Looks great! Here in the US we use 1/2” insulation and never glue it directly to the OSB but I know everyone does things differently! I like your trim work too.
What thickness is your rubber? 1.2 or 1.5mm? Great vids! I'm about to tackle a garden office in the coming weeks. I have a bigger question though.. The office will be going over an old garage plinth (good thickness) with no dpm in the concrete. I was thinking of simply sticking a Dpm over the top of the concrete adding additional dpc under the floor wall plates during a spell of good weather (unlikely in the UK!), then laying a frame (with insulation) over the top. I guess the issue is attaching it to the conrete without piercing the dpm... I was thinking just attaching it to the wall so it is essentially a floating floor.. Any suggestions would certainly help ;)
Nice job mate but one thing I’m not understanding is the gutter trim. It’s raised higher than the rubber so surely that won’t allow water to freely run into the gutter?
Hi, thanks for your comment. The rubber is between 2 pieces of trim so what happens is any trim that is slightly higher than the rubber the water will go between the trims into the gutter. It’s a fool proof system and works really well.
Thanks very much for the comment :) With the foam we either leave them on like that or just trim them down so they're touching in the middle. Doesn't make a different either way you do it, maybe looks a bit smarter if you cut them off 👍
@@creategardenrooms I’ve got a garage I’m building so want to try this instead of felt, seem a lot less faffing about, do Avenir do delivery for a complete kit?
The deck adhesive should not go to the edge of the boated, 50mm of contact adhesive should be used, stops shirinkage on rubber in different weather conditions, also your OSB board should hang over 50mm over the top of your fascia with battern underneath, much more professional finish
Thanks for the comment Andrew. Unfortunately that’s not the way we do our roofs and as the nails go through the rubber to hold it you do not need to use contact adhesive it would be wasted. We also run our facias flush with the edge trim for the rubber roof, it looks much sleeker and all of our customers love it. Nobody wants to look at batten do they 😉 Make sure you subscribe for more great content.
I cannot stand this video it makes me so uneasy you being so closed to the edge without any safety harness. My cousin was doing roofing for 15 years before he fell off of a 10 ft roof. He was on life support for four years before the plug was pulled. He broke his neck. Please stop making Hannah go up on the roof with no harness.
NO WE ARE NOT!! You don’t apply the water based adhesive to the rubber as-well. You ONLY apply BONDING adhesive to both sides when you’re not laying onto a timber deck. Common buddy do your research before calling people out.
That little jig to cut the rubber is one of those things that are so simple but incredibly clever! Great tip!

That's quite interesting to hear! Thanks for the comment. I'm gunna go check out some American construction videos now haha
What sort of insulation is tough enough to lay atop the OSB and for the EPDM to adhere to? I have not heard of this technique.
Unbelieveable video - I have an old concrete prefab garage with a horrendous roof and am going to tackle a refurb with rubber thanks to you.
Yea I love videos like this! Great ideas put me in the mood for spring!!
Awesome!! Good luck 🙌
Very nice, oh the job looks good aswell 👍😉
Great job. Shouldn't fix both sides off the corner caps. The trims move with the heat and the caps will split. 👍
Thanks Paul, they don’t move enough to worry about that. Fixing them on both sides keeps them straight 👍
Very helpful. and good explanation

Applying a rubber roof seems to be quite easy. Just one question, did you fold the corners or cut them? 0:50 ms
Fold therm bud. Cheers
great vid and cool job - thanks for the share
Thanks for the visit
Hi, thank you for this video, looks very useful! Just want to ask where you got the rubber sheets and gutter curb pieces from?
Rubber roof from Avenir Roofing in high wycombe including all trims ect, give them a call 👍
Looks great and very useful. One question, what do you do with the bits of foam tape folded back on the ends of each edging strip?

Looks great. Does it have to be osb on roof or would wbp ply be ok? Obviously I know cost is more but I've acquired some! Haha!
About the same price and I’d use OSB t&g
what brand of trims did you use in this video ?
How much overhang of rubber do you allow on each edge. Just ordering up rubber
@@alexe3082 200mm 👍
Hi mate im assuming you have a slight over hang on the gutter side so the water disperses into the gutter rather than behind it?
I mean just watch the video to work it out 🤔
where was the roof materials purchased from?
3 meters × 30 meters you buy it for how much usd .

Nice video, I’ve liked and subscribed 👍🏽

Is there a slope on that roof?
Of course 🫡
ain't you supposed to use a different sealer on the ends
Gutter trim not low enough pal
😂 What are you talking about yes it is
Wheres felt board between osb board and rubber? Where's your termination bar? You did it wrong.
I do love a mitred corner, you clearly dont

And where the fu*k will you anchor the harness to on this flat roof???
@@mindematt😂 james can hold the harness
Went too far on first corners mate
DOING IT WRONG, must apply the glue to both the deck and the rubber, then allow time to fully flash off solvents. read the instructions
