What a beauty! It takes me back to my childhood days. Of course, I never had an Omega when I was a kid. But my folks let me rock a Timex from the time I was 5.
I cant believe i didnt catch this one when you dropped it . 😊 Your closeups with the new camera are second to none ! I appreciate your time and effort on both fronts, the horology and the videography. Truly a labor of love. Thanx for all of it 🍻
@@stevewilliams5428 hahah Ok so I owe you an apology as you were probably thinking how the hell does he look like that! for some reason I thought it was 1972 and I'm 1976 not 1956 .. I think my hair will have gone by then too. haha
I do like vintage watches they are from the era when almost everything is made for the eternity. That’s why they still exist after 60-70 years. I have a Roamer from the late 40’s with a mechanical unitas movement. I bought it from a paint artist who is also an avid watch collector. It wasn’t the cheapest piece but the price reflected on the shape. The watch went through a complete overhaul including a case and a dial restoration. Looks like brand new.
Oooo that sounds nice. I bet the full refurb must have set you back a bit as that's a lot of work. I do agree with you though. Vintage watches are timeless and fully wearable today. As long as you look after them they will look after you.
Aw thanks Darryll. The camera is really good at getting those close up jobs. Not the best with the auto focus in a live environment but in monitor mode it's really great.
Brilliant workmanship. Looks so easy when an expert does the work. A lot of experience to achieve that level. Excellent commentary. The photography displayed all aspects. A lot of work by you in the editing. Pleased to be one of your subscribers. Wonderful 'give away' project.
Hi Mat, Your RUclips channel is one of my favorite in the field of watches. I keep my fingers crossed that the 10,000 subscribers come quickly. Keep up the good work 👍 Many greetings Philipp
Wow a bumper movement! I've only seen a couple of these in my life. I own a few cheap automatics, and use a Casio as my daily driver. Hope that Rolex goes to a good home! Good luck everyone!
@@HorologyBiology hopefully things will change as i think fashion is changing from big watches, Aqua Terra and Globemaster are nice watches but not for 6.5 inch wrist gang
Yes been waiting for your video Omega is my brand had 3 of them speedmaster, Seamaster 300 bond co-axil and Seamaster NZL-32 great watches bullet proof last forever and look great like the date at 6 or 12 and dial colour
Yeah it took me a while to getting around to making this one. I really wanted to wait until the next scope cam arrived. Definitely made a difference I believe 👍🏻
So awesome! I'm starting my watchmaking hobby, and am really glad i came across your channel! That Seamaster would be a perfect gift for my father-in-law. I'm more of a Seiko diver guy myself. 😁 Edit. Although this looks so friggin' nice that i might end up keeping it if i win.. 😅
I bought a 1955 Omega Seamaster last year. So thin and light! The back-and-forth bump of the automatic winder is quite noticeable at times, especially when it winds down. But I like it more than my 1979 Datejust. Nice video!
Great job Matt, great job, these bumpers are awesome, the feel on the wrist as the rotor hits the spring - super nice 🙂 The new camera is great - I watched carefully as you assembled the balance jewels; on camera it looks so easy, I always need around 6 goes. Either the chaton and jewel are not aligned so the jewel pokes out one side, or something goes wrong. So back in the solvent, add the dab of oil try again. I must be doing something wrong because it's not getting easier, grrrr.
My manager at work owns a Ceramic Speedmaster and even he's going to subscribe and get all of his watch enthusiast friends to subscribe so you reach that 10k number as quickly as possible.
One more thing can you please stop picking up the dial by the face just pull it out and move it about with the dial feet thanks you do know more about this than me but it starts my OCD off big time thanks

Thanks for the opportunity to win this watch! It’s gorgeous!
It really is a beauty for sure 👌🏻
I’ve watched this video three times now…always a new experience
It's a nice watch for sure.
Love vintage Seamasters!
Don't we all 🙌🙌
If you weren't giving it away I'd consider buying it off you. I love those old midsize Omegas.
😅 Sorry. Maybe you will be lucky 🍀
What a beauty! It takes me back to my childhood days. Of course, I never had an Omega when I was a kid. But my folks let me rock a Timex from the time I was 5.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to show us the bumper movement. The dial pops yo. Nice video, great watch, good luck everyone!
You’re welcome 💪🏻💪🏻 thanks for watching
Dear future me, congrats on that beautiful new watch on your wrist .

Thank you very much Graham 👍🏼
The Seamaster is my favourite watch. It’s the one I really want to own/look after. There’s just something about them, through all the decades.
Awesome watches for sure

I appreciate that. Thanks so much Khronos 💪🏻
This watch brings back good memories! The first watch I had as an adult was a bumper movement. The feel on your wrist is unique!
They are lovely movements for sure 😀
@@HorologyBiology I'll not say how many years ago but I bought it new!😂😂
That's my birth year... Yes I'm old but still kicking like that watch!!
You’re old??? Man you’re 4 years older than me! Enough of the old please 🤣🤣
@@HorologyBiology But you have all your hair...Mine went down the plug hole years ago.😄😄

I'm 64 so I guess this is where all the old farts hang out?
wauw just love it with that bumper movement and the date on six o clock .....
Yeah it's mad fresh for sure
Thanks HB, went down the day-date/quickset rabbit hole after watching your video. No idea first "traditional" quickset wasn't invented until 1977.
There we go then. How we so take it for granted :)
Thanks Matt, you’re doing great with the new camera 👍
Thank you Tom 👍🏻👍🏻
Super, super fresh!
Freshness for sure 💪🏻
Always loved bumpers 😊
Me too!

Omega's are nice watches, I have a over 30 year old one and it looks new.
This is beautiful. You have a talent for finding these gems! You should start up a shop to resell watches like this.
I do sell some of my watches on my website. Link is in the about section of the channel 👍
I think this is one of your best videos. Camera work was great. I love the vintage Omega's. Beautiful watch. Thank you Matt

Best of luck. Thanks for watching 👍
I love it.
Thanks 🙏🏼🙏🏼
