Honestly I do love warm up books like this. I understand some difficult pieces in the lot but for a while it seemed like lines wanted to be more impressive on the lot instead of the field or court. This is truly a pure warm up and I dig it.
Yea drum corps and wgi is imo in danger of slowly playing things so complicated that 1. Only elite drumers can follow and 2. Sound like random noise to anyone not from drumcorps. I think the basics are more important than many realise
This line plays really well! Better than a lot of world class groups honestly. I'll always be more impressed by a line that attacks basic fundamentals and learns to play every note together v.s. hammering a bunch of dirty beats with no consistency
Approach is a lot better than some World groups but World groups have sound quality over every Open group with maybe Meraki being the exception. They are making smart decisions since Open is closer to A class than most people think.
Hey man these are warm up practice in my instructional School in 1972 dude but it's pretty cool people online to present this program of drumming a lot of people don't understand the concept good job dude. 😎👍
I dont know how I made onto drumline videos (probably the Cavaliers) and its Geoff Fry from Pride - looking good mate. Good to see you are still playing...... Barlow
Hello guys, i recently started playing snare drum and most of the time i'm practicing on my pad but a lot of drum tutorilas(drum lines/drum solo) are really hard for me. Can you suggest some beginner or even intermediate pieces since i have a lot of free time and can play doubles, triples, paradiddles, flams. I have a wish to learn ditty someday but it's obviously too hard for me :) Sorry for my eng and thanks for your attention
go back through all my old videos and get the simple basics down, especially all the standard warm ups. "warm up" are really daily exercises. Get a copy of my RED book as it will teach you all the rudiments you need and start watching bands of america drumlines and high schools to see what they are doing, they are the "yellow brick road" to the elite stuff like ditty.
Geof , I have a little problem with Ditty. I've played it hundreds of times. At tempo below tempo and everything in between . It's like everything else, it just doesn't want to stick in my memory. With the sheets not a problem. Although I can still remember what I played 60 years ago.
@@michaelcharette2234 try playing along with BD (full drumline) videos, slow it down using youtube slow down feature. If you are like me you will find that the other drums become references for you and make it more musical.
Hi, you can share away.. I am pretty sure that this packet is on google search Breakthrough Percussion Packet 2024. I just dont share as some of the stuff I teach is purchase only (from the original writers)
@@FreestyleRudiments Me too. I played for Tom Float (The man himself) in 1980 Spirit of Atlanta and the exercises that were popular then were very specific and simple, although I do think our chops in their purest sense were better than today's kids. And of course we were playing on mylar heads and that's a whole different ball game. I do admire the complexity that's going on today but I still like a good fundamental series because at the end of the day it's all about the basics.
You prob wont notice on the vid but during the triplet diddle exercise I suddenly noticed a sweet bass run and almost mentioned it.. prob with going off topic is I end up talking for 5 min.. lol
Hell yeah. BT mentioned. W BT

I have been having trouble learning SCV 2014 snare break. If you could do a video on that it would be AWESOME!

I would argue that World Class has improved alot in the 20-30 range, but alot of people overwriting down there for sure
@rifle2563 I agree with that actually

@@FreestyleRudimentsFound it! Thanks for the tip! (y) And thanks for putting all the effort in these kind of movies. Please keep doing that ;)
Cavies comes to mind-I mean they won the Sanford playing basic fundamentals in the warm up lot last season.
SCV also has a basic series of warm ups.
@@Inspadave Also a Sanford Winner with basic fundamentals.
hey Dennis, yea I sometimes just question if I like simple well played because of my "era" but then the results often speak for them selves.

Current bass 3 on this line, our book is super fun and I love the fundamental approach of this ensemble! Yeah bass😎
@FreestyleRudiments Lol!!! Oh I noticed!!! And went bonkers!!! Love a good drumline!! And love your precision in teaching! Much respect sir!

Awesome but kinda long. That's ok the longer the better.
Please can you keep silent when drummers plain or put the pause button and then start talking....
