Hi Mark, been watching your vids and i really enjoy them. I'm of a similar age and i love watching a man potter around his workshop with a cup of tea in hand, it's like looking in the mirror ! I just wanted to say that the wellbeing videos really add something special to your channel, and as someone who has always struggled to a certain extent with that side of things, seeing someone like yourself talk about it really helps. Looks like a lot of hard work! Is there a reason you didn't remove the form before pouring the middle pad? How are you going to remove it once it all sets? Surely it'll eventually rot if left in place? I know nothing about concrete pads but I'm confused
Great work guys, that was definitely back breaking hard work & on top of that you had to collect & carry all the materials to site 🥵, I’m knackered just watching!
Raft foundation? In theory you’d link the mesh in with shit tonnes more rebar in the trenches to allow the raft some movement without cracking, but as you say more than enough for a garden room! Maybe it’s me that’s over engineering design for mine…
Looks good and over-engineered (although I don't know exactly what's going on top). Sure you'll have no problems but I would have brought the DPM up at the sides.
I've now seen the previous video, so wouldn't be worried about DPM like above. I thought that the slab was going to be the actual floor, tiled or something.

I would have removed the 4x2 before pouring the slab, and over sailed the slab mesh into the footing.
