I feel like it’s been too long since I’ve shared something that I passionately love on this channel. A lot of recent things just haven’t been doing it for me, however every time I sit down to replay DMC 5 it feels just as fun as the first time. I don’t think there are words that can accurately express how much I love DMC 5, but I tried to do my best with this video.
5:53 I will always tell people that Nero is easy to learn, but hard to master character and this is a proof. Most of the people will only see his Devil Breakers, but his most important mechanic is Red Queen's Exceed and Blue Rose's charge shot
😂😂😂 This actually can go for both ways.. We got handsome men like Dante, Vergil, V and Nero and hot girls like Lady, Trish and even Nico 🤣🤣 and stylish combat and weapons and realistic graphics and everything
I've only played DMC3 so far and I think it's amazing; this one looks absolutely fantastic but I haven't tried it yet because I want to finish some of the games I already own. The other game I really want to try is Metal Gear Rising.
Metal gear rising is top tier hype. Love the combat system and raiden stops amazing character. Dmc5 tho has yet to be touched. When you choose to walk in a higher realm of life and get dmc5, but the special edition. Get all the content you can. It's all worth it.
Dude you've missed half of nero's move set. EXCEED. You rev your sword with literally every swing & ramp you speed & damage through the roof. Its tight timing but when you start to get it, oh my god it opens up so many possible combos
Since Nero doesn't have weapon switching and his sword and mechanical arms are less interesting to me than Dante and Vergil's weapons I don't play him much.
@feebleking21 do you know what EXCEED is? It's where you rev his sword engine by timing the input with each swing. Changes all of his moves, dramatically. It has 3 levels, the 3 mufflers next to neros health bar are his EXCEED gauge. You have to learn it & master it. It gives nero the depth of Dante & vergil
@@TifffanyTaylorExeeding by itself doesn’t give Nero the same depth as Dante and Vergil, the devil breakers are what makes Nero have depth on par with Dante and Vergil at high levels.
@MakioGoHardio you don't know how to use exceed at a high level if you're saying this. bringer knuckle also. every swing of red queen can be exceeded, MAX ACTed, &/or bringer knuckled. It dramatically changes the speed, damage , number of hits, & knockback/lift of all neros moves. Not to mention exceed have huge influence on the style meter. The arms do not have the depth of his base moveset. & his base moveset is so much deeper than most know. Look up high level nero players, you'll see what I'm talking about. If you know what you're looking for.
@@TifffanyTaylor lmao I have 500 hours on the game, ik what I’m talking about. devil breakers are what give Nero the depth that rivals Dante and Vergil in DMC5, look up Choco DMC5 just look at what he can do with gerbera + breaker knuckle alone.
It's as close to perfect as it's gonna get. Personally would've loved a coop mode at the end with enemy and spawn customization, think action l4d. DMD could also be more challenging, something along the lines of immortal enemies unless you get a high enough style rank so their damage resistance goes down.
Cant help but notice, whoever is doin this gameplay has not once used Neros rev ability. Not one trigger press after any slashes? How can anyone critique nero without using his most engaging mechanic??
Highly agree. I personally didn't like Nero my first couple playthroughs because I ignored the rev mechanic....yeah that was a mistake. I still prefer Dante, but Nero is his own beast.
I didn't play Nero much beyond the first playthrough due to his lack of weapon switching and I use mods to play as Dante, but I will try to use this move more when I get back to replaying DMC 5 again.
@@feebleking21 Rev was one of Nero's main features though.... the defining aspect of his weapon, and you can do it from the very beginning. I think the game even throws a tutorial for it in your face iirc (could be wrong though). Pretty gigantic oversight tbh.
To be fair I do like playing as Nero in DMC 5. In a worse action game his moveset could be better than every other character, it's just that to me Dante and Vergil are even better than that.
He doesn't use exceed or charged shot in the gameplay. I bet Nero is boring if you don't use half of his kit. It's like playing Dante without cerberus & balrag.
@@TifffanyTaylor this is completely true 90% of nero's depth does come from exceed and charged shot it literally is locking moves if you don't use them including the devil bringer knuckles
@khrinalekill-thebloodspira2531 thank you! && yeah the knuckles too. Literally every sword swing can be exceeded & knuckled. So much depth & timing & variation in every combo
I am so glad people are coming to my way of thinking for DMC6. DMC6 should be about Dante and Vergil going through Hell. It took y'all a couple years, but I'll take it.
I don't like having to figure out where to go. I like the linear levels of dmc5 but I'd like some more variety on the environment like dmc4. Dmc4 had snow areas, jungle, cities, castles. A lot more variety than just city and the Qliphoth tree.
Very cool video! I definitely would recommend giving Nero another shot, especially with the unlocked ability of the blue fist at the end of the game. This gives Nero a much more expanded way to execute new combo strings alongside his devil breakers. I wish they implemented a mode where Nero doesn't run out of his devil breakers in vanilla. But regardless, GP01 and the blue fist create amazing combo strings and I would suggest trying him out again! Cool video once again!
I will try out Nero again, but right now a lot of new games are coming out so I don't have time. I think I might have time to try Nero's other mechanics more around December or January.
For me personally the enemies were to much of a pushover, you are to strong in this system. You should have to earn the "cool license". DMC 5 hands it out for free. But i also totally see how this is more friendly towards casuals and the mid section of the curve.
@@Senumunu I can see where you’re coming from, I do wish the enemies had anti airs/air escapes and were more aggressive hopefully in DMC6 my wishes are answered, DMC has never been good at designing enemies, The Team Ninja games are much better for engaging enemy design, DMC5 isn’t really casual when you really want to be stylish for the sake of style and have thousands of hours on the game but it’s still pretty easy even if you’re a casual.
@@MakioGoHardio I've seen people be quite positive about the enemy roster of DMC 1. The smaller size of the game allowed for more deliberate design, and i've heard that there were issues in regards to having more than one of a particular enemy type on the field at once. Therefore, different enemy types had to cover ground or perform different attack types in different ways. Combo, Evasive/Defensive moves, AoE, Ranged, Grab and such.
@@jurtheorc8117 I honestly think Itsuno just doesn’t know how to design engaging enemies, either they’re more frustrating than challenging like The Fallen, Enigmas, and Soul Eaters, or they’re docile enemies that allow for you to combo infinitely with no in between basically. I heavily agree with this guy saying DMC characters are too especially in DMC5. I do agree that DMC1 enemies are the best in the series, although I don’t really play DMC for engaging enemies as I personally got into the series to learn hand breaking combos.
Nioh 2 is good and probably the best action rpg combat system ever created, but it’s not the peak of action combat that’d be NG and dmc4/5 at least imo.
@@MakioGoHardio I don't know, I wouldn't say Nioh 2 is more fun than Dmc but it's clearly better mechanically. Enemies barely do anything in Dmc games (outside of some bosses that are actually amazing) and solely exist for the player to show off while in Nioh there's a really engaging back and forth. Dmc has the best player side combat but lacks enemy side combat while Nioh is top tier in both and it's player side combat, although less "fun", still easily rivals Dmc's due to how mechanically deep it is.
@@sct77 I agree with you there, Team Ninja enemy design has always been better and more engaging in comparison to DMC enemy design, although the bosses in Team Ninja games aren’t as good as DMC. In DMC5 especially all the enemies are just punching bags built for you to stay in the air infinitely with the easy af JC with them having absolutely no anti airs or air escapes, and in dmc3/4 a lot of the enemy’s are very tedious and annoying, dmc4 had some great enemies like the Angelos tho. It’s funny how overall the enemy design in dmc1 is the best in the series, DMC enemy design has been all over the place. DMC5 could’ve had the best enemies if only they were more aggressive and had air options that you had to work around, like the Angelo from dmc4 where they used their shield to fly away, but if you broke them you could juggle them, and you also had to keep track of the other Angelo because they will anti air you if you aren’t high enough. I also think that DMC5 enemies don’t have many moves that cover a wide radius and most are just ground based attacks that are easily avoided.
@@MakioGoHardio Maybe the bosses in the previous games are better, but I only played Dmc5 and the ones I saw there were mediocre outside of the few obvious the developers put more time into. Nioh 2's bosses are amazing due to how much you can interact and counter them. The non-yokai boss are basically really engaging pvp encounters and the yokai ones have weakpoints and other weaknesses. Both have tons of moves that can be countered or parried. I once saw a player use a move where they plant their polearm on the ground, then climb on top of it and descend with an attack. This was used to dodge a low kick spinning wheel move from a boss that has wheels for legs. If the boss design wasn't amazing, they would have just pressed the dodge button, but they were able to counter it with their own attack and on top of that, the wheels are the boss's weakpoint, so the descending attack from the player instantly staggered the boss. Similar things can be done with tons of other bosses and I always find myself replaying cIips of good players on slowmo just to appreciate this kind of moment, so I wouldn't say they're worse or even on the same level as the ones I saw in Dmc5 outside of a few of them.
@@MakioGoHardio I only played Dmc5 so I don't know about the rest, but only a few bosses in there were on the same level as Team Ninja's average boss. The average boss in Dmc5 was pretty boring and felt like a dmg sponge while Nioh bosses are way more engaging and interactive.
Dante definitely still loves his older brother. In *DMC5: Visions of V* manga physical book, the moment when Vergil was resurrected, there is a panel showing Dante shedding a single tear. This franchise is called "devil may cry" after all.
Its sad that people don't enjoy V... I love summoners and he makes me feel so happy whenever I play him. Although the hardest since you have to constantly cancel attacks to help your summons escape damage, but he just feels so nice, sure, the worst from the 4, but i still really love his gameplay
I also loveV and enjoy Shadow, Griffin and Nightmare, but V can't just dodge on his own without Shadow and Griffin, you have to stop your combos and save V from some enemies and you have to keep your eyes on their health bars
@@Omega-jg4oq but you can use that to save the summons as well. In the harder difficulties you have to constantly cancel their attacks to help them dodge.
@@SonicluNerdGamer I agree, but I wish Griffin and Shadow had more combos or maybe V should have more summoning and I love that Nightmare can move automatically and you can control him if you stand on his back and deal tbe final blow without having to make V stabb them
I always assumed it ended how it did for the sequel which I’m guessing with have us needing to rescue them from hell and show how things ended. I just hope the new Dante actor is able to match. Sadly just saw video of Dante’s vc retiring.
Its not really a problem of Nero being boring, its more of a case of Dante and Virgil being the Goku and Vegeta of this game. They're meant to feel like the most overloaded/overpowered characters I feel. I loved the feeling of ending fights with no arms left as Nero. Being forced to switch my playstyle was fun to me.
This exactly and in dmc4 Nero was the character I hated the most cause he just seemed like a dork and nothing like Dante or Vergil even tho they were they were trying HARD to act like he was the same.
In defense of V, the rest of the characters can feel quite similar to each other after a while, so it is nice to swap to him for a radically different playstyle as like a pallet clenser. Plus if you really hate him you can just turn on auto combos and watch cool stuff happen. Still easily the weakest character but I think he's neat
Holy shit another manga Vergil pfp and yeah I agree. Vergil has by far the best character arc in the series. Can’t believe they actually got me attached to V as a character so I was sad when he faded away at the end 😭.
2 fun facts: 1- u can parry all vergil moves and punish him which make the fight shorter and same goes against dante 2- in dante boss fight doing enough damage will knock him out of his dt/sdt form
I disagree a bit on your analysis of Nero, but I liked the video overall! I just started playing this game a few weeks ago and I can't stop! I love action games, but this is my favorite.
Honestly I think Nero is fine with only having one main weapon, Red Queen has one of the most in-depth devilarm movesets because of the exceed mechanic, I do think arm switching should be a thing in the next game but everything about Nero comes from red queen and having another main weapon would just kinda make him another Dante
1: play bayonetta 1. Once you get its combat system it is imo peak and it gets more fun as it gets more difficult. It really hits the combat is a dance vibe perfectly. Flaw is the set pieces at times makea full game playthroughs a bit less fun solely because combat is so good you want more of that and less of the set pieces. 2: Nero is great. Learn his exceed mechanic and work on mixing his charge bullets into combos to extend them and he is really fun. He's not as far from the other 2 as the video gives me the impression you have. Heck with his arms since you can set the loadout its easy to plan sequences based on when you use the moves that break them.
the thing about the story, is that Vergil killed a lot a people .Like you see a the corpse of the civilians scattered around the map and Dante says nothing about it.
I grew up with Devil May Cry since I was 4, all the way back in 2009. I started with DMC 4, and since i was a kid, i never really got far in that game, but everything else from the music, to the characters stuck with me. Fast forward to 2011, I finally beat the damn game on Son of Sparda, and then moved on to DMC 3 to get my ass kicked for another year before I beat it, But man did it feel good to just play those games. I got so excited when i heard a new DMC got revealed, but alas the series got rebooted and the characters i grew up loving were gone (i did not finish the reboot until 2020). DMC as a franchise has been a landmark for my childhood, with DMC 3 being one of my favourite games of all time. So as a legacy fan, you could only guess my dumbfounded reaction once DMC 5 got announced, I was literally weeping from the sheer emotions. When the game itself came out, i was not disappointed. Currently i have well over a 100 hours into DMC 5 and everytime I start a fresh run, i just get emotional because it is still surreal to me, that this game actually came out.
Weird to see this video because earlier this week I watched a video from a guy who think its kind if bad. "DMC fans ruined action games". Interesting video. The duality of man.
I am curious, what do you think this game should have from the reboot's levels? I play both a lot but DMC5 imo is better with it's levels mostly. The few things missing are arenas with verticality and deathpits, but those need to be integrated better into the combat system first because they were kind of underwhelming even in the reboot, the most they did is let you juggle butchers into instakills.
Nero is Made for new players for the franchise, he is supposed to be very basic but he is really fun when You always trying perfect those revs. The only issues I have with dmc5 is levels environment diversiry, half of the Game You are stuck in the tree and somehow felt with less gothic artistic design.
I haven't played a Devil May Cry game in probably 15 years DMC 2 was the last one that I played I think it's time that I change that it's been long enough this game looks amazing I've heard people mention it over the last couple of years
I just prefer dmc 5 vergil over dmc 3 because he has more moves and the doppelganger. The dmc 5 dante fight is my favorite in the game demolishing the game as vergil and then having a surprise dante boss at the end that was a big skill gap. I see where your getting at that there is more running away but the music, graphics, and combat put together makes me love these boss fights even more. Lastly the dante boss fight is a step up from the one in dmc 3 where it is a red vergil
I don't quite agree with your take on the differences between the final battles between Dante and Virgil for DMC 3 and 5 because in my experience, I've never had to run from Virgil and I've always been able to take the fight to him with Royal guard and just regular devil trigger which will temporarily get past the armor. You can also get past this armor with cavalier pretty easily or other sword master attacks. There's dozens of ways to counter Virgil in his sin devil trigger mode I definitely advise looking up other players fighting against Virgil cuz you will see how the summoned blades help you out in more ways than one.
In DMC 5 you can play aggressive against Vergil's devil trigger, while in DMC 3 you have to play aggressive against Vergil's devil trigger, which is the main difference that makes me prefer DMC 3's Vergil fight. And although you can fight Vergil's sin devil trigger with your own it will only result in the game making it harder for you to get hits on Vergil than if he was human, so your dps will be lower for higher skilled play.
To be frank this is exactly why I like DMC 5 better. Doom Eternal was kinda ruined imo by this whole idea of forcing the player to play in the intended/fun way, DMC 5 I think is better because it always rewards the most fun way to play but it is never desperate to make you play that way.
Im a fifth done with the video, im getting the feeling the true message of the video is 40% DMC5 is fun and 60% Ive been having a lot of fun studying improv
the reason why souls took of is bcs Miyazaki put a stamina meter into the system so every idiot understands where and when his turn is. action games like DMC, especially the harder, older ones dont have a stamina meter. this filters a lot of people since you have to learn the turn orders. you either have stamina or you have sick combos. you cant have both.
To be fair I don't hate that V exists for people who want to play as him. I just dislike that they don't let you select who you want to play without mods because I like playing as Dante so much.
Hey Feeble King, with Quadruple S you can do pretty much any SDT move except the blackhole, due to time constraints. So feel free to use the stinger or ground pound or what have you. I forgot the exact time but I think you get like 6 secondsish for SDT with Quadruple S? Something like that.
Honestly I get scared when I get a quadruple S and spam the attack button because I don't want to mess it up, but I'll try to do more cool stuff next time I play through the game.
@@feebleking21 Go at your own pace bro, having fun is what matters. Just giving you a tip on my favorite DMC5 skill. God, that thing is so gratifying to use.
I feel like you're missing the point of what level and enemy design means when it comes to DMC3. Sure, environments could use some more visual variety, but you place an emphasis on design flare over gameplay. I think RUclipsr Electric Underground explained it best when he's talked about how DMC3 is built to play for scoring. Sure, you might not like having to deal with some enemy types, but you've got to learn the level route and find the quickest way to cut through them while getting enough orbs and taking as little damage as possible so you can shoot for S-rank on Dante Must Die. It's an action puzzle dance to be learned. That's why I balk at the suggestion that the world design of DMC should be more open, because the fact that DMC is in stages for scoring is what sets it apart from Dark Souls, where everyone is talking about the proper way to play that game. DMC laughs and says, "take everything, do what you want to with it because you're sure as heck going to need it." I don't really care about how connected or clever the world is in this light because exploration is not the focus of DMC.
I don't mind the linear level design of DMC 5 but it feels like 2/3ths of the game feels a bit too drab at points after mission 2 and I would welcome back interconnected level design if there is a next game. Also the lack of reversals and inertia feels odd(especially since the DMC 5 demo had reversals). The story with V feels hollow and more of an extension of Vergil than his own character. Most of V's character development is in a tie in manga(would highly recommend visions of V). 5 just feels too easy compared to the other games on all difficulties. The cameo system shows how much wasted potential there was when to came to having a proper co op/multiplayer system. Great video. Also the lack of actual alt costumes is dumb.
This game is great but if you haven't I reccomend playing kingdom hearts 2 on crit mode. I think it's the best action combat game to this day and has some of the best boss fights ive ever played. My biggest gripe with dmc5 is that, despite its good combat, it hardly gets to let its combat shine because of how fodder most enemies are.
This comment! Kingdom Hearts 2 on Critical is the perfect difficulty for the game. While the combat system is nowhere near as in depth as DMC5 or even DMC3, where Kingdom Hearts shines is in the enemy design both normal mobs and bosses. While I really like DMC normal enemies are purely style point food whereas bosses can be challenging. Kingdom Hearts has both normal enemies and bosses that can retaliate out of your combos which requires thought on when you should be aggressive or defensive. 100% recommend KH2 Crit.
yeah my first playthrough of dmc 5 was lame bc of the button mashing braindead combat. when i actively tried to get better it was super fun, but there’s not much of an incentive too
@@lukemorgan2594 exactly, the revenge mechanic for its bosses is absolute genius and can lead you to punish their punishes which makes the combat feel super fun. I love lingering will, and the final boss specifically because of this. Roxas too.
@@Sephirothkingdom782 The revenge mechanic needs to be in more action games. Roxas Sephiroth and Marluxia are my favourite boss fights in the game because of the revenge mechanic. Extend your combo too far and the bosses will retaliate. If you can find when the boss will retaliate you can on purpose drop your combo to pseudo reset the combo or punish the predicted retaliation with a Reflect. Even though Kingdom Hearts 2 has 1 attack button, it feels so in depth.
@@lukemorgan2594 yea, drive forms are sick too and are some of the few transformations that feel like ur going super Saiyan when using them lol Although I will say limit form becomes completely broken and the rest become kinda unnecessary on crit mode end game due to it having a parry button
At times and from certain angles, DMC5 does look like the best combat system designed, but it's not. There are more complex and more complete games in this series and potentially even in others, like Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden and even Nioh. And in terms of a total package, the game is one of the most flawed in the series with the awful characterization and storytelling that eliminates almost all character dev from previous games, which is an essential element of that *style* DMC is known for; some of the bosses in this game are so generic that they make Arkham look good, and the level design is sometimes ugly and uninspired along with the very confusing ranking system that even veterans couldn't quite grasp for long periods of time. The game may be fun but it's also frustrating, and as a fan I was left disappointed that this was the end result of the 11 year hiatus that could as well have been permanent. The take away is to respect the OG games and cherish them for what they are. Sometimes all you need is what you've had all along. DMC5 is still a good game but calling it the best action game is tough considering that it isn't even the best in its own series.
You must've been paid for this review directly. The story was trash. The levels are very linear. No hidden treasures. No secret levels. No extra content. And you can't even control which character you play with. You have to choose by the stage. The only thing this game has is crazy combos. Really nice combat.
It looks cool but the basic skeleton/zombie style enemies taking so many blows and being fodder turns me off. Like, I just don't find it meaningful or cool to stun lock a dozen ragdolls.
That’s honestly only 4 enemies in the entire game. There are many more than will fuck you up if you’re not careful. Especially Behemoths and Empusa Queens.
dmc5 was the first dmc game i could legaly afford and bought on release for my bday and i love it. To me personally the dmc series is the best game emotion wise and gameplay and story and huge hugs
dmc 5 is amazing but i still cant believe how messy the style point distribution is. its all over the place and varies from mission to mission and on top of that you are heavily discouraged to do optional fights that dont trap you in an arena because they can lower you average points instead of just being a bonus to your overall score. one final thing is that you get the most points for doing high damage single hit attacks like real impact instead of doing long air combos with jump cancels and weapon switches. its only a problem if you are going for s ranks on the harder difficulties but its a shame that one of the most iconic things devil may cry is known for is implemented in such a sloppy way.
I think someone really enjoyed the motorcycle chainsaws. Just a feeling Edit after watching: Some points I wanted to provide some counter arguements to: 1) Nero is actually deeper than you'd think. With his max EX, demon punching and fast DT building you can do some crazy stuff. His attacks are wide and heavy, easily sending enemies flying but with jump cancelling and the fisting you can do some pretty cool combos. Add Blue rose to the mix, and it gets even deeper! 2) The difference in Dante vs Vergil and Vergil vs Dante fights actually highlight the difference between the different characters you're playing. As Dante, Vergil demands you to be hectic. Swapping between dodging, blocking and sometimes even parying and punish his openings. Sure, you could just wait out his SDT form, but it actually is easier to try to knock him out of that phase. As Vergil, you can methodically dodge most of his attacks (there are some bullshit ones, I admit). The fact that Dante has hyper armor, can switch to RG on the fly (which, tbh is suited for his character) and can combo you from 100 - 0 are lame, I admit. But I feel that both fights pay homage to both the boss as a character, and the playable char. 3) You might have missed it, but when you do Judgement Cut End as Vergil, the music fades while you sheathe the sword, giving you the feeling you're actually cutting through time and dimensions. Little details like that really show that the devs paids a shitload of attention while creating the game. All in all: I do agree. Never was a game able to make me laugh like a little kid while pummeling enemies into dust while the character on screen seems to have the same amount of fun as me. Great video, here's to hoping to DMC6 in the near future!
Dmc5 enimes not good as dmc3 because most of the enemies in dmc5 are useless easy to defeat doing combo not only thing for action games even doing jc is so easy in dmc5 old dmc hard to do air combos that is fun where you need practice dmc5 is so easy

Rev was one of Nero's main features though.... the defining aspect of his weapon, and you can do it from the very beginning. I think the game even throws a tutorial for it in your face iirc (could be wrong though).
Pretty gigantic oversight tbh.
The nero slander will not go unchecked ;)
To be fair I do like playing as Nero in DMC 5. In a worse action game his moveset could be better than every other character, it's just that to me Dante and Vergil are even better than that.
@@feebleking21 nah you’re aloud to have your opinion it was a joke referencing “he’s just deadweight” 🤣
42 minutes Dmc5 glazing. Absolutely based.
I am so glad people are coming to my way of thinking for DMC6. DMC6 should be about Dante and Vergil going through Hell. It took y'all a couple years, but I'll take it.
Them going through the Demon Realm just like The Divine Comedy depicted would be great.
If only dmc5 the level design of dmc3
I'm not sure about that, I didn't like Dmc3 tower levels design
@@Omega-jg4oq I mean that bloody tower on the way to vergil
I don't like having to figure out where to go. I like the linear levels of dmc5 but I'd like some more variety on the environment like dmc4. Dmc4 had snow areas, jungle, cities, castles. A lot more variety than just city and the Qliphoth tree.
@Grifffffith Agreed 👍 I grew up loving dmc3 and dmc4 is alright
Ngl, running back and forth to get key items and fit them in slots gets really old on repeat playthroughs.
Nioh 2 and Dmc5 are the peak of action combat.
@@ibrahimbaghdadi2187 what? I know... The game is great... And everyone loves the game... Who said anything about the game?

@@Omega-jg4oq but you can use that to save the summons as well. In the harder difficulties you have to constantly cancel their attacks to help them dodge.

I always assumed it ended how it did for the sequel which I’m guessing with have us needing to rescue them from hell and show how things ended. I just hope the new Dante actor is able to match. Sadly just saw video of Dante’s vc retiring.
That's a brilliant idea for DMC 6: Dante and Virgil traveling down through the circles of Hell. Good review, made me re-install.
this and nioh 2 are probably the only games i can come back to and always feel satisfied
I agree this game has helped me get through life
In defense of V, the rest of the characters can feel quite similar to each other after a while, so it is nice to swap to him for a radically different playstyle as like a pallet clenser.
Plus if you really hate him you can just turn on auto combos and watch cool stuff happen.
Still easily the weakest character but I think he's neat
I recommend reading Visions Of V. It adds more depth to Vergil and V
Holy shit another manga Vergil pfp and yeah I agree. Vergil has by far the best character arc in the series. Can’t believe they actually got me attached to V as a character so I was sad when he faded away at the end 😭.
2 fun facts:
1- u can parry all vergil moves and punish him which make the fight shorter and same goes against dante
2- in dante boss fight doing enough damage will knock him out of his dt/sdt form
Really good analysis. Love the length, love the nitty gritty points while doing a playthrough type rundown. Reminds me of my fav reviewer Marsh.
I disagree a bit on your analysis of Nero, but I liked the video overall! I just started playing this game a few weeks ago and I can't stop! I love action games, but this is my favorite.

Love this game!
Bro really loves the motorcycle 😂
Honestly I think Nero is fine with only having one main weapon, Red Queen has one of the most in-depth devilarm movesets because of the exceed mechanic, I do think arm switching should be a thing in the next game but everything about Nero comes from red queen and having another main weapon would just kinda make him another Dante
Playing other games with "this isn't like dmc5" mentality will ruin gaming for you, also watch a Nero beginner guide you need it.
1:14 "...& turns you into the artist". Apt description
Capcom 3rd person action, both DMC5 And Monster Hunter, is 100% untouched
the thing about the story, is that Vergil killed a lot a people .Like you see a the corpse of the civilians scattered around the map and Dante says nothing about it.
Yeah I just watched it too and I do agree with both of them but dmc5 is VERY flawed and it's still my favorite game ever.

If only this game had DMC Reboots level design.
I am curious, what do you think this game should have from the reboot's levels? I play both a lot but DMC5 imo is better with it's levels mostly. The few things missing are arenas with verticality and deathpits, but those need to be integrated better into the combat system first because they were kind of underwhelming even in the reboot, the most they did is let you juggle butchers into instakills.
you should make a video of your top 10 games

Nero is Made for new players for the franchise, he is supposed to be very basic but he is really fun when You always trying perfect those revs.
The only issues I have with dmc5 is levels environment diversiry, half of the Game You are stuck in the tree and somehow felt with less gothic artistic design.

Why do you waiting for? go and play it.. You would wish you played it earlier, I have never touched Dmc2 and I never will
I just prefer dmc 5 vergil over dmc 3 because he has more moves and the doppelganger. The dmc 5 dante fight is my favorite in the game demolishing the game as vergil and then having a surprise dante boss at the end that was a big skill gap. I see where your getting at that there is more running away but the music, graphics, and combat put together makes me love these boss fights even more. Lastly the dante boss fight is a step up from the one in dmc 3 where it is a red vergil
i need to replay this game again sometime. vergil was so fucking ridiculous but godDAMN he was fun
I do hope we get more dmc in future

Imagine if you could do insane combos in Soulsbornes just like in DMC5.
Dante would solo all of souls, Radahn would fly into the sky and crash down as a meteor and Dante would just taunt and then "ROYAL GUARD!"
Play Nioh 2
Then they wouldn't be soulsborne games. There is a mod that does this btw, it's called carian combo warriors and it's fun for like...5 minutes.
That would be a bad idea. Soulsborne games are great as they are.
the reason why souls took of is bcs Miyazaki put a stamina meter into the system so every idiot understands where and when his turn is.
action games like DMC, especially the harder, older ones dont have a stamina meter.
this filters a lot of people since you have to learn the turn orders. you either have stamina or you have sick combos. you cant have both.
I didn't see bro command grab with Nero or JC once 🤣
You should try Ultrakill, its basically Doom DMC.
Don't hate on my boy V ;(
To be fair I don't hate that V exists for people who want to play as him.

@@jeess174 It was an ironic joke. Cavalier kicks a$$.
Hell yeah
@@lukemorgan2594 yea, drive forms are sick too and are some of the few transformations that feel like ur going super Saiyan when using them lol

It's pretty okay but have you played Omikron: The Nomad Soul? 🙃
The title is true, but since this is Feeble slop his points are destined to be as deep as a puddle.
Oh dear.
DMC3 is still the best, but DMC5 is no slouch neither..
Sifu might be worth a look
Sifu is amazing.
Sifu is amazing. But judging by his opinions on sote… I think he would hate it with a passion.
You must've been paid for this review directly. The story was trash. The levels are very linear. No hidden treasures. No secret levels. No extra content. And you can't even control which character you play with. You have to choose by the stage.
The only thing this game has is crazy combos. Really nice combat.
Always been but the problem is what's for future? As itsuno san left it.
It's actually really endearing how much you love the game.
Thoughts on the Bayonetta series compared to DMC?
It looks cool but the basic skeleton/zombie style enemies taking so many blows and being fodder turns me off. Like, I just don't find it meaningful or cool to stun lock a dozen ragdolls.
That’s honestly only 4 enemies in the entire game. There are many more than will fuck you up if you’re not careful. Especially Behemoths and Empusa Queens.
So you'd say this game is like a 4 out of 10, slightly better than Erdtree?
dmc5 was the first dmc game i could legaly afford and bought on release for my bday and i love it. To me personally the dmc series is the best game emotion wise and gameplay and story and huge hugs
can you ctrl f the word "ever" in your script rq, i wanna see something
dmc 5 is amazing but i still cant believe how messy the style point distribution is. its all over the place and varies from mission to mission and on top of that you are heavily discouraged to do optional fights that dont trap you in an arena because they can lower you average points instead of just being a bonus to your overall score. one final thing is that you get the most points for doing high damage single hit attacks like real impact instead of doing long air combos with jump cancels and weapon switches.
its only a problem if you are going for s ranks on the harder difficulties but its a shame that one of the most iconic things devil may cry is known for is implemented in such a sloppy way.
a masterpiece video for a masterpiece game

Bump
You must not have played Wonderful 101. If you dont like it its only because youre not good at it.
I think someone really enjoyed the motorcycle chainsaws. Just a feeling
Edit after watching: Some points I wanted to provide some counter arguements to:
1) Nero is actually deeper than you'd think.
Now play ultra kill!!
No offense, but from your commentary combined with your gameplay, I don't think you understand the appeal of Nero at all.
No is not 💀
