This is my favourite review of the HW 40. I have an early exemplary without fiber sights and I am very satisfied. Rested and with a scope I have managed to punch out a bulls eye with a group radius of 1,5cm with seven pellets at a distance of 15m . Fun fact: the pellets for that are the H&N Excite Econ II which I strongly recommend for this gun.
Iv just bought one in .22. So far im loving it. The trigger is brilliant straight out the box. I bought mine for plinking in the garage rather than serious 10m comps and at 7.5m I can keep them in an inch circle single handed. Im impressed for the money.
I have the webley alecto. 177 which is similar. The alecto is a multi pump as opposed to being single pump, you can pump 1-3 times on the alecto to give you variable power, the 3rd stroke giving you 5.7 fpe, it is also a very accurate air pistol.
I bought my Beeman many years ago, and with a new O ring pack from my hydraulic supplier (no you don't have to buy them from the manufacturer for £15.+, i paid a couple of £ for 5 sets) and after a rebuild mine was pretty constant around the 5ftlb mark, and with a small scope on top and cheapo spitfires in the barrel it was sub 2" at 25 yards. Still got it and its great fun.
I had this pistol, never bothered to adjust anything. This thing worked great and is very high quality! Just make sure you don’t buy one of the knock off at Walmart. My wasn’t pellet fussy at all. I took down a ton of sparrows and starlings that were ravaging my garden from about 10-15 yards. Plinking with this pistol actually helped me get much better with my real pistol.
Air was banned on the moon long ago, then the people realized too late that it was not a good idea and they all suffocated! LOL. The Sweet had the hit song "Love is like Oxygen", we must have both...:D btw, I do own an early version (no fiber optics) of that pistol and have put thousands of rounds thru it, and I just can't seem to wear it out. Love the smooth firing cycle, unlike a spring piston gun. Keep the videos coming.
I remember reading an article in a gun magazine a few years back that mentioned English Muffin Sights (EMS) are not very accurate at medium to long ranges. Just a FYI.
Hi mate . Thanks for the selfie Sunday at the N.E.C over the weekend .Im thinking of banning do gooders... Fantastic job mate keep it up. P.S thanks for taking the time to speak to me ..NICE GUY
I use one of these at our club for 10m + knock downs. Accurate, although I would avoid putting any mounted sights on the rail. Pellet wise I find it likes RWS R10 Match flatheads, 8.2gr.
Please try JSB EXACT 4.50MM 8.4gr or Crossman Premier Pointed 7.9gr - The second ones had velocity over 392 fps and best penetration compare to other pellets - capable of penetrating one side os a soup can at 10 yards :)
Hi mate Met you yesterday at the shooting show you were with that lovely lady from USA... Had a great chat with you...your a top bloke...luv the vids and your soh.... keep them coming...
hi Giles love your videos and it was great to finally meet you in person at the show sunday [the old hairy guy with the tattoos] such a gent you are.And yes i did get the rotex rm8 .dont forget DO out takes i think it would go down a storm kindest regards to you and misses airgun gear
I own the p3 and the p17 and mine like the rws Meister 7gr and the rws r10 8.2 gr. You should try some, as I'm getting excellent groups with those. Cheers!
In they US they are called the P-17. My grandkids like to shoot it at 5 meters. I wear a heavy glove on one hand to help with the cocking. Later i put an aimpoint on it and it was a lot easier to cock. The auto safety is great for teaching kids to shoot!
I have the Beeman P17 with no fiber sights, and it has a similar design and it is very accurate, even more that the grouping you showed. (I am not a expert shooter) I think something happens to your gun, may be a little loose on the rear sights every time you cock/close the gun. Mine is not to powerfull but very quiet, for this gun I am using flat wadcutter industry brand pellet (chinesse pellet) and it works very well.
looks exactly like the Beeman P17 and P3, the 17 sells for $33USD and the 3 for $200+USD, they are twins! they all have the same plastic, must have a special pixie mechanism for the extra $170USD...i have the P17
The Weihrauch HW40 is great but buy the rebranded Beeman P17. You'll save a ton of money and it's the same gun! The trigger on the P17 is great out of the box. The Beeman P17 retails for 50 bucks Canadian and I have ordered one. Nothing but good things to say about this gun. It's not a hunting gun mind you maybe mice at 10 feet
Nice vid Giles, saw you at the show today I think you need to go and talk nicely to the BSA team and try to get your hands on their new bullpup it looks and feels amazing. Good luck and keep up the good work.
Giles your killing me!! When is it coming? And you know what I'm taking about hahaha the vid we've all been waiting for the review of the fx crown I'm like a kid waiting for Xmas day 🎁 atb Lee 👍
Pfffftttt that's Beeman P17,,,but I am not carring 😂 they're same guns and they are AWESOME,it's quiet and trigger is phenomenal..Barrel was foul but was cleaned, now shoots excellent except it's only good as the operator 😂,on a bad day I can't even hit the soda can,so I go up close and say "Feeling lucky 🍀 Can" kaboom 😂
Mohamed Shwesh Why would you do that? Use a .45g lead pellet, not heavier, and it works great. It works with both cheap and expensive pellets but not every pellet will be good as Mr.G. said.
You have the new model P3! Also your bullet box the same as mine? I'm over here in the Indian Nation and wonder if they imported the Bullet Box? Thank you! Semper Fi~
..I just got mine today and you weren't lying about the pinch factor. It got me one time, ouch big time. Compared to my ole Tempest, this thing is twice as light. Maybe once it gets broken in (instructions say 1,000 rounds!), the cock will be easier? We will see. Excellent review and Cheers from Texas!
Where is definitely cheaper than the hw44. Is there an air pistol what shoots like a real pistol. With proper muzzle flip. In the UK it's a bit hard to earn a real pistol.
Try a webley tempest if you can still get them, mines about 35 years old and still as good as new. I think they were designed as trainers for pistol shooting.
As a TRANS vegan dwarf,I feel your videos aren't helping the worlds pollution problems, and intend to rally a group of us to protest in London...There's 60 of us who will be travelling in a Ford Transit powered by Farts..our diet, size and rubber tube make this possible..

Top Shot I have the .22 version and the accuracy on it is honestly incredible, it’s helped a lot by it being so light for its size.
David Henchman , I had a 20cal alecto , deadly accurate and great gun to shoot!
Sooooo good to see you at the show today Giles !!! Dr Paul.

It´s good to see a Brazilian made pellet in your review Sir. Rifle Premium Series pellets are getting better and better. Greetings from Brazil. Cheers
I remember reading an article in a gun magazine a few years back that mentioned English Muffin Sights (EMS) are not very accurate at medium to long ranges. Just a FYI.
Beeman P-17 is identical and is 30-40$ almost everywhere. Cool little backyard plinking pistol. Hella fun.
Alecto is more than twice as expensive though, but you do get a little pistol carry case as well as more power.
Giles your a legend man, never change man.
Hi mate . Thanks for the selfie Sunday at the N.E.C over the weekend .Im thinking of banning do gooders... Fantastic job mate keep it up. P.S thanks for taking the time to speak to me ..NICE GUY
Thanks that you are back in business ,with your great Airgun Reviews. As ever nice Video,Thumps up!!!

Had a great chat with you...your a top bloke...luv the vids and your soh.... keep them coming...
I wouldn't want a pinch off that. I can still remember getting the skin between my index finger and thumb caught in my old Gat 40+ years ago thanks!
Nice one Giles pleased you loved the HW40 I have one excellent pistol 🔫👌👌👍
hi Giles love your videos and it was great to finally meet you in person at the show sunday [the old hairy guy with the tattoos] such a gent you are.And yes i did get the rotex rm8 .dont forget DO out takes i think it would go down a storm kindest regards to you and misses airgun gear
thanks Giles very entertaining you always have a great time i always look forward to the great videos you do and your review
I own the p3 and the p17 and mine like the rws Meister 7gr and the rws r10 8.2 gr. You should try some, as I'm getting excellent groups with those. Cheers!
Always a pleasure to watch Giles 👍
That is a magnificent pistol.
The plastic will last a long time. But you don't need anything extra.
I don't like plastic in guns, AND it's not environmentally friendly.
In they US they are called the P-17. My grandkids like to shoot it at 5 meters. I wear a heavy glove on one hand to help with the cocking. Later i put an aimpoint on it and it was a lot easier to cock. The auto safety is great for teaching kids to shoot!
I bought the Beeman P17 same gun but half price, works good with
RWS Hobbys only 7 grain,
Would be nice to compare this to the Beeman clone the P17 2004 at less than half the price of the HW40 at 2022 prices.
I have the Beeman P17 with no fiber sights, and it has a similar design and it is very accurate, even more that the grouping you showed. Nice review, great sense of humor!!!
Thx, i like your reviews very much and was waiting for you to do the HW40. You seem to get, what this pistol is about.
Great video Giles, awesome review.
looks exactly like the Beeman P17 and P3, the 17 sells for $33USD and the 3 for $200+USD, they are twins! they all have the same plastic, must have a special pixie mechanism for the extra $170USD...i have the P17
A video on a p3 showed it to have 2 cocking powers, low power only require partial opening of ram then closing.
I once caught my nipple in the P3’s mechanism when charging it. Fecking hell, mate!!!
The Weihrauch HW40 is great but buy the rebranded Beeman P17. You'll save a ton of money and it's the same gun! The trigger on the P17 is great out of the box. Giles you need to review the Wembley Alecto .22 and .177 as they are so similar i thought you had one at the start, good gun good video too thx
Giles your killing me!! When is it coming? And you know what I'm taking about hahaha the vid we've all been waiting for the review of the fx crown I'm like a kid waiting for Xmas day 🎁 atb Lee 👍
What is the difference in quality compared to the beeman or are they exactly the same
Great review. ..can you review some of the vintage air guns like the old relum tele or old bsa Webley keep up the great fun reviews
Pfffftttt that's Beeman P17,,,but I am not carring 😂 they're same guns and they are AWESOME,it's quiet and trigger is phenomenal..Barrel was foul but was cleaned, now shoots excellent except it's only good as the operator 😂,on a bad day I can't even hit the soda can,so I go up close and say "Feeling lucky 🍀 Can" kaboom 😂
how much it costs and how to order it
What is the difference between the P-3 and the P-17 (other than price)?
just one muffin? mabey i'm spoiled but if it's so hard to reload is it still fun after 20 shots?
To kill small game it only needs to dent a bean Can, shot placement is key I have the Canadian one
Would you choose this over the P17?
Are you intending to do a review of the new Umarex RP5? I've only seen sneek previews but it looks interesting.
You need to do a review on the edgun veles
Would you recommend this gun over the Air Venturi V10 ?
Ban air by all means but replace it with something safe like marshmallows.
I like marshmallows 👍
Great gun It was my first airgun I ever got 8 years ago I got 2 squirrels with it last year
Come on, man. Use the right (powerful) tool for the job.
If it was me, pay the money & Buy a PCP. I paid £100 for a NEW Walter CP99 special agent. That pistol is amazing.
i have a question
is it okay to shoot an alloy pellet or non lead pellet in that pistol
Mohamed Shwesh Why would you do that?
Use a .45g lead pellet, not heavier, and it works great. It works with both cheap and expensive pellets but not every pellet will be good as Mr.G. said.
Yea you can
You have the new model P3! Also your bullet box the same as mine? I'm over here in the Indian Nation and wonder if they imported the Bullet Box? Thank you! Semper Fi~
Awesome review! Knowing me I would jam my fingers in it when closing the top haha. Is it shooting around 400fps?
that pistol is a lot of fun some one stole it from me it was the beeman P3 I have a beeman P5 (hw70 black arrow) a lot of fun
Would it not be better to ban air in stages. Nitrogen first, then oxygen, etc. Opps!
Shaun Murphy I'm sorry but what do you mean?
I dont get it either unless Shaun is short of oxygen while he is typing this?
Put some gas/gpl in the air and give it a spark and see how dangerous air can be, but that doesn't mean that everything must be banned
..I just got mine today and you weren't lying about the pinch factor. It got me one time, ouch big time. Compared to my ole Tempest, this thing is twice as light. Maybe once it gets broken in (instructions say 1,000 rounds!), the cock will be easier? We will see. Excellent review and Cheers from Texas!
Is this a single shot?
yes ist is. about 3,5-4J power. if you like, check my review that will be online on sunday!
Where is definitely cheaper than the hw44.

I'd love to shoot these but unfortunately it's illegal in the Netherlands
How much
I thought auto-safeties were only useful if you can't figure how to keep your finger out of the trigger guard while cocking...
just like the Zoraki
Mind your fingers with them muffins hahahajajajajahahaha very enjoyable vid
LMAO. Hatebook. So true.
Another A+ production, Giles!
good review , i'm looking for a pistol but i don't believe this is it..
Andy Patrick this is a bad ass air pistol
Here in the US it the beeman P 17 good rat getter
Any protest to an air-ban would be brief, but intensely passionate. Why not just regulate and tax it?
Hilarious!! Very entertaining!! Thanks for sharing!
I want one.
Damn your good.
I want a firegun
Not going to hold my breath on the air ban.
Weihrauch H45 is king
oh yes it is! But this one is really amazing. So accurate! I love it!
@@AirGhandi it's shit, more power in a pea shooter
This is right my friend. The power is really low :-( But it is very accurate...
Don't know what the yanks think when they see what pop guns we are allowed to have in the UK 🤣
What happened to the other coments? I'm lonely 😭
Simon Hopkins )
Better ban grass too along with air, some people get a mighty rash from grass. PEOPLE DON'T EVEN SEE THE DANGER!!
👍👍
The Webley Alecto is a better gun I think!
Power wise - yes. When it comes to reliability - I doubt it :)
Donde puedo comprarla aquí en España no la encuentro
sounds like some one pushed your button
Ban hydrogen dioxide too!
Think i'll stick to my 1911 all metal pistol not to keen on plastic
More like a ballistic polymer, you will find alot of modern firearms have ballistic polymer frames.
It's definitely not the cheap plastic though. And you need to shoot one to understand.
Nice plastic that shoots
There were 177 likes and I went and ruined it.

This airgun is weak. It's useless for self defense
Trash gun
fps?
it has about 3,5-4J power
