Im close to buying a 2013 version im just not sure on the reliability, the old s5 had a floor with the v8 engine things like timing belt located at the rear of the engine and can only be accessed by taking the whole engine out.
Unless you can work on it yourself the bills will be immense, timing on this 4.2 is still on the rear, any work on the engine is engine out job and not to mention the stronic gearbox reliability.
I believe you meant the "Supercharged V6" not Twin Turbo V6 correct? I had my 2014 RS5 for 6 years and it was the best years of car ownership I've had in any vehicle bar none. Especially with the facelift\changes to the second gen of the B8/8.5.
@@reachboio that really depends, you can do the minimum and do a few hundred a year but you obviously risk more work later... with cars like this staying on top of maintenance schedule I think is important. I'd say on average $3-4k per year with a major maintenance every 3 or 4 years where it can be more like $5-6k
was so looking forward to owning one of these. took it for a test drive and yeah it didnt do anything for me.. i guess its not the car i wanted after all.
Hey, I’m thinking about buying a 2011 Audi RS5 2011 model, it has 91000 kilometers. But i just wanted to know if somebody knows when problems start showing up on the car, or if its good with 91000km and how is the gearbox for them are they reliable or not?
My 2015 RS5 has just clicked over 92,000kms. Hasn't missed a beat. It's been religiously serviced - including the transmission and diff services, all with factory dealers. I think that's the key. If it has a good service history get it inspected. If it passed an independent inspection - buy it!
I am super close to buy one 2011 RS5 but the silver knob and chrome buttons at the base of the shift are not there, there are just 4 black buttons instead... are there different versions or anyone knows why is that?
This was exactly the kind of confirmation bias video I needed. I pick up my RS5 tomorrow ❤
Enjoy it
@CarandDrivingCarReviews it's awesome, easily the best car I've ever owned , definitely the best sounding. Wow. Just , wow.
Heh, I got mine earlier this year. It truly is a marvelous machine. Welcome to the club!
This car is on my list of cars that I will need for my fun factor needs 😊
This is like a Top Gear review by Clarkson from the 1990s. As in, needing more sound of that V8 & less waffling!
That was a fabulous review! Well done. 💪
thank you!
Thank you for this fantastic presentation.

That is the sound of someone speaking an Italian word with a British accent.

Oh yes. 2012 onwards got the newer functions and brushed aluminium buttons.
Try to find a 2012 or above. There are various improvements.
I am very tempted by a convertible version of this car that is not very far from me..
If you own one, you know you'll get extremely rich in future.
Why do people debadge the rs5 it's sooo stoopid to meee .
WTF MAN OR WOMAN
WOW
It's funny how he keeps quoting the numbers for a b9 rs5 while driving a b8.5.
B8.5 is an RS4. The RS5 is an 8T. And he was driving a 2011, not the 2013 facelift. So its funny how you pick on him but then make 2 mistakes yourself
