  • We're back to test another lift capacity to it's max: this time we're testing the LX2601!

Remember, if your rear implement is sitting in the ground it isn't functioning as rear ballast.

Zach, Thanks for the great video demonstration of the lift capabilities of the new LX2610. I haven't seen anyone put the LX to any lifting tests. I have not put mine through any really heavy load situations, but I am more informed as to some of the strengths and limitations of the loader/tractor thanks to your video.

Can't believe how smooth he is on that loader LMAO

Only reason back tires came off the ground he was so jerky on the loader of course it's going to happen when you drop that much weight that fast and stop it quickly

Doesn't dropping the rear ballast to the ground kind of defeat the purpose of ballast?

Now there's a guy that spent a lot of time on a loader LMAO 🤣

Good video- the Kioti's list their tractors with higher lift capacity than Kubota so I wonder if Kubota is too conservative and Kioti taking advantage. Just an observation from both your video on the L2501 and this... you really should have the box blade in the air for it to be an effective counter weight! Sitting on the ground accomplishes nothing.

Zach, Thank you for posting. You gave me an idea of the capacity of the LX2610 that I have on order. I appreciate that.
One question- Would your rear box blade weight be more effective if it were 3 or 4 inches off the ground. Having it sitting on the ground you are loosing some of the counter weight effectiveness. Being slightly in the air maybe your rear tires would stay on the ground.
If you put suitcase weights on the back of a tractor for ballast they are suspended in mid air. They are not sitting on the ground.
I would like to here your thoughts on this. I would like to see this test repeated with the LX2610 with rear weight off the ground. Then we could see if results are any better. Thank you again for doing the initial test.
    Thanks, Dan

That is a very good suggestion, and I am sure your though process is correct. With the counter weight being off the ground it should add some more weight to the backend of the machine. Not sure how much extra it would add to lift since the last test the loader hydraulics themselves just stopped picking up, but might help with the bounce of the back end of the tractor. When we do more lift capacity videos I will see if we can re-test this with a better ballast setup!

Is that taking into account the weight of the forks? Just curious. I have a lx2610 and for some reason my dealer sold me the heavier lift forks so I'm trying to figure out what the max I can lift with them.

Yes, our calculations do include the weight of the pallet forks, our forks weigh 228lbs (they are the PFL1242).

There must be something wrong with my machine. I can only pick 14 - 60# bags of sackcrete (or 840#'s) on a pallet using the same setup as you've got.

    • @kubotaoflynchburg

Some things to consider are how far out is the load sitting on the pallet? And what pallet forks are you using as each brand weighs a littler different. The further forward (if there are 4 bags in a square) will dramatically reduce lift capacity. There is a little variation between each particular pump and lift on every tractor, but there are shim kits out there that can be easily installed to get a little more pressure and lift out of your system!

Nice. Doesn't seem to be much more than my B2601. I don't usually need to lift that much at once though. I haven't yet anyway.

How about larger engine displacement, much higher low-end torque, tilt, cruise and upgraded seat. Also weighs more, so it's able to lift more. Not sure the point of your comment, but...

That's about 3x what my BX will lift LOL.
