That is some good diagnostic work to chase down the problem. Good thing you fellas didn't blame the timing chain area and decide to barrel in on that as the potential problem. Great job!
Impressive! How did you determine there was a petrol leak coming from the HPFP? Was it by the look of the cam follower? There is a thread on audizine on this and similar codes related to wiring. Can put a link there to this video if you like.
@AZ09898989 we determined it by smelling the oil and changing out the HPFP. Cam follower was still ok. it was a bad seal around the pump you can put the link there, no problem
Wait... so you took bank 1 & 2 camshaft covers off & the inlet manifold before scanning the ECU for it literally to tell you what is wrong. Always scan the car first 🤦♂️
@jason Longstaff Firstly, we did not see any malfunction with the obd2 scan on cylinder bank 2, but the sound did come from cylinder bank 2 So we thought the engine was not getting any oil in the top of the head (because there was a dry running noise! ), so we took the camshaft cover off for a closer look. When we moved the high pressure pump to cylinder bank 1 there we see a malfunction on the obd2 scanner of the high pressure pump and the noise was gone on cylinder bank 2! We have removed the intake manifold for these reasons 1. we liked it😂 2. we wanted to see how the Carbon build up on the valves!
Rattling was coming from high pressure fuel pump camshaft followers’ bearings, it’s a quite common issue. You’ll never be able to detect it with VCDS. But I agree, it’s a good practice to scan for error codes first.
you doing a good job better then dealer and very clean at the engine area
i had the exact issue on my 2014 Audi RS5 and the mechanic replaced the HPFP and it solved it
In the front SGL Ceramic brakes and in rear SHW steel ?

Always those HPFP's and the Hydros Failed on so many RS6 C6, 2.0 TFSi's and TSi's it's crazy.
Top quality videos! Much appreciated!
I wish my rs5 had those seats man !!!!
