Man I remember learning this when I was 15 and everybody in my high school like "Buck no way you learned that and can actually play it" it is true lol. To bad nobody wanted to audition for Blue Devils cuz I always wanted to be one. But happy with my time at SCV
I was intimidated by this piece for YEARS, but this made it much easier to learn. I feel exceptionally accomplished this week, as this was my mini-goal. 💪🏼🥁 Do you have a Patreon account for your channel?
Little known fact, this ending is actually the third version from that season. Originally was the ‘82 opener ending, second was played at Concord pavilion but wasn’t played fast enough for Kevin’s liking so he wrote the one that everyone knows that was played all summer.
Helped me work out a few kinks from when I learned this back in high school. I can officially say I truly know it 100% now. Thank you! I'd really love to see you break down Blue Devils Grievous Groove snare part some day.
I think you are missing first group of diddles in the 15/16 bar @8:30 Thank you so much for these videos!! It helps me so much to play along with someone
8:27 he plays something different from what is written, he moves the accent to the "and" of beat 2, so he basically cuts out the last 2 diddles on beat 2
Hey mate I really like the videos. I taught in England, with the Mayflower. I teched for Gerald. I marched back in the 80's Suncoast Sound we had Brits in the corps. I really like the videos. haven't played ditty for a while you do a great job, if you can't play it slow you can't play it fast. DO SPANKS I think you would do a great job at it.
Hi Anthony, thanks for the comments. I know Gerald well known guy and did a lot of work in uk pushing forward the activity and i competed against Mayflower back in the 90's.

you'd be very surprised how much the 94 and 95 guys studied and learnt from the previous 3 years SCV. Red or Blue both were great around the 90's
17:12 you’re a great teacher, i needed to know this thank you
pleasure, thanks for watching

Im an 8th grader and I got most of this down and mastered the rudiments, its just some of the transitions that really gets me lmao.
Can't wait to play along after work
Part 2 is uploading... BIG files so takes a while. enjoy!
@@FreestyleRudiments I will thank you
Excellent break down and teaching techniques!
Thanks
Cool. Thanks for the effort and for sharing your talents.
thanks Dennis, like wise, keep up the good work!
Trying to learn this at 54😃… past mello player , never played snare - so it’s gonna take me a long time
Never too old. Get it down really slow. Even if feels crazy slow. Once you can rep it, you will naturally develop the speed.
Kevin Murray the 87 snare champ wrote the ditty. Good guy.
yea he was snare tech when I marched in 95. Great guy
