    I noticed that the label indicated this roof was made in the USA! Good 'ole American engineering on top of a lovely British garden room. Very nice job. Sorry but I am often missing the live show. Due to the time difference, it is middle of the afternoon here and I sometimes have other commitments. Cheers

    Was thinking of putting epdm on my shed roof next spring so thanks for doing this video as i have an Insight in doing it now.

    That looks a lot easier than when I did my shed roof 10x6". I bought a shed kit comprised of epdm and spay adhesive. I had to spray the adhesive to the wooden roof and also to the epdm, let it go tacky and then lower the epdm down on the roof. I only had one try to get it right.

      That sounds like the primer I use with it where you glue Epdm to Epdm

    Great Job Mark......looks easy when you do it.......did I miss it but how does this compare ££ wise to felt?cheers mate

      @KAPWoodworkandbuilding  10 месяцев назад

      This is a lot more expensive but I wouldn’t compromise on a build like this. A simple garden shed then felt is ok.

      Also minimum 25years life. Some say up to 50 years

    I enjoyed watching this Mark. I have two questions for you. 1. Why do you have to use a different glue for the edges? and 2. What is the life expectancy of the rubber roof? Regards, Fred

    • @KAPWoodworkandbuilding

      Hi Fred, good questions. 1. The honest answer is that I’m not entirely sure, it’s just the way that the roofing company I deal with say it must be done. To be honest there is a school of thought that because I’m fixing edging all round this makes the edging glue mute as it’s essentially double fixed. I don’t have a problem with that as it’s even stronger around the roofs most vulnerable points.
      2. Life expectancy is 25years. But they say it will last longer but that’s the guarantee. Out last me anyway. 🤣
      Stay well.

      Water-based adhesive is not good for walls and upstands because the slow drying time could mean the rubber shifts position before the glue has gone off. This is also why Contact Adhesive is used around the edge of the deck. Contact Adhesive is a super-strong, instant grab glue.
