albeit in an unhealthy way because the foundation of Anxiety is both unstable and informed by negative experiences and emotions. Anxiety really does mean to protect, but its help is limited and when it's out of control, it's debilitating. (I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder btw, which feels relevant to mention here.)
“ I hope this one will not be emotional “ Chu babes, the main characters are literally emotions. Not to mention that “emotional “ is Pixar’s bread and butter
My wife had an anxiety attack when we first met in high school. So that’s what made her cry when we saw the movie with our kids in theaters. It reminded her of the is moment
Watching this movie felt like a holding up a reflection to my middle school self. I really related to Riley's struggles, especially when she suffers an anxiety attack, and thinks "I'm not good enough."
Joy and Sadness go hand and hand. I love how they are always together, even in the first movie when they don't necessarily like being together most of the time. It's like the movie's way of saying that you can't have joy without sadness and you can't have sadness without joy. How would you know what joy is if you've never experienced sadness(it goes both ways)? While the emotions are indeed opposite, they compliment each other in what the other lacks/doesn't lack. They really went above and beyond on creating these movies imo. The attention and care that they put into creating this somewhat visual representation of the complexity of human emotions is absolutely amazing. And they've actually managed to make such a confusing and complex topic easy for children to understand as well. Both movies would actually be really beneficial for kids to watch. I didn't have ANY type of understanding of my emotions during those young implemental years. I know for me, it definitely would've meant a lot if I got to see these movies back then. Glad they exist now though! Definitely in my top 5 favorite Disney Pixar films!!!
CHUUZU! I AM TIRED OF YOU APOLOGIZING FOR YOUR FEELINGS! I'm joking mostly, but as someone who has always apologized for mine, its OK! You were kinda right about Riley having a crush. From what I've heard the problem with making an lgbtq character for Disney is they tend to censor most "gay" activities and reactions in order to cater to their conservative audience. 2 really popular theories are A) Riley has a crush on Val B) Riley's emotions are different genders to signify her questioning/not identifying with the female gender. The way to back this up is the constant flashes into other minds to see that they are all identical to their person.
I don't think it's that deep, I think people just *want* that to be the case. I think the "identifying with their person" is just so the audience doesn't get confused and we know whose head we're in.
@@RedRoseSeptember22yeah, stuff like this actually harms any actual LGBTQ representation because conservatives are already hellbent on thinking movies have become too “woke and inclusive.” It can simply just be a movie about a growing girl and her emotions 😭
