Best wishes to you and your family! As a tinkerer, I've got to ask, what was the issue with the movement after the first assembly that required another strip down?
Thanks mate. When the shock spring came of, I think I accidentally rubbed the oil of the jewel whilst faffing around with the spring. so it was running dry. Someone else thought I may have put the jewel on the flat side up.
@@NekkidWatchmaker Thank you for the reply! Love your videos.
@@NekkidWatchmaker I think it was obvious that the off wing farnicle was jimmied. But you clearly sorted it.
Honk if you agree that gold mesh bracelets like these are one of the highpoints of elegance and human achievement. They’re so pretty. (So why can’t humans manage to make a good reliable toaster or stapler?)
@@johnsrabe those farnicles are a pain in the backside on a movement this small. Especially the off-wing ones.
Please don’t think that you always have to post the most dazzling restorations. I’m happy to watch anything you do.
Thanks mate
Very nice job Nekkid, enjoy your family and keep up the great work
I know, right?
I watch because of your entertaining narrative and humor. And because I'm fascinated by the internal mechanisms of small machinery. Don't think you have to jump through hoops for my attention lol. I'm probably not alone, I bet most of your viewers don't expect or need shock and awe to get us watching you! Best blessings to you and your family, and thanks for all the lovely and interesting things you show us. Whether you're just running it through the cleaner, or machining tiny parts, I love your channel!
Thanks mate
The “interruptions” from Trouble and the little one are a big part of what I love about your content. I often will rewind several times to catch the details of your interactions with the kids. It’s been said before, and will definitely be said again… you’re clearly a wonderful father, your patience and obvious love for your kids is wonderful to see. Thanks for including them in your videos.
My day just got better, boring paperwork then I get a notification of your video, get a cup of tea, fire up RUclips and relax, great video as always, hope your mums problems are small ones.😢
Thanks roger, really appreciate it
Watchmaking aside as we all know you do great work, but at least from what I can see on these videos is that you're a great dad. Your mum raised a good bloke who turned out to be a great dad. If the videos need to be delayed because life gets in the way I'm pretty sure we all understand. Family first and then everything else comes after. Hope your mum is OK mate.
Thanks mate
So right
Word
Joe, I may not speak for everyone but I would still watch every video of they were all just basic service or repair videos. I love watchmaking and your video style and personality are fantastic!
I used to fix old clocks for people. Eventually I had to stop doing that. I had to explain to the customers that it took me 3 hours to repair the damage done by someone else they took it to. Then figure out the original problem. I just fix Seiko automatics for my watch collection now.Very easy to work on and get a good result. I am learning so much from these videos.
Thanks for also sharing more mundane watch maintenance, don’t get stressed by chasing the most bizarre restaurations only ;)
Thanks mate
It is the simple pleasure of watching a master at work, and having "trouble" help.
Jnr sounds like a happy, loved little boy. Those are the only labels that matter. 👍
Thank you so much ☺️
That was a wonderful video, and such a beautiful 1970's OMEGA watch restoration + service, compliments on your camera work it was so sharp and clear. All the best for your mum and family 👍
Thanks mate
That's such a beautiful watch. It looks like a 70's piece, yet it still looks timeless. 10/10 would wear with a suit.
My grandson could speak but you couldn’t understand a word he said. At 4 years old he cut loose after speech therapy and is now very articulate at 6. Frighteningly adept at math too. We love the interruptions. Shows you are a good father and a human.
Thank you. So they didn’t try to label him with the A word?
They still try to say he might be “on the spectrum” but who care?. He is an adorable, intelligent boy. Benjamin Franklin once attributed his long life to living farthest in town from the physician.
@@caymanchristopher7014 lol that’s good advice in this day and age of the nasty medical industry
My sister is "on the spectrum" but now aged almost 60 she is extreemly successful in business and very wealthy, just a little cold in a social setting...
@@plasma453 I worked for a CEO that was like this. He could be very engaging on the topic of business. Gos forbid you get stuck in a lift with him.
Loved the Jedi restoration, I have watched it a few times, but this is sooo satisfying too - what a handsome watch.
Best wishes to you and your kids’ grandma 👵🏾
Thank you 🙏
Tinker on and don't stop. Learning new things is a great thing.
I've got my Dad's 1969 Omega that has a square face but no model on it anywhere. It's very very similar to this except for the fact that it's Automatic. Lovely little watch that I don't wear often enough.
Never feel bad for excessive amounts of Macro shots either or the kids coming in either. This is how life is and should never be hidden from camera.
Beautiful watch, serviced and repaired by a true craftsman 👍👍👍
Praying for your mom and your family. Love the videos.
Thanks Charles
Mate I hope the joy and happiness your videos bring to everybody here is turned back on you and your family to help overcome the difficulties you are currently facing .
My sisters boy didn’t utter a real word till he was 4. Now he won’t SHUTUP!😀
The proper response to why questions is why not. My nephew would drive everyone crazy with endless why questions. I said why not one day and it was like he suddenly experienced a Windows Blue Screen of Death!
Adorable little visitor you have there! Love the sound of the little guy chatting away!
what an awesome "intruder" 😆 you are blessed !! 🙏🏻
Oh wow, I bought my wife the womens version of this last year! Much,. much smaller but the bracelet etc. is identical (albeit scaled down). Love it!
I love watching the gunk come out of those braided bands when I clean them. It's very cathartic.
Those are not interruptions joe. Your family is a welcome bonus to the watch repair/restoration videos for which we have all subscribed
Outrageous production values. From the lighting and microphotography to the music and the narration. Always a masterpiece. Thank you for doing it.
Thank you 🙏
I just love how you interact with your kids🥰 i have watched all of you videos, and i will continiue to watch your amazing work.. my favourite watchmaker on youtube! I learn so much😊 thank you sir!
Thanks for your support mate
1970s in the 20th century. Gold Deville is beautiful. Very nice watch restoration. ⌚⌚⌚❤😊🤗☺️😍
Don't ever apologize for the "interruptions"! I love the opportunity to have a look into a genuine, normal life. As well as the patient approach to everyday interruptions...
Congrats on the happy kids.
I love the watch break down but the commentary is my favorite. Plus Trouble’s guest appearances are always great. Awesome message at the end!
I have been watching your Vids lately as I recover from a severe Illness at home and they have truly been a delight to watch they make my recovery so much easier to get through, also your commentary is so honest and just like a true bromey indeed, please don't change and I look forward to you next amazing vid
Just when I think this channel can't get any better, you add stop motion. Love it!
Signing school shirts on the last day of school takes me back
Could watch this all day long. Hope you and the family are keeping well mate. Cheers from Ireland 👍
My prayers are going out to you and your family 🙏🏽🙏🏽❣️
Thanks mate
I have a disabled son, he has more labels than woolworths, but he is the most loving child I know.
let them label him, but his best label will be loved son. Safe journeys.
Thank you 🙏
All of your videos are quite interesting and entertaining. Please don’t apologize for the “interruptions” of your children: its a rare thing in this day and age for parents to spend quality time with their children.
I have one of these in automatic! In fact, I'm wearing it right now. My father gave me his old one from the late 70s/early 80s. Unfortunately, the dial was damaged, so I had it replaced by Omega when they did a complete service. Prior to replacing the dial, it had the DE VILLE in print like yours did. Now it's in cursive. I'll be keeping it as a family heirloom.
What a great painstaking watch repair, many thanks for your uplifting words of wisdom.
Thanks kamal
I’d love to see you service and walk us through a Lange. I think someone’s eyes like yours would teach us a lot about the craftsmanship and finishing on these pieces.
I came to view the watch repair, but it's the fancy wrist modeling that keeps me coming back for more.
Great to have you back after what felt like a long time. So, thank you for this well-made video of a beautiful watch, on which you produced a marvelous job.
Thank you 🙏
Joe, as usual, you killed it. For you it may have been a simple clean and service but I find it fascinating. I love watching your process and the detail you cover. I have the clumsiest pair of hooves ever bestowed to any being, so seeing a master at work, regardless of craft, is always a treat for the senses. And never apologise for taking time out. The world is all kinds of messed up and family should always be the number 1 priority. If you have to take time out for family or for yourself, nobody will mind. Peace and good wishes to you and your family.
Thanks Tom, and the same to you and yours mate
I love the micro shots.I absolutely enjoy it when you interact with your family in your videos, especially when "Trouble" comes to invade.
Always a pleasure sir, Cheers !
God bless you and your family, Sir! Thanks for all the endless hours of relaxing videos. I sure do enjoy watching them. Please keep them coming!
Had a good laugh when the gears worked their way into the movement on their own! Good editing!!
Always glad to see you, whatever you have to show us. Four of my five kids had speech delays. They had a speech therapist from the school district who worked with them before they were 5 years old. That was all they needed.
Oh! My heart goes out to you and your beautiful family! You can't label love!!!💌💌💌
I have prayed for you and your family.
Thanks mate
Love your vlogs and the giggles along the way, don’t ever change. 😄😄😄
Thanks mate
A truly beautiful watch; and expertly restored. Keep it up and love to the kids too !!!!!!!!!!
They aren’t interruptions. They are why we do what we do. You’re a brilliant dad.
Thank you 🙏
Wonderful job, Joe.
Blessings to you and yours, especially Mum.❤
Thanks mate
Beautiful work as always...hope all comes good for you and your family
Thanks mate
I have a similar Omega but with the 620. Nice to see a similar movement up close. Thank you.
Good thoughts and wishes to your family! I had to stop working on old watches due to my hands being unable to stop shaking due to a worsening disability so I find watching you work very cathartic! Thanks for that! ❤
Thank you 🙏
thought for sure you were going to launch that spring on the keyless works side when you were tearing down the watch. I think you got lucky.
Nothing more relaxing than watching one of your videos. Thanx
Thanks mate
Big fan of your gentle voice, massive knowledge, humor, and watching the mechanics. Much peace to you and the best to your Mom and family.
Thank you and the same to you and yours
Lovely camera shots of this restoration. Love it.
Don't worry too much about labels. My son had Asperger's, and he was grateful for the label as it meant it wasn't his fault, but a condition he could put things down to. He had special schooling thanks to the label, which fixed him up just fine. He is 40 years old now and a computer technician with a great job and a wife and two children and he tells me the label was a good thing. I resisted labels but they are not always bad.
Thank you 🙏
As always, excellent work! Sending good thoughts, and well wishes to you and your family!
Thanks mate
This has become my dream watch, sir. I always had a thing for vintage Omega, but this watch....is just absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way. Thin, elegant, simple, and square. ah...
@NekkidWatchmaker @NekkidWatchmaker thank you for the reply, sir! I didn't expect to get an answer from you. Sadly, I don't think I can afford this watch now. The expense of life as of now is too tight for me. But this watch is so beautiful that it makes me dream of getting it one day. And I've never felt this way about a watch before. All thanks to you and your video. Hopefully, a beauty like this will be still available on the day when I can finally afford it. Again, thank you for the reply, kind sir 😊
@@NekkidWatchmaker But being asked by you certainly made me temtped. May I ask the price of the watch?
The client asked me recently that he wants to sell it. Please email me and I’ll find out for you.
Safe Journeys and prayers for your mum too. God Bless.
A beautiful watch, beautifully presented. I love the macro shots. Good luck on your trip!
Many thanks!
Joe where you been? You need to do 2 or 3 videos a week.
I'm not sure I even watch these videos for the video content any more, as good as it is. It does bring me inner peace and I thank you.
Another great learning video. Hope whatever your personal circumstances get resolved quickly with all our best wishes. Miss your soothing commentary and of course your superb craftsmanship.
Boys are often late bloomers, and if you have older children who are talkative, younger siblings usually have their needs fulfilled, therefore, have no need to talk.
What a genuinely decent way of looking at life you put forward- intelligence with humour and a little humility. Bless you..
We are each individual. And all are beautiful. Including Little Trouble. The simple video with "filler" is refreshing and fun. Take care of your business. God bless.
Thanks scott
Great video, Joe, and macro shots were not boring at all. What was the fix for uneven trace in the timegrapher? Some dirty pinion or jewel?
Thanks mate, most likely not enough oil on the cap jewel
@@NekkidWatchmaker Thanks! Your videos and narrative are always a pleasure. Have a safe travel!
I thought I saw the cap jewel on the dial side get in flat side up.
@@benjaminfriederichs3189 could have been mate. Once that shock spring came off I probably accidentally wiped all the oil of the jewel whilst faffing around with the spring
I was tinkering for over 50 years - and got quite good at it... Then I discovered your channel, and gave up tinkering when I saw how it should be done! Love your work and your philosophy on life Joe. You exemplify what all good people should strive for - rationality, love and commitment to excellence. All your qualities are great inspirations and have a wonderful calming effect on a grumpy old man such as me!
Happy to manage to be first to like and wish you well with your Mum and your travels... ✈️🧳🧳
Thanks mate
I really like your style of being cool with your kid as you perform this meticulous work. Please keep your anonymity.
@Nekkid Watchmaker Thank you for existing and making content.
Your family appearances are very welcome! The Omega is beautiful in its simplicity.
Thank you 🙏
I just love hearing you talk. It is so relaxing. It reminds me of listening to Johnny Morris presenting Animal Magic when I was a child.
Dude. You don't need to explain anything. I don't even know how you ended up on my radar but I'm hooked on your humor and humility.
Thank you 🙏
It is nice to know that I'm not the only one that yells, "shut up" at my alarms😂
Congratulations on the excellent macro video, outstanding! What a beautiful watch - and lovingly treated. Thank you for your kind words. I've been a tinkerer since my schooldays, I'm now 82 and still tinkering, wouldn't be dead for quids.
Thanks Fred
Thanks for sharing your craft and your knowlege. I once had an accountant. She fired me because I tried to point out the wasteful and illogical pratice of gambling. I now have a savings account since my firing.
I’m not even into watches or watch repair. I stumbled across one video and haven’t stopped watching (no pun intended). You do great work and you keep it fun.
Thank you 🙏
The tradition at my school, when leaving, was ripping, tearing the uniforms off the leavers.
Yes it was a bit rough and not al leavers were willing, they had younger brothers to pass it down to.
🎶🎶bad boys bad boys what ya ganna do,what ya ganna do when they come for you🎶🎶
Praying for you and your family. Your son is perfect.
Thank you 🙏
Nekkid Watchmaker the Jacques Cousteau of watchmaking. Peace and blessings. Your voice always calms me down. Thank you.
Thanks mate
Beautiful watch. Just a tinkerer here and I would watch your videos even if I wasn’t.
I for one loved all the "filler"! God bless you and the family as you dodge all the potholes of life!
Thank you 🙏
You are such a blessing to the watch community.
Thanks Chris
Really appreciate watching all the macro shots. The more the merrier in my opinion thank you for your videos. I really enjoy them.
Thank you 🙏
Now that is a gorgeous watch
One of 262k sending good vibrations to you and your family 🙏. Little man will be talking and asking “Many” questions very soon !
Just catching up. Nice job on this beautiful little watch. Thanks for the share.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you for thinking of us. Our regards to you and your family. Keep well, keep safe. Good content, as always.
This is what I was talking about in your last video. Regardless of how intricate, I just enjoy watching a master at work. You know I'm not a religious man but please know that I am thinking of you and yours and wish you well!
As others have said, family must always come first. We aren't going anywhere, so take as long as you need, and when you are back and ready, start again. We will all still be here waiting for the next installment of "The Nekkid Watchmaker Chronicles" ... The best soap opera on RUclips!!
Until then, safe travels, mate!
Thanks Phil
Smile on and thank you for making me smile.
At least one certain thing is that God has this. Loved this piece. Was great to watch. Thanks again.
Thank you 🙏
The watch is a “Timeless” this of beauty. Love your videos and so impressed by your work. From a retired T&D maker of 42 years.
Thanks Larry
Good dad! Giving access to the child! Some things are no bother to the channel when love is involved. Lucky guy!
Have to admit, part of the reason I watch for every new video is to hear your brother's music.
I enjoy a regular service on a beautiful, simple watch as much as a restoration of a nearly destroyed hyper-complex watch. You do a great job, and I love the occasional interruptions by the kids. Makes me feel part of the family... 😊
Thank you 🙏 glad you feel that way mate
Good demonstration..very clean work!!!!
