The cast learned sign language to convey the purpose of surviving in the quiet world since ASL doesn't use sounds to communicate. Also, I am Deaf, so this is an excellent representation of a Deaf person in a horror movie.

This was John Krasinski's first directing movie. He did an incredible job, as did his wife, Emily Blunt, and the girl who played the daughter, who is deaf in real life.
Ultimately, when it comes to losing the baby in the beginning, I think the only real mistakes made were his placement in the line (even wolves know to put the young and elderly between the strongest of the pack) and leaving the batteries on the counter. I don't blame the sister for giving him the rocket...she was trying to be a cool big sister. But the responsible thing would've been to pocket those batteries, either her or dad. It's not like they weren't going to need that resource anyway. His death could definitely have been avoided, and no one person was to blame.

Yeah nah it’s definitely only where you’re at. I live on the east coast and have moved schools multiple times- the only languages that were taught/were options are Spanish and French. Any possible other language would have to be someone who volunteered to make a club about it, not required for the subjects needed to pass grades

I wrote this under another comment but maybe I should make it more visible, Emily blunt had no choice but to have the baby, I'm sure getting pregnant was an accident. Safe sex in a post apocalyptic word isn't easy lus condoms break so even if they had protection there's still a chance you can get pregnant. Then there's the issue of once your pregnant you basically have to go through with the pregnancy because there are no doctors around for them to exercise theyre right to choose, plus if they did try to arrange all of that the procedure itself would cause so much noise no one would survive
These movies stress me out. Honestly after Quiet Place Day one I think maybe fans would be open to one more movie. Set like 10 years after movie 2 where the family is working with the government and coordinate to have the aliens leave completely using the frequency. Almost like a war movie. I think that would be a cool way to end the franchise without overdoing it
