i'd say going forward, dmc should retain multiple protagonists because the fanbase is at the point where sure we have people who prefer dante, like my self, but we have a lot of people who were introduced with 4 who prefers nero's playstyle and character, i don't think we should have a new dante solo game (unless it's a remake) because it would alienate the nero fanbase, ideally, a 6th game would have nero, dante and vergil fighting with 6 missions each and a mechanic that after completion allows you to change which character to play as like the rumoured divergence mode.
I like that idea a lot actually because I do think all of the characters need their time to shine and it's not like I want to see the characters go away either.
@@thebiggeridiot the only other main character is Nero but he isn't or wasn't ever worthy of becoming the main character. Now if we should have him be the main character again then Dante's gonna be so old again at that point.
I never claimed he didn't have depth but it would be pretty dumb to not expand that arsenal especially if he's meant to fully replace Dante & Vergil. Much like Vergil, Nero has literally had the same stuff with a handful of additions in the course of a little over a decade at this point not giving him more would be an insult especially when they literally introduced Nico who can just craft various fire arms, equipment and even likely devil arms, no pun intended, that share similar functionality to Red Queen.
Nero is literally his own Character in DMC4,in DMC5 he is just carbon copy of Dante,he is better when he is REAL NERO,a hard head good hearted kid. and his developement is literally poorly written in DMC5,Credo as his character developement? that is literally forceful developement, not to mention they didnt have enough screen time or have to no developement together rather than lore dump like "Nero live with Kyrie along Credo since they was small",info dump isnt enough, you need to SHOW developement.
I could understand how shoehorning Nero into the spotlight and leaving Dante fans out to dry would be a bad thing, but I don't think they did that in 5. I'm replaying through dmc5 right now trying to beat DMD for the first time, and I think they did Dante a lot of justice in this game in terms of keeping him relevant in the story. Dante is the one to beat Urizen, and at every point where he is not unconscious in the story, he is essentially the main hope of the characters, with Nero basically just trying to catch up. The only way for Nero to have any less impact on the story would be for him to not show up to the brothers' fight at the end of the game, and then we're basically just replaying DMC3.
DMC can't work without Dante. I wanted to play as Dante more than anyone else because he's the half demon with more styles and weapons. Plus, I've seen his journey. Nero is similar to Dante and even uses the name of his business. It feels like he's supposed to idolize him, not replace. I wouldn't mind playing as Dante, Nero, and Vergil. Nero could get some new devil breakers, maybe his DT changes when he switches. Vergil can finally change his weapons. Dark Slayer can adapt to each weapon. I didn't mind how his gameplay worked in DMC 5 but maybe he uses other doppelganger methods. There's room to build and three characters is enough.
I absolutely agree with this like just sitting down and even thinking about the possibility for improvements that the developers are over looking is really big and even still talking witj fans you could think of an idea and either a fan will point out how to make that idea even better or point out other ideas you never thought of before. So the room to constantly improve is here for this franchise it's just a matter of seeing that be realized. Maybe fans just have to start working at Capcom on this series or create games inspired by it to create competition 🤔?
For me without Itsuno and Rueben Langdon and Johnny Young Bosch replacing Dante as the new VA for the anime I think I'm good with the game series which is left open ended on DMCV. Capcom can just do the Disney route remake the older titles then just DLC the hell out of them DRDR is the best example of that.
While not exactly how I feel I do agree that if we just ended off with 5 I can't say I'm not happy with how things turned out. Even though it took a really long time 5 came out after years of fans demanding for it.
Everyone panicking about Dante and Vergil being replaced is nuts, they're superhuman half-demons, this is just another 'HEIHACHI IS DEAD... sike sike sike lol lol lol'. The real tragedy is the possibility of Reuben Langdon never returning as Dante. Whatever you think about the guy (and let's be real he's a pretty far out character), he is Dante the same way Southworth is Vergil... Don't even get me started on the Netflix VO choices O_O
You bring up a fair point in that might actually have never intended that to be the case and would likely bring those characters back regardless. To add to your point too the writers can always introduce stronger antagonists that surpass Dante and Vergil as they are currently. I also agree with you about the VAs but I will say as I said in my recent video talking about the Netflix adaptation that I personally don't mind that Johnny is voicing Dante since he's at least familiar with the characters from the series and to be fair that iteration of the character is the youngest we've seen Dante where we do get to hear his voice.
I really don't like reducing DMC down to "the Dante franchise" because the games haven't solely been about him. Comparing Nero to the amount of times comic books have had to deal with a new character showing up and suddenly the old established character looks like a wimp (Peter and Miles), Dante is still respected and given screentime while Nero is allowed to grow. There's so much I want to say about this.
That's not what I'm saying. Especially when I literally said I'd like for the focus between him, Dante and Vergil among any other character to be more evenly focused on rather than an 80/20 or 70/30 split as it has been with 4 and 5.
Its series suicide to make any other character get the spotlight other than dante. I mean such a underrated series finally gets the spotlight and attention it deserved then people saying that Dante should step aside.
Yeah this is something I personally have never agreed with which is why I wanted to talk about it in this video. It's not like I hate Nero but there are some major issues with him in my opinion both from a narrative standpoint but also from a gameplay standpoint more so.
Dante's story was already done in DMC1. He avenged his family and killed Mundus. He didn't have anywhere else to grow after that. DMC3 got away with it by being a prequel so they could show how Dante became the way he is in DMC1. Nero on the other hand actually still has room to grow
@@jeess174 Dante's entire motivation that had been driving him ever since he was a child had been resolved in his very first appearance. Where do you take the character after the thing that defines them has been resolved? There's no place else for Dante to go after that. Sure Nero isn't as cool as Dante but the only person who can even match how cool Dante is, is his own twin brother. Nobody can ever live up to how cool Dante is
There's little evidence to support that conclusion. The series has already survived transitioning Dante to a secondary protagonist. Just fine, I might add. Between 4 and 5, they've sold 14M copies of games that don't star Dante, meaning a huge chunk of the playerbase past and present have played games with Nero as the primary lead. And, be honest, would you feel the same way about a Vergil solo game? The only things they did with Dante in continuity after 2 was having him "be a legend" and fight Vergil again. His entire arc after 1 was focused on Vergil, and it basically amounted to just not fighting him. And the impetus for that was Nero, not anything within Dante. The only games starring Dante I'd accept at this point is Kamiya's DMC2 with Dante and Trish, which presumably wouldn't have featured Vergil or Mundus, or some new threat in 6 or w/e. If it's just Mundus again, the devs will have proved that Itsuno or no, they don't have any idea of what to do with Dante. And after the last four games, that's the impression I have. Morihashi, by his own admission, doesn't get Dante, and like Itsuno prefers Vergil and Nero, so it might be better that he focuses on characters he prefers until someone who actually does get Dante comes along. Someone like Kamiya.
I think that's actually a really good take honestly. Have the best of both old and new. Although I do wonder if a remake of 2 would still go by that or would it change to fit better with the rest of the series?
@@OfficialBioDevil yeah DMC 2 might have the biggest changes but hopefully they keep Lucia and such cause she's such an underutilized character and I hope they can bring her back in the DMC series plus for DMC 1 and 3 you just need to update the graphics on the buildings and some small changes to the map layout for combo sections to be done
While I like Itsuno I did feel like he held Dante back narratively(and I guess part of that blame could also lay on Bingo Morihashi) and Nero back gameplay wise. Like there's a lot Dante could have done like try to expand his business(which he kind of did between 4&5 by giving Nero the blue neon DMC sign), maybe try to build his own family like his father before him, or Dante discovering what exactly happened to his Dad. Also for Nero Itsuno himself made the decision to not allow Nero to have breaker switching which in my opinion is against the free flow nature of combos modern DMC is know and enjoyed for(there’s a reason DMC 3 has style switching mods and a whole Switch port with style switching as a selling point along with DMC 5 having a breaker switching mod). Not to downplay on mirage slayer Vergil in Peak of combat but it just looks like the devs him Aquila with a slightly different moveset and Force Edge's/Mirage Edge's mid air round trip so I wouldn't call it entirely new. While yes Itsuno was always going to move on I think fans wouldn't have this reaction if Itsuno somehow left a lead successor or something. Along with Itsuno and Dante's main VA Reuben Langdon has apparently retired from acting so at least for western fans like myself and fans who like the western dub of the DMC games whoever capcom gets to replace Dante has some big shoes to fill. It's weird enough having Nero's VA voice Dante in the Netflix show's trailer(not saying Johnny is a bad VA but he's already voicing Nero). As for Nero's motivation in DMC 5 I feel like you didn't give it enough credit as Nero in 5 feels like he has something to prove to Dante and for himself especially after he lost his devil bring(the thing that makes him different from Dante and a decent part of his demonic power/identity that or I just looked to deep into it). Also DMC 4 needs a remake. At the moment Devil may cry is back in limbo.
It's a fair point. I was more so just pointing out that rather than having the same three weapons for every game you'd think that like Dante he'd at least see one new or different weapon he hasn't used before. To be fair I wouldn't be opposed to them making a scythe for either Dante or Vergil and pulling moves from DmC along with adding in original moves as well to make it over all a better weapon than Osiris from DmC.
I'm ok with Dante and Vergil's saga actually ends and Nero would be the main character of the series. But it would be awesome if they add rebellion, yamato, ebony & ivory as unlock-able weapons along with their movesets
i feel like Dante and Vergil is just as essential as calling the game Devil May Cry.. they are literally infused with the title. Dante is pulling so much for the IP, missing him as a playable character would be a huge mistake
I have to agree with everything you said. To add on, I’m glad Itsuno has left since I feel from DMC4 onwards, the games have felt less like Resident Evil with action and demons and more like a shounen anime. Dante also was always intended to be a power fantasy character set in this gothic horror universe, like the Doomslayer, so him being overpowered and not having much invested in the lore is the point. He’s suppose to be someone we jump into the shoes of and kick demon ass which is why DMC1 and DMC3 are still my favorites in the series. Nero, while I like him, is too much like Ichigo and other shounen protagonists which doesn’t deviate Devil May Cry enough from other franchises gaming or non gaming. I would like to see Deluxe Remasters or Remakes of the first four Devil May Cry games but for DMC6 the franchise needs to return to Dante exclusively and bring back the non stop action and Resident Evil like puzzles the earlier games had.
Nero is a good character for sure. The problem is he is a more traditional protagonist in comparison to Dante. Dante was this whacky character who skateboarded on demons and could style on his foes with a motorcycle. Nero in comparison is a more orthodox fighter and character. Still good mind you, but imo he will never be able to fill the void that Dante will.
@@Me-jf2oo I don't think he's the more Orthodox sort of protagonist. He's kind of a snarky asshole with some anger issues. Which is a bit different from Dante (and Vergil since he's not really an antagonist anymore). While Dante does stunt on demons to be silly, Nero does sort of the same thing, though more trying to be cool yet snarky, while Dante is more silly and having fun with it. They aren't that different from each other. With how Nero is now, I don't think he really needs to replace Dante, more like replace his presence in the human world at least for a while. DMC doesnt usually feature just a solo character anyway. I think it's a pretty turn of events, that Sparda left the demon world to be in the human world. And his son's then leave than human world to go in the demon world, and one of their sons is left to finish what was started. He's kind of both their legacy. Vergil by direct blood and Dante by trade and heart. This opens up opportunity to see how Nero handles being the main devil hunter and trying to hold up the expectation of the business he inherited and his dynamic with its partners like Lady and Trish, while Dante and Vergil deal with things in the demon realm. Since it's been a long time the bloodline of Sparda has been in. We can find out more about Sparda and the dynamic of how the demon realm has become since that time and the fall of Mundus.
Imagine a franchise making you play a different new character other then the the original main character... *Metal Gear Solid 2 with Raiden.* In truth I think the games should be like this... DMC6: Nero solo adventure that give him more time to shine to see how he does. DMC7: The Adventures of the Sparda twins in Hell... Focused mostly on Vergil as the main character and Dante as the secondary main character. Gives Vergil a chance to redeem himself for his past actions. DMC8 Lady's night: the in-universe Dante simp aka Lucia (because she is), finds a new threat that she needs help with and goes to ask for Dante to help only to get stuck with Lady and Trish. She complains every so often at the start about how unfair it is that Dante is gone. The three women become a good team, get some character development and upgraded combat mechanics. A chance for them to be the main characters again. DMC9 and DMC10 could either be a Sparda game, another Nero solo game and/or another team up game like DMC5 but with every character. I think we have so many fun characters that there is a lot they could do if everyone gives other characters time to shine.
The problem with Metal Gear as an example is that yes even that was a controversy at the time because people wanted to play as Snake. Granted that came with every re release of 2 but only after the fact. And at least with Metal Gear as a franchise outside of Japan it didn't really take off in popularity until the original Metal Gear Solid. And so in a way you could make an argument where changing changing characters after "the first game" (even though it's technically the third canonical game) isn't as big of a deal. To be fair both Raiden and Nero share one thing in common in that later iterations overall improve build upon the character and lore surrounding them. Personally I'd also say that I do think overall in Metal Gear's case the other characters Raiden & Big Boss aka Naked Snake are far more interesting than Solid Snake.
DMC 6 can be explored with Nero doing odd jobs after several years of no demon appearing in human world. Not to mention he could be a father figure better than Vergil. A hardworking father that work to support his family 😂
To be fair DMC4 was originally going to have a similar concept where Dante would be going through hell in his half of the story while Nero would be fighting in the human world.
My prediction is it will feature Dante and Vergil in Hell and Nero and Lady in the overworld, or if Dante and Vergil arent in it, Lady would have Dante's moveset
You know I don't think that's too far fetched. Afterall the original storyline for DMC4 was supposed to be much bigger and both Dante and Nero were supposed to have equal amounts of story & play time. One of the things that specifically was cut was Dante going to hell and having to wear a set of winter based gear due to the below freezing temperatures of the circle of hell he was traversing through.
Ive always loved nero maybe its johhny young bosche but its probably cause his play style is more my speed compared Trick sword, sword trick,guard,TRI-Sword
Sprada's twin story is finished but I don't think they're gonna be replaced or cut off from the future games entirely. It probably mean they already resolved their conflict. And story won't focus on that matter anymore. Look from what the dev did with cameo system in 5. I think It's thier little experiment to see if Co-op would work well for DMC gameplay. So they could implement it better in future game. It would be a huge missed opportunity to not include the twin in hell session if that's the case.
In terms of the story that's where my problem is mostly. The plot point was reintroduced when technically speaking it was already completed in DMC3. Really I think they should just give of stories that just follow these characters taking on major jobs and focusing on bigger threats which at least seems like it might be the case moving forward. The cameo system isn't even really new from Capcom either since they did something similar to it in Resident Evil 6 back on PS3 & Xbox 360. That said I'd love to see them expand on it and also include bloody palace co op as an option. There's a huge missed opportunity for having co op being a major feature in these games in my opinion.
I just hope they make enemies more complex and aggressive and also add more moves that can be used for dodging mid comboing so the combat would feel more engaging, right now you basically pick an enemy combo him, pick another enemy combo him as hard as possible so he wouldn’t be able to attack. And also option to choose a character smh…
I agree with that because I still feel that Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition is the best balanced game within in the series to this day. 4 had enemies that were too defensive heavy and 5 while closer to 3 it wasn't perfect.
I mean I'm not going to stop you from thinking that. My point is more so that given the popularity of Dante writing him off for Nero who's barely grown as a character and also more so from a gameplay standpoint lacking in something that's been standard since the original game, a variety of weapons to use, he's not a good replacement currently.
DMC5 was the perfect love letter to all of us DMC fans. I’m fine with it ending from that BUUUUUTTT I will not be fully satisfied without a DMC3 remake that’s all I want🙏🙏🙏
their needs to be atleat one more game for nero to fully take over if they want to change dante out for nero. as is nero hasn't fully come into his own they also badly need to give nero more weapon variety if he is going to become a full time mc. the best plot for the 6th game would be solving the mystery of what happened to sparda and focus on tying up dante and virgils stories
Hard disagree on Nero. Nero really came into his own with dmc5 and i think he should be the main character of at least one more game. Dante and Vergil should come back but the ending of 5 clearly shows nero is now the main lead of dmc. Honestly i think my want for dmc6 is mundus returning at long last, dante and vergil fighting him in the underworld while nero handles things on earth. With the 3 fighting together at the end to defeat him once and for all. Give dante and vergil time to show their relationship being rebuilt, show Vergil's growth after the events of 5, and have nero show off what he can do as the lead and bearing the responsibility of being the protector of earth from demons.
I'd like to make the argument that Nero is a deeper character than everyone gives him credit for Hes had 2 arcs so far In 4 his arc was learning to accept himself. He hated his demon arm and kept it hidden because he was afraid of being a demon and thought it could corrupt him and make him unworthy of Kyrie's love. Through her acceptance he could find his own. In 5, yes his motivation was being called a deadweight but think about WHY it upset him so much and it makes more sense as to why he was so upset. He couldnt protect Credo, and without Dante he wouldn't have been able to save Kyrie. And to top it all off, someone just waltzed into his garage and ripped his arm off without even a chance to fight. He already feels like he isnt strong enough to protect the ones he cares about, and Dante rubbing it in makes him feel absolutely pathetic and worthless. In 5 his arc is gaining power, in a mirror to Vergil, but unlike Vergil he doesnt lose sight of what its all for. He needs power to protect his loved ones and upon finding out Vergil is his father, his family too. So in a desperate moment to save the only blood family he has left, he unlocks his Devil Trigger to put an end to the Sibling Rivalry, thus ending the Sons of Sparta storyline in the process. Its a beautiful expansion to his character and a lovely ending to the brothers' constant fighting. Nero isnt Dante and thats a good thing, no one could compare to the legendary devil hunter, but to say he's shallow or poorly written is a falsehood i've always hated. I do agree that he should get more additions to his arsenal of weapons though and I hope to see that in future installments. I dont mind if Nero becomes the main protagonist that we mostly follow, but they shouldnt just get rid of Dante and Vergil entirely of course.
To addresses this let me just start by saying personally I preferred his story in 4, which ironically enough at the time the game came out people hated Nero and called him a "Dante clone" or would say that he "cries too much" but if anything I felt that his story in 4 was a little reminiscent of Sparda and Eva. In a way you could argue that Nero coincidentally has more personality traits from Sparda given that he doesn't just make the same mistakes that Vergil made as you've pointed out. Let me be clear in that while I get what they were going for with 5 tbe reason why I personally didn't like it so much was because it felt like on paper it sounds good but then in execution it feels like at least for his part of the story you just go through a watered down Devil May Cry 3. I sometimes jokingly refer to 5 as Nero's Awakening because thr story beats feel similar but worse in the sense that it feels like he's just getting easy hand outs because the plot demands it. I don’t hate the character personally but with 5 I really started to change my opinion on the character a little more because of it. Ultimately that's why I want to see a new director who doesn't have bias for any of the characters or even for new characters and just focuses on giving proper balance between them for the story and over all improves the writing around them. That saod I appreciate you taking the time to write out a more thought provoking comment. Don't really get a whole lot of that.
@@OfficialBioDevil Yeah theres always room for improvement in terms of execution. No problem btw dude, I love typing essays about my opinions. Keeps me sharp lol.
I enjoyed playing as nero in 4 because even though he was a very basic character hia motivation was kind of noble i guess? In 5 he just seems like a jerk and his only motivation is dead weight. I did like his battle with vergil at the end tho
Yeah that's similar to how I feel and in fact I would go as far as to say in DMC4 he's more similar to Sparda than Dante and Vergil in terms of his personality.
@OfficialBioDevil i don't really know alot about sparda as a character, but I would say that nero kind of lacks any character traits to empathize with in 5
Im not the brightest but cant Vergil and Dante leave the underworld at anytime with the yamato? Doesn't it cut through space? Im ok if 5 was the last because it is the best action game I've played
It's a fair point and to be honest at any point a writer & director for a new Devil May Cry game could just have them come back going against enemies that are even stronger than they're used to.
If they remake Devil May Cry 2 I will respect Capcom a lot yeah I see and understand now playing DMC 4 and 5 how Nero is kind of a pain and being honest with myself I'm just waiting for Dante to show up again lol also does anyone convey the reboot like this: DmC and the regular series like this dmc/DMC
To be fair I think the weapons from that game could be taken and be made better over plus some of the moves from DmC have been taken and applied to Vergil.
I am praying they make a dmc 6 because when it comes to capcoms other major franchises for me my perfect monster hunter, resident evil, and street fighter already exist but 5 while is incredible isn’t my perfect dmc at all
I can relate to that to be honest cause between Devil May Cry and Onimusha those are the only games where I'm still waiting for the most perfect games of their respective franchise's.
To play a little devil's advocate, no pun intended, if another reboot were to happen it doesn't automatically mean it would be bad. Ultimately it just depends on how it's handled from both a gameplay and story standpoint.
@@OfficialBioDevil Yeah but the last one was a really good game and look how well that turned out. People will riot simply because it's not exactly what they wanted, that's what this fanbase does.
@@Saltyaf38Well to say that the "last one" was a very good game is your own opinion. Considering I haven't touched DmCDE for literal years only to play it again recently & break it again with no effort doesn't scream a very good game to me. Also no one is saying that a new reboot can't do new things and make changes but just not like DmC ever again especially with the disaster that was the PR surrounding the game.
It wasn't itsuno's idea to add Nero. After they poured their heart out to make dmc3, They were told by higher ups to make dmc4 instantly after dmc3 was out and they had to make dmc3 SE at the same time, with dmc4's budget . Imagine making dmc3 one of the best video games ever made and then being told to do it again. The dev team were extremely demotivated and tired but then someone mentioned adding a new character which gave them a second wind and that's how Nero was made. He was actually supposed to be more calm and composed like Vergil, and Dante wasn't even supposed to be in dmc4 at all until they realized fans would hate that and decided to add Dante and made Nero more like him, also they gave Dante way more levels then what was intended. I don't see Nero as itsuno's oc (In fact hes the dmc3 team's oc not itsuno's ) , but, I see him as a successor to Dante Just how itsuno's team were the successors to kamiya's team. Not to mention they literally made dmc3 so i trust them the most with Dante's character since dmc3 is the game with the best character development, depth and had the fan favorite version of Dante. I like Nero i think he has the most depth in style play (in dmc5) his mechanics are actually deeper than Dante and Vergil's and i hope he's in future games (except remakes). If u care read the 3142 book!! , it reveals AlOOT about the games developments and shows why they made certain decisions!
The only reason i still haven’t finished DMC4 and not played DMC 5 is bcs of Nero.I hate him. I have tried to like him but i have this idea that as long as he is in a dmc game the story is gonna be dogshit.
Nero in DMC5 is literally carbon copy of Dante,Hard Headed Nero is better because that is the REAL him, he should be hard headed and don't change that, what developement he need is,the way he control his anger instead of became watered down Dante. DMC4 Nero have decent developement, such as listening to what Dante said, and became calm afterward, but DMC5 forcing developement from Credo, when all they have is info dump,no expand beyond info dump of "living and grow up together with Kyrie and Credo",there is so much unnecessery changes that Itsuno change, don't make me start on how he butchered Dante developement and how DMC5 is literally trashy Vergil fanservices game.
I wouldn't say he's a carbon copy but I did feel like Nero's story in 5 was kinda like a watered down version of 3. So sometimes I jokingly refer to it as Nero's Awakening. People also seem to.forget that Itsuno created Nero because he wanted his own character to build upon for the games rather than be tied to what's been established with Dante. It's safe to say he probably took a similar approach to Vergil (even though it's not his character either) to essentially rebrand or remake the character into his vision. It's exactly why I hope a new director won't have character bias moving forward.
@@OfficialBioDevil he is carbon copy though,he isnt a hard headed anymore,he is more of Dante but way much softer. Nero is peak and original when he is DMC4,people hate him in DMC4 just becaus he is different,if DMC going forward,i am hoping Nero became Nero again, instead of watered down Dante,Nero is great when he is Nero,he is suck when he is not Nero.
The reason I'm saying he isn't a carbon copy is that he doesn't go through the same struggles as Dante did in 3. Not to mention things were kind of handed to him for story convenience where as Dante actually had to go throw character growth.
@@OfficialBioDevil backstory wise he isnt, charcateristic he is literally Dante. And no,things isnt handed to him, things came to him by fate, and it changed his life.
Yeah I agree. Despite any criticism I might have for it overall I'd say it's a solid way to end things off if it were to somehow be the last game. That said I highly doubt 5 will be the last.
i'd say going forward, dmc should retain multiple protagonists because the fanbase is at the point where sure we have people who prefer dante, like my self, but we have a lot of people who were introduced with 4 who prefers nero's playstyle and character, i don't think we should have a new dante solo game (unless it's a remake) because it would alienate the nero fanbase, ideally, a 6th game would have nero, dante and vergil fighting with 6 missions each and a mechanic that after completion allows you to change which character to play as like the rumoured divergence mode.
I like that idea a lot actually because I do think all of the characters need their time to shine and it's not like I want to see the characters go away either.
And Vergil's World of V should just turn him into V instead of doing an animation
@@thebiggeridiot the only other main character is Nero but he isn't or wasn't ever worthy of becoming the main character. Now if we should have him be the main character again then Dante's gonna be so old again at that point.
How about main campaign is about Dante and vergil and Nero gets his own extra campaign?
Nero has a massive amount of depth already with only Red Queen and Blue Rose, I don't see the point in introducing more to his kit
I never claimed he didn't have depth but it would be pretty dumb to not expand that arsenal especially if he's meant to fully replace Dante & Vergil. Much like Vergil, Nero has literally had the same stuff with a handful of additions in the course of a little over a decade at this point not giving him more would be an insult especially when they literally introduced Nico who can just craft various fire arms, equipment and even likely devil arms, no pun intended, that share similar functionality to Red Queen.
much like dante's devil arms I would like to see a new set of devil breakers in a new game
@rippleeffect3595 I think that would likely be a given especially since his DLC breakers work similarly to the main ones with some minor alterations.
@@OfficialBioDevil the dream is dead gang 😢
without Dante there is no DMC Dante is DMC
That's how I feel since he is the main character.
U are alone in this buddy
That's pure madness. There is no Devil May Cry without Dante
@@rbraunbeck96 Nero isn't as cool as Dante in the slightest and there's always room for character development.
They should've just made a design document internally on
how to make an itsuno game. If anything I hope they just don't make DMC mobile forever.
Even with that, it's not gonna be good as Itsuno making it himself. At least bring back DMC1/DMC2 director.
Honestly devil may cry remakes would be cool NGL as long as they keep the old tones but add in updated combat systems
If they do bring Dante back it'll be a shame that it won't be Reuben since JYB said he's decided to retire from Acting/Voice Acting.
True and Reuben himself did end up confirming that himself.
Also love what I’m seeing from the anime so far and will be watching it in April.
The ability to switch devil breakers on command would be really cool.
I agree and I think they can do it in a way where slight taps do a quick change and holds would do the standard breakage.
Nah. I think Nero is fine. He fits right in and developed well and feels he can continue things. And Dante can still be around doing his own thing.
I never said he didn't fit in. It's fine if you think that he's "developed well" but I do think that's subjective.
Nero is a nothing burger not good not bad just average
Imagine a franchise making you play a different new character other then the the original main character...
*Metal Gear Solid 2 with Raiden.*
In truth I think the games should be like this...
U can’t compare Raiden the GOAT to the nothing burger that Nero is💀💀💀.Cardinal sin at its finest
I think that's pretty reasonable.
Nah i have to strongly disagree nero is a great character to take dantes place especially since the sons of sparda story is over
I mean I'm not going to stop you from thinking that. My point is more so that given the popularity of Dante writing him off for Nero who's barely grown as a character and also more so from a gameplay standpoint lacking in something that's been standard since the original game, a variety of weapons to use, he's not a good replacement currently.
Sparda*
I mean what? Why tho? Why does everyone ignore the fact that dante is gaming's most iconic character and killing him off is series suicide.
DMC5 was the perfect love letter to all of us DMC fans. I’m fine with it ending from that BUUUUUTTT I will not be fully satisfied without a DMC3 remake that’s all I want🙏🙏🙏
Same
Give us a Sparda trilogy
I'd take that and spin offs for Lady, Trish and Lucia.
@ If they don’t make Trish and Lady ugly like they did in 5 then count me in
their needs to be atleat one more game for nero to fully take over if they want to change dante out for nero. as is nero hasn't fully come into his own they also badly need to give nero more weapon variety if he is going to become a full time mc. the best plot for the 6th game would be solving the mystery of what happened to sparda and focus on tying up dante and virgils stories
There's a MGS3 emake coming out without Kojima at the helm. DMC will survive without it's founder
Yeah I think that under the right circumstances things will be fine but only time will tell how things play out!
Remake 3 and 1
Then DMC6 Nero give Dante a daughter and son 1 with lady 1 with Trish
I'd like to make the argument that Nero is a deeper character than everyone gives him credit for
Hes had 2 arcs so far
In 4 his arc was learning to accept himself.
If they remake Devil May Cry 2 I will respect Capcom a lot
yeah I see and understand now playing DMC 4 and 5
how Nero is kind of a pain and being honest with myself I'm just waiting for Dante to show up again lol
also does anyone convey the reboot like this:
DmC
and the regular series like this dmc/DMC
Vergil' new weapon is DmC Aquila...
Imagine they reboot it again. That would be hilariously disastrous and I'd love to watch everything burn.
@@OfficialBioDevil I'd put money down that if they reboot it people would be pissed.
I think in dmc6 you should play as amingo
And no,things isnt handed to him, things came to him by fate, and it changed his life.
funny enough, that new Vergil with his weapon is the worst S rank Vergil out of the 5 of them lol
Damn that kinda blows cause the weapon itself looks like it'd be a lot of fun.
i'd happily take a DmC2
its not a bad end If DMC5 is the last dmc
Yeah I agree. Despite any criticism I might have for it overall I'd say it's a solid way to end things off if it were to somehow be the last game. That said I highly doubt 5 will be the last.
