Just discovered your content! Reminds me of a couple years ago with my quartz Seiko Flightmaster that had an issue with the stem and crown unable to push all the way in. I tried messing around with it myself and ended up completely destroyed the watch unfortunately as I took it apart without any idea on how to put it back together. Now I feel motivated to give it another shot and check my bag of parts to see if I can try it again
You'll get a movement off of eBay. I replaced the module in my Tissot T-race after it failed right out of warranty. Be careful with the stems for the hands though, I did manage to break one of the sub dial posts.
I love all these videos. Horology biology is truly a wonderful educational experience. How he takes his time to go step by step to show you how its done. Unique. Thoughtful. Thank you for providing us with all of your content. To your success 🏆sir.
When I bought my first few automatic watches I bought a fngeen and it was a decent enough watch for not much money, think it was like $16 and to be honest they serve as a great learning tool. I gave it away as I never wore it, the band was horrible on it but the watch actually ran well.
Thats incredible for $17, how on earth could they assemble it for that price let alone make all the parts. Seems amazing they would have all the technology to make these parts etc and then just throw it together with no lube.
The common stones can turn into jewels when it comes in the hand of experienced Jeweller. Which watch you’re dealing with it doesn’t matter. It does matter when your expertise and skills are properly utilised in this kind of art works. Your passion is really worth deserving of praises and I respect you and appreciate your valuable time for making this video to show ordinary people how to elevate the inner mechanisms of the watch providing a very good service. Indeed it’s costly. But your skills are more important to me here. This is what I liked most honestly. This is absolutely great job. Thank you very much for sharing and keep it up 👍
I’ve never fully disassembled a watch, just some minor fixes on some rather large pocket watches, that said, I think this watch would be great practice for someone looking to get into the hobby. Would give you a feel for scale and how watch mechanics work.
It's the perfect watch to learn on as the fundamentals are the same and the price tag is very very low for all those expected mistakes that will be made
I've been looking for a channel that shows repair in good detail. It's almost unbelievable what you can get for a low price even though you had to fix it! Good luck with the channel and I am subscribed now.
The amount of engineering you're getting for 17$ with this watch is mindblowing. It really is. That's the price of an armband for my casio quartz watch. Such a shame that nothing is lubed which will shorten the lifespan and ruin the accuracy.
Very cool video. It's amazing they're only charging $17. First time watching. Definitely will look for more as it is always fascinating to watch people work on watches. Keep up the great work
The dexterity you display is amazing to me. I am new to the watch world and starved for info so thank you. I am trying to work my way thru the semantics of watch making. This video helps.
For someone whose just learning to work on watches, I think for $17 it’s a good practicing watch, I mean for $17 who cares if you mess it up, at least you get to learn on it :)
Really loved this video, first time viewer and new Subscriber!! I'm so glad this popped up on to my feed. I will be watching your videos regularly now! What a great series for someone like myself who would be interested in purchasing and learning with a cheaper watch for this hobby!
I don't know how I came across this video. But I was captivated by the disassembly. I didn't understand anything. After disassembling the 12,000th piece, I was lost in another world. I was surprised by a huge doubt. I said to myself: what if it was me who had disassembled this watch? I imagined having to reassemble it. The nervous breakdown, the impossible mission, the end of the tranquility of my life. A million years to try to reassemble it. By the time I succeeded in this feat, the sun had stopped burning all its energy. And at that time, I hadn't yet found all the screws!
this is perhaps the standard automatic movement from Shanghai 8210 ( 7120 for the hand wind) in the 80s. They make them in Millions and the left over stock is peanut cheap. The mfg just need to find the cheapest case, hands and dial and the result is such a cheap watch. I assembled myself a watch with such a movement. It is a great , stable and relatively accurate movement , i must add
I think the ones used in the cheaper knockoffs are new production but just from some other factory instead. The old stock is higher quality though. And Merkur also makes the same movement as well (and it is pretty high quality)
Surprisingly, the cleaning and servicing of an extremely cheap watch is almost as interesting to watch as that of a fine one. Also, congratulations on exceeding 10K subscribers!

@HorologyBiology Just need to find room in our van for it. We live in our van. It would be so fun as we don't watch TV or even own a TV. I already make jewelry, so it goes hand in hand. I'm thinking about putting a nice mechanical watch as the head stone on a walking staff.
@clarklindquist8137 That would be really cool. I’ve actually thought about that for myself many times as I’m quite hooked on watching van build videos on RUclips
Never thought that it would be so interesting to see a service for the cheapest automatic Aliexpress watch, but it was very illuminating. You hace a new sub. Best regards

You'll get a movement off of eBay. I replaced the module in my Tissot T-race after it failed right out of warranty. Be careful with the stems for the hands though, I did manage to break one of the sub dial posts.
congratulations on growing your channel. watching you is a pleasure. your videos are always super fresh. well done
Thank you so much!
Great editing and voice over. Love the micro/macro views. Great display of the precision needed . Thank you
Thank you very much 👍
It's amazing what $17 will buy you. Well done!
Thanks for watching 👍
If someone gave you that watch as a kit how much would you charge to assemble it? Hypothetically. I bet it’s more than 17 dollars.
nice projet
- oils cost more than the watch itself ...🤣
but still a good way to learn ... & not a big risk
Exactly that :)
The watch that kept on giving and all for $17. What a bargain!! Super Fresh!!
Regards from the UK!!
💪🏻💪🏻 Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I love all these videos. Horology biology is truly a wonderful educational experience. How he takes his time to go step by step to show you how its done. Unique. Thoughtful. Thank you for providing us with all of your content. To your success 🏆sir.
Thank you very much and thanks for watching and supporting 👍
When I bought my first few automatic watches I bought a fngeen and it was a decent enough watch for not much money, think it was like $16 and to be honest they serve as a great learning tool. I gave it away as I never wore it, the band was horrible on it but the watch actually ran well.
That's almost 6% increase due to inflation. Very fair pricing.
At least it got you into watches 💪🏻💪🏻 thanks for watching
Thats incredible for $17, how on earth could they assemble it for that price let alone make all the parts. Seems amazing they would have all the technology to make these parts etc and then just throw it together with no lube.
s[ecially for a +-~10 sec, automatic
Saves times and cost on production I would think. Thanks for watching 👍
Prison labor in the PRC
It's the perfect watch to learn on as the fundamentals are the same and the price tag is very very low for all those expected mistakes that will be made
I've been following your channel for a while now and I'm so happy to see this video blow up and get so many more people exposed to your content.
Thank you very much. I must admit it has been a surprising week for me 😀
Always appreciate your fresh perspectives!
Many thanks 💪🏻💪🏻
Fngeen is the Don Martin sound effect for a tiny watch spring flying out of the tweezers and across the room
At $17 these are good practice watches.
Use the correct size for screws and you won’t risk stripping heads.
Other than that, I really enjoyed the relaxed detailed run through of this piece.
Thanks for watching 👍
Kudos for taking on the challenge of servicing such an affordable watch!
Thanks for watching
I've been looking for a channel that shows repair in good detail. It's almost unbelievable what you can get for a low price even though you had to fix it! Good luck with the channel and I am subscribed now.
Thanks for the sub and thanks for watching 👍
The amount of engineering you're getting for 17$ with this watch is mindblowing. It really is. That's the price of an armband for my casio quartz watch. Such a shame that nothing is lubed which will shorten the lifespan and ruin the accuracy.
Agreed. Thanks for watching 👍
Steeldive makes a fantastic Willard clone for $60 and it's nice, using a Seiko movement.
👍 Cheers for the info
Seems like better value for money than any luxury watch
I wouldn't go that far 😂
Thats why I stopped buying genuine and tried the super clones. Unbelievable likeness.
Maybe about as accurate as the average Rolex.
Very cool video. It's amazing they're only charging $17. First time watching. Definitely will look for more as it is always fascinating to watch people work on watches. Keep up the great work
Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed
The dexterity you display is amazing to me. I am new to the watch world and starved for info so thank you. I am trying to work my way thru the semantics of watch making. This video helps.
17 Dollarfür eine Uhr. Erstaunlich!👍 Es zeigt mir wieder, dass die Luxus Uhren völlig überteuert sind.
Thanks for watching
For someone whose just learning to work on watches, I think for $17 it’s a good practicing watch, I mean for $17 who cares if you mess it up, at least you get to learn on it :)
exactly..
Totally! Great to practise on.Thanks for watching 👍
Wow! That watch makes a Vostok look like a Jaeger-LeCoultre. 😆
Really loved this video, first time viewer and new Subscriber!! I'm so glad this popped up on to my feed. I will be watching your videos regularly now! What a great series for someone like myself who would be interested in purchasing and learning with a cheaper watch for this hobby!
Thanks for watching. You are right, a cheap full working mechanical watch like this would be a great very low risk watch to learn on.
Lol, Nice. I have an old Invicta sub that just stopped like 9 years ago. I should just open it up and learn.
Go for it!
this is perhaps the standard automatic movement from Shanghai 8210 ( 7120 for the hand wind) in the 80s.
I. AM. EXCITED!!!
Thanks for watching
@@HorologyBiology Thanks for hosting, man! love your videos!
Surprisingly, the cleaning and servicing of an extremely cheap watch is almost as interesting to watch as that of a fine one. Also, congratulations on exceeding 10K subscribers!
Well said! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Looks like a great result as always!! Looking forward to these tasty watches arriving - exciting!😮
You and me both! Thanks for watching Matthew 👍
I love mechanical watches to me no matter the value there all beautiful work's of art .👍
Thanks for watching 👍
It's unbelievable that they can make a profit at just $17
It still baffles me 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
It’s easy when it’s all slave labor
Congrats on hitting 10k subscribers.
Thank you so much 😀
hiya! just wanted to say that this channel pretty much sparked my interest in watches along with "wristwatch revival" on youtube. Keep doing the good work!
Great to hear! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 👍🏻👍🏻
Just saw the first video of your channel, and looking forward to watch more. I'm really into watches and looking into watchmaking.
Welcome aboard. I have a fair amount of previous videos available on the channel for you 👍
Not a bad deal! This would be a good watch for getting comfy taking a watch apart.
Exactly that! Thanks for watching 👍
The dial looks beautiful tbh
It’s very bright for sure
Just found your channel. I'm learning alot, thank you.
I'm seriously thinking about getting some tools and starting this hobby. Looks fun. I've been getting a few picket watches, it would be fun to play with them and see if I could get them running better
I would say go for it and start your 2024 with a new hobby 💪
@HorologyBiology
Just need to find room in our van for it.
Aw thank you so much ☺️
Love the colour of the dial. Impressed you got a decent result from it, nice one
Thank you! Cheers!
