Something to note about jinnie Fey, she changes ANY token into cats or dogs, there's a lot of cheap ways to make food/blood/clue tokens that you can turn into creatures easily
I was thinking about running token doublers with full treasure token generation in Naya to ramp out of control before converting everything into your creatures as they come out. Really cool stuff to play with.
It's not like Academy Manufacturer and Dockside are brutally used and can have Jolene added in and you can run the new green enchantment that let's you make treasures... Jinnie is brutally easy to go crazy to go with.
My lowest TCGPlayer market price is currently $1.87 for my Modern Masters 2015 printing, which is actually cheaper than the $1.98 pre-sale price for my upcoming Commander: Streets of New Capenna printing. Have a safe weekend, and may you always play your threats on curve.
I think that a little clarification needs to be made on Jolene, the card does stare your opponents. So your opponents swinging into you doesn’t give them a treasure. I blame Eddie
I think you’re underselling Jinnie by putting her in the B tier. She does something that no other commander (or care to my knowledge) does. Not to mention her with Brass’s Bounty or Dockside Extortionist. She definitely doesn’t belong in S Tier, but I’d put her firmly in A without question
This 100%. Jinnie is absurdly powerful because she can turn any and all tokens into Cats and Dogs. Treasure tokens, Food, Clues, etc etc. Considering her low CMC...she belongs in S-tier IMO.
Rigo's ability says "or more", so at most you will draw three cards for attacking each of your opponents. Regardless of how many creatures are attacking.
Your forgetting about planeswalkers. So if it runs into a superfriends deck it's going to draw a card for each planeswalker. So it can get more then three, though normally you are probably gonna get at most 3.
Gotta say I think Oskar is quite strong, and its a very obvious and powerful engine. I think he'll be popular, and he does have a few combo lines if you want to go that route. A tier to me :3
Hey Mitch! I always love these videos but I have a suggestion for you incase you’re open to feedback on the format of your videos! Rather than go in order from worst to best, maybe just list the commanders off in a random order in your video and place them on their perspective rankings that way. I was thinking from an engagement perspective, it might be more exciting for the audience to be able to guess where you’re going to put the commander vs knowing every time we move up a tier. Or if you want players to be able to skip through your video to the end just to see the best ones, maybe only do A-D ranking commanders and then at the end list all of the S ones in a particular order! That way you could label the video in the time bar “S - Rank commanders” for people who only come for that. And if it wasn’t too much trouble, the S tier could be the only one you specifically do an order for going from let’s say 3rd to 1st if there’s 3 S ranks in your opinion. I was just thinking about this as I was watching as a way of keeping your engagement and watch time up cause people will be more glued to the screen to see where the commander will land vs knowing it’s going in the C or D tier and not caring much about the first half of the video vs the last half. Just a thought! Either way I enjoy your content and think you and your editor do a great job!
Anhelo casualties tainted pact searches for thassa’s oracle and the copy tainted pact exiles the entire deck. Cast the searched thassa’s oracle and that’s GG.
@@keizerd9597 I think he is talking about countering Thassa's activated ETB. You'd exile your deck, play Thassa, and the ability would be countered and count not resolve, next draw step you lose.
I would have put Jetmir in A. Even with all the hoops you have to go through and his obvious weaknesses, having a 4MV craterhoof behemoth in the command zone is just insane
I’d certainly argue closer to an end raze forerunners more than craterhoof, but I agree with the sentiment. Jetmir is easily the commander I’m looking most forward to building.
Just secure the wastes on the last opponents endstep. your turn, jetmir and say gg. tbh, right now in magic its not that hard to create 6 tokens or more on isntant speed. and thats most of the time a win with 0 setup. if you already got a little bit of setup like 3 creatures, just create 3 1/1's and the Match is gonna turn in your favor in a lot of cases.
Jinnie is not just replacing 1/1s into 2/2's it replace clue, food, treasures whatever the hell token u want meaning u can create absurd amounts of 2/2 cats w haste throw in a coat of arms or something and you can do some really powerful stuff imo
Just built Raffine in a reanimator build as a discard engine with the key card to get out is Adeline. Going to try it out and see if i can turbo through to try and find my reanimator targets and cards.
Mr Oreo "Double Stuff" definitely got shafted in this review. He is a very plain commander but insanely powerful. It doesnt take much to have cards duplicate his doubling trigger to double again and of course you have fling and infect at your disposal as well. I guess requiring other cards to make him effective is a downside but not too much. Zangief along with other jund commanders welcome Oreo to the deck
Surely your joking claiming lord Xander at S. He only targets one player for each effect, he is seven mana in a deck that isnt green, filling your opponents' graveyards is often a terrible idea, and best case even if you loop him your opponents get to keep their best things.
agreed, no way Xander is S! Tivit costs less, has ward 3 and goes infinite the same turn it comes out with dead eye or time sieve 😂 and he only put Tivit in A 😅 also making players discard/mill half rounded down twice does not get rid of their whole hand/library, only 3/4 of their hand/library 🙄
Xander is at best a C tier commander, i'd be more inclined to put him in D. The cards just go awful and its so telegraphed its not even funny. Xander in S but falco in C, when falco is among the strongest legends in the set? Mitch is smoking something i think
yeah, having built an ognis deck and having played against a very dangerous raffin deck, as in using raffin to reanimate and do crazy value crap, and playing against xander, xander does next to nothing, if the grixis deck gets there by like turn 5 or 6, everyone else has value and can just kill or counter xander.
@@Playlist4Ella The main issue then becomes, hes in grixis, there aren't many reanimator decks with that many colours that are going to want to play him. The other problem is, in my opinion anyway, in commander, if you would never consider actually casting the card, maybe its not very good.
with jinnie it's pretty easy to go infinite if you choose to go aristocrats one example is requiem angel and a sac outlet, it's infinite dsie triggers and if you have altar of dementia it's an easy 3 card win also it procs on any token, so you can also exchange treasure, food and clue tokens
Honestly, I am surprised to not see Jetmir in A tier. Token generation isn't exactly super difficult, and his colors let him ramp easily enough to sustain some high-mana plays. All it really takes is an anointed procession and 5 mana into a secure the wastes to meet Jetmir's condition for +3, vigilance, trample, and double strike. That's a total of 13 mana you can spend over 1, 2, or 3 turns to essentially have a small, terrifying army
Maybe i don't see the potential but who is considering jetmir to be cedh viable? It doesn't give you any kind of card advantage, it doesn't ramp, it's not a combo piece . Those things are needed for a commander to be cedh viable. Jetmir is casual at best
@@Shambles95 He helms a Naya stax/aggro list pretty well, actually. Play all your usual culprits to slow the game down, then grind it out with a Hoof in the command zone. Turning your ouphes, archons, thalias, docksides, etc into sizeable beatsticks that you can pivot into after your opponents are locked out enough and slam Jetmir to start working on life totals. Turning all of your already useful stax pieces into things that also advance your game plan is super valuable. Comedian EDH explains it pretty well, but having the wincon in the command zone is pretty good and he compares it to something like Tymna/Kahmal (Obviously minus the card advantage) or Heliod in terms of "winconless" stax decks.
@@singularleaf3895 yeah but he still won't be played in elf balls. also naya isn't really that great in cedh. the new commander from this set for cedh is Rocco. he will be the new Commander for godo helm
@@joelchatfield4250 No one is saying he's gonna be meta, but in terms of a winconless stax deck, he can compete. Don't underestimate Jetmir or you'll get embarrassed lol
Youre undervaluing Cormela. She can do some absurd things, especially with the upcoming Saw in Half. She's cEDH-viable. And Xander is not nearly as strong as youre representing. First off youre reading him wrong and missing the very important "rounded down" clause. This means even an infinite loop will leave opponents with something. 7CMC to start is far more problematic that you're representing. And any deck that can loop him infinitely would literally just be better off using Evelyn, who would actually win the game by exiling opponents' libraries. Xander is a terrible Commander. Hes going to draw a ton of attention while not providing the power to back that up. Nowhere remotely close to S-tier.
Xander is the next Jin Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant. Massively over hyped, and at best a solid 7 drop in the 99 of a deck that actually cares about having one. In no way is it a viable option for a commander. It's a big fancy removal magnet that most people will end up dropping because it never resolves.
@@jackstraw9635 I think Mitch has been playing budget ultra-casual long enough that he's now confusing "how much salt is this generating" with "how strong is this card." They are not the same. Xander is going to *piss off* players who hate discarding cards, despise mill, and freak out over mass-sacrifice. But lets be real - on average, "discard half your hand rounded down" is usually ~2-3 cards *at most.* To a *single* opponent. The sacrifice clause is similar. These are both done trivially with far more efficient costs using existing cards. Milling opponents can just enable anyone who uses the grave. *Xander is a bad Magic card.* Not because of salt generation, but because its just not good at what it does - it tries to do 3 things and does each of them badly. Mitch is so far off on his evaluation here that it's frustrating, because it feeds into this popular nonsense about banning cards *that arent problems.* Not to mention the dumpster fire that is the content-creator attitude toward stax of any kind.
@@timk1719 I agree completely. Xander not only targeting a single opponent instead of all opponents, and his only major triggers that will happen being his ETB and Death triggers… for 7 mana you hate out one person. The salt with Xander will be real, but he is going to be the biggest hate magnet in the game if he is the commander. And then, he throws Falco and Cormela in C Tier despite the fact that people have already started building cEDH decks around them both. I haven’t done much looking at Cormela, but I know Falco goes infinite on a dime given the right couple of cards. He is very much confusing the salt value with the power value of these legends
I agree wholehearted with Cormela. I have cards coming in for her that include recurring her constantly, and untapping her if the spell brings her back tapped, etc. You can tutor in black or dig in blue to find the pieces.
You are so right on Cormela. She's a beast, she can literally combo with a tutor and 9 mana outta nowhere. And yes she can protect herself so well with reanimate and counters. I tried on a cEDH table and she is amazing.
A note on Anhelo; If you have a Narset's Reversal under an Isocron Scepter you can bounce the original even if it has an exile clause to keep it in hand while replacing it with another copy!
I'm kind of surprised The Beamtown Bullies didn't land at S, that card just seems really nuts. I'm quite pleased that Ziatora was an A though, that seems like a really good commander.
Id rank Tivit definitely S. Its very easy to get infinite clues and treasues, there's multiple 1 card combos on top of just a great ETB like you said. Infinite clues and treasures lets you draw your deck and win. When testing the deck I comboed off a lot faster than anyone expected, i used control for the first 1-4 turns and would win turn 3-5 every time (assuming no counterspells)
I think a fun side effect of Evelyn is your denying so many cards form your opponents jsut by playing your creatures. If you swarm enough, it’ll make getting so many of their cards impossible for them.
Raffine, Scheming Seer is basically Varina, Lich Queen but instead of token generation it pumps up creatures with counters and has Flying, Ward 1. If you have a I played it in place of Varina for my commander deck of her and it worked out pretty much the same way only the token generation is way more valuable than Counters, Flying, and Ward 1. I felt it was worth mentioning because you have two videos on Varina, Lich Queen Decks, and realized this when I saw it.
About Falco, you can't lost counters trying to cast something that can't be casted because you may look the top of your deck, which means you'll know what's up there
So I’m a new player and have a question… why is it seen as a negative to be a single color? I would think that’s useful and simplifies things, maybe explain a bit?
mr orfeo, grunn the lonely king (kicked), attack with grunn...power is at 40, follow up with Chandra's ignition, and a fling for good measure. just make sure you can haste grunn.
Parnesse is the first grixis Commander that has encouraged me to go past just Izzet for my Storm deck, each of my Storm spells can be given to an opponent and it costs them 4 life to target me and my permanents. 1 grapeshot copied say 40 times means that to point that back at me would cost a total of 160 life, all the while I have Grapeshots waiting to resolve and if I need to I could Flusterstorm the copies they do point at me!! PLUS I GET TENDRILS OF AGONY AS AN ADDITIONAL FINISHER!!
Also really like Ognis, haste matters is a cool angle, and she's less scary than Korvold which is great. I actually like that the treasures come in tapped. Makes her more fair.
I have a pretty solid deck with her and can confirm that there are both ways around the tapped treasures and the deck still makes crazy value either way
Jolene is One of my favorite Commanders from this set. Seems like a Fun Voltron Commander. Easy to make Treasure in Gruul rn especially after this set. So easy to pump Jolene. Equip her then Swing for the Fences.
I'm wanting Jolene for the 99 in my Jinnie deck. Her being in the same colors as dockside and bootleggers. I'm just gonna through in Academy and just have fun with a cat army.
i didnt even realize how good Anhelo could be, i was like yeah sure you can copy stuff like torment and shiz but i never thought about extra turn spells, ty
Interesting idea to buff Falco what if you use a shield to cast from the top they get it so you are pushed a bit towards using your shields on allies that don't spawn with them
Ok, I agree with most of your placements, but Jetmir is one of the most powerful legendaries in this set, there’s so many ways to set him up, defend him, and get all those creatures. He’s also really good because your not likely to get targeted in multiplayer for a while. With Xander though, you’re gonna get targeted and killed before you can even bring him out. Jetmir is at least A tier.
Evelyn needs to be knocked down tier. Although, yes her first ability is amazing, especially with a panharmonicone effect. You are still limited in the amount of vampires you can throw out. Sure they are heavily supported, but majority of token generators for vampires are in W/B, there is about 5 in mono black R/B. Yes you can go for a flicker deck combo, but once again you're limited in how much you can flicker due to blue having a limited amount of flicker effects. If anything Evelyn should be knocked down to a B tier if not low A tier.
I don't think qty of vamps will limit Evelyn. I think # of instants u can exile with her is a bigger limiting factor. You'll need some Teferi/quicken type effects. Or be able to have an idea what opp will exile.
I think Rigo is definitely good, but unless you have a bunch of other effects out you’re drawing 1 card/attacked player. 3 extra cards a turn is great, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not 1 card per attacking creature. Just to nitpick for a sec. Also, I feel like people are missing the fact that Bennie Bracks can easily come in for free, no mana spent. A card draw engine for 0 mana is very good, just saying. The downside of creating a token to draw a card is negligible if the deck is built well. I think he’s pretty amazing. Not game-breaking or anything, but very good.
I think raffine is very low on this list I think it’s easily s tier with draw grave yard fill power up and making a stax build I’ve definitely seen it as cedh thank for vide!
Rigo only makes you draw 1 card because one or more creatures attacking and because player or planeswalker it doesn't matter how much you attack or how much you attack with
I find it bizarre that you put your contenders for (and winner of) the Golden Pig so low, while also lambasting someone like the Magpie for being so narrow while praising them so highly prior.
The contenders for the golden pig are his personal favourites of the sets, here he's evaluating their strength compared to the other legends of the set
A question that comes to mind for me is: Does Evelyn finally give Edgar Markov competition in terms of the best vampire tribal commander? Answer is probably not, but she definitely seems like a very close second
Depends on the definition of "best." Edgar Markov supports an aggro playstyle and the new commander obviously doesn't compete in that category, but that style has historically suffered from falling behind in card advantage which Evelyn specializes at.
I'm definitely building Ognis. I would run ziatora but her high cmc stops me. Our meta has... too much removal and if you play a commander higher than 4 cmc at our table it will likely be killed so many times you can't cast it again.
I’m very much like you. I liked Ziatora, but my issue is either: A) Her Mana Value is high when looking at removal B) I could run Korvold for a stronger deck, if less fun and interesting C) I could run a Jarad deck and do her Fling shenanigans but at every opponent. In the long run I chose to build Ognis too, and am still working on it, but I certainly wanted to try and build Ziatora
Saying that Rocco is Tier S is the same as pretending that Worldly Tutor is broken. If that would be the case, every Commander game would be a game of "who will find his tutor first". The ability is strong, but he is doing nothing else. In other words, if your win combo needs just two pieces, and one of them is a 3-mana creature, you need to have another combo piece and 3RGW. Until that time, your commander is doing NOTHING - not even guards your life. And to find that second combo piece, you will still need a lot of tutors. Evelyn is overrated as well. Unlike many cards with "you can play the exiled card" words, Evelyn's ability is tied to herself, not to the cards, so when Evelyn is removed, you lose the ability to play the cards. Of course, you will be able to play them again if you re-cast Evelyn, but 7 mana is a lot, not even talking about more. She is very good, but not S-tier. And if you consider Lord Xander S-Tier, then Tivit should be S-Tier too. Both require some combo pieces to reveal their full potential. If you copy Lord Xander, you will almost destroy one opponent. What if you blink Tivit? Five tokens on each ETB trigger is absurd. And blink effects are much cheaper than clone/duplicate effects, and there are permanents that blink Tivit many times. If you have 20+ tokens, you can win in multiple ways. One Rise and Shine will be enough.
No, permanents are only spells while on stack. Because of the wording on Errant, you have to put the card on stack without casting it which, afaik, can only happen with copied spells. Interesting card, but that's about all the praise I can give it.
Anhelo, Talrand, extra turn spell and Narset's Reversal goes infinite..... Cast extra turn spell, Talrand makes a token, cast Narset's Reversal targeting your extra turn spell and Casualty the token Talrand made. The copy targets your Reversal returning it to hand and the second copy copies the extra turn spell and returns it to hand. So, you take an extra turn with both the extra turn spell and Narset's Reversal in hand.
Anhelo gives casualty to the first I/S spell you cast, not all of them. Because you cast the extra turn spell first, you can't casualty NR. You'd have to put NR on an Isochron Scepter or something.
@@craigbradford9189 also just to clarify, when you have talrand on the board as the only creature and you use Anhelos ability for a lightning bolt for an example, you couldn't target the Drake that talrand produces right? Since Anhelos ability says "as you cast" so that would have to resolve first then talrands ability would go off.
@@craigbradford9189 damn, regardless he's hella fun to play with. Trying to figure out better spells to copy though. And also debating if zevlor, elturel exile is better or not.
Lord Xander A (he might be strong but 7 mana that requires setup to hit all opponents and puts a target on your back isn't amazing), Henzie Torre B (seems a bit slow to me), Falco Spara B (having the top of your deck as an extension of your hand is very powerful), Perrie C (idk I like him I'm probably biased). The rest looks fine by me, I wish Phabine was higher but I gotta agree to what you said
Henzie at B is too low. Think of him as giving every 4+ creature super Evoke, lowering their cost by 1, and making them cantrips. 3 mana Druid of Purification that draws a card. Solemn Simulacrum becomes a 3 mana draw 2 and ramp 1. Tons of easy advantage from Greater Good, Haruspex, Midnight Reaper, Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos etc. Not CEDH but still very solid.
It seems kinda slow to me getting a good discount on creatures, since you gotta have him killed AND replay him with the commander tax. But you're probably right, one mana is already a great deal if you're using the right creatures
@@erosbronzo6518 Ignore the intentionally getting him killed and replaying him bit, I agree that strategy is ass and have no idea why everyone is so fixated on it.
Rocco making it to S surprised me a bit, the rest of S did not. Honestly I'm a bit surprised they didn't try to balance out the families a bit better. The Maestro cards feel much more powerful than the others, even without casualty, and some are overkill with it. Part of me hopes to see Xander banned in Commander, and Cut ayour Losses should absolutely be banned in Standard.
I don't feel like Xander is actually an S-tier commander. One of the saltiest commanders in existence, sure, but 7 mana is pretty intensive (granted, this is a set with treasure generation out the ass), he's a heavy buildaround (sacrifice/reanimation or clones), and he has 11/10 on the "instant archnemesis of the entire table" scale. I still think he warrants a banning solely for being unfun as shit, either for the person playing him and being policed or the person playing against him and getting buried.
@@C00kiesAplenty He's not really powerful, but he's a pain in the ass to deal with *and* inherently just saps the fun out of a game as opposed to adding to it. Not a good outlook for a fun-focused format like Commander.
@@astuteanansi4935 Every color has multiple ways to deal with it that don't trigger the last ability. The ETB is bad, the attack ability is literally a downside, and the death trigger just somewhat kingmakes two other people. Its a good card in a reanimator deck to curb simic value piles, but it being in your command zone will actively lower your chance of winning the game. The card being bad will mostly keep it out of the format, a ban is pointless.
No way Xander is S tier. I saw that and immediately started strongly doubting your list. 7 mana and it just isn't that great. It singles out one player to dish the hurt on, you might screw one guy over before it gets removed and you have to pay 9. It's not even the best commander in it's colors for this set, Anhelo is much better. No Jeleva, but not far off. I'd say Tivit is the straight up most busted, he goes infinite with just Time Sieve. Falco draws your deck with devoted druid and divining top and is fringe Cedh, along with Raffine who can be a fringe Cedh deck reanimating Razaketh or Thoracle. Both Raffine and Falco can be made easily into very strong high power decks with things like managorger hydra, quirion dryad and reanimation. 3 and 4 mana value respectively are big upsides, cheap commanders fare better. Rigo is similar to Tymna and Edric, but has a shield counter and the draw triggers off attack, not damage. There are a lot of dorks and hatebears/tutor/ramp creatures with 0-1 power and stuff like the jellyfish. If you want to push him to fringe cedh you can loop extra turns. As far as high power casual and cedh goes, these 5 are my picks for S tier. Rocco is good, I've seen Cedh brews around him and Protean Hulk - but it's 9 mana. In high power pods it's the same problem - super mana intensive.
When I watched the Tier List I was so confused by many placements. I’m sad that I agree that one of the legends I liked from the set, Ognis, is B Tier, maybe low A, but I can’t deny Ognis ain’t the strongest on the block. But I definitely agree with your points about Anhelo, Falco and Xander… also, cEDH with Raffine?! May have to look at that
For denry, I don't think putting a +1/+1 on a persist creature gets rid of the -1/-1 counter does it? I thought the counters simply existed at the same time creating a net neutral effect so because that -1/-1 is still there I don't think they keep coming back.
Hey question for Rocco. Does the commander tax add to your X value? Meaning if I have to pay my first commander tax and only pay for that do I get to search for a X=2?
I may be wrong, but in my playgroup we always payed Commander tax as extra. So in your example, it would be Red, Green, White, X, (+2 Commander tax). I hope this helps👍
It basically become X2RGW with one instance of commander tax. The only "exception" I know is Verazol who has an X in his mana cost but enters the battlefield with a counter for each mana spent to cast him, not mana put in the X
Commander tax doesn't pay for X for the same reason that you pay 11 mana instead of 7 for Xander if you have 2 instances of commander tax. X doesn't care how much you pay, it only cares about what you choose as the X value. When you cast Rocco, you declare X as 2, then the cost becomes 2RGW. If you declare 4, the cost becomes 4RGW. However, discounted mana does count towards X. If your board gave a 2 mana discount to Rocco, you can declare X as 2 to make the cost 2RGW, and since the 2 is generic mana, it gets discounted and you only pay RGW.
@@TriangleChloros Yeah red has some awesome stuff, wheels are the perfect example. But white has a lot going on too (best removals, hatebears, silences to name my favorites), and lately WotC has been printing a lot of white value cards, to the point I'd say white only sucks at card advantage/draw. Being the weakest color doesn't mean being a trash color, especially since both colors have been pushed in the past few years, but I feel like red has slightly less tools
Look they they did my boy jetmir he should be at the very top he is insanely strong and ive won turn 5 with pure combat damage and thats saying something
Xander and Evelyn are way too hyped up. Xander actually doesn't feel like he's doing enough for 7 CMC and Evelyn is just... alright. She's fine. You get access to some cards that don't synergize with your deck. I'd imagine it'll usually end up feeling like a significantly weaker Etali in Grixis colors.
I dunno. Etali has no haste, which makes him really easy to respond to, while Evelyn immediately starts providing value. It's also important to note that she's worded in such a way that allows you to keep playing her previously exiled cards even if she is killed and cast again, which is kind of a big deal.
I disagree a Lot :( Kamiz in B? Xander in S? I agree that xander is a stronger card, but a stronger commander? A tier S commander? Anyone can see It coming Miles away and Just counter it This list are about card Power level, not the best commander

Jinnie is absurdly powerful because she can turn any and all tokens into Cats and Dogs. Treasure tokens, Food, Clues, etc etc. Considering her low CMC...she belongs in S-tier IMO.
Not to mentiomed she can constantly burn your opponent with a fun combo
Rigo's ability says "or more", so at most you will draw three cards for attacking each of your opponents. Regardless of how many creatures are attacking.
Yeah I thought he was mistaken on that as well. Definitely lowers the ranking.
Your forgetting about planeswalkers. So if it runs into a superfriends deck it's going to draw a card for each planeswalker. So it can get more then three, though normally you are probably gonna get at most 3.

I don’t care what anyone says. Having Syrix as a commander looks so fun. We’ll find a way to make it work!!
Until someone trickbinds
@@keizerd9597 I think he is talking about countering Thassa's activated ETB. You'd exile your deck, play Thassa, and the ability would be countered and count not resolve, next draw step you lose.

That is not remotely close to how trickbind or stifle work.
I would have put Jetmir in A. Even with all the hoops you have to go through and his obvious weaknesses, having a 4MV craterhoof behemoth in the command zone is just insane
I agree he is insanely powerful. Just risky because of how easily someone can blow up the board.
I’d certainly argue closer to an end raze forerunners more than craterhoof, but I agree with the sentiment. Jetmir is easily the commander I’m looking most forward to building.
@@thewhitestallion7824 yeah, thats why I say is not S
@@willstebbins5338 It turns 8 1/1 into 64 damage. I say is closer to craterhoof.
Bootleggers stash🤯 tap every land for a haste cat
Just built Raffine in a reanimator build as a discard engine with the key card to get out is Adeline. Going to try it out and see if i can turbo through to try and find my reanimator targets and cards.
im just glad someone knows the power of rocco, green lets it ramp up so fast to tutor for any creatures you ever wanted, its just so fun to play.
I have a feeling that Lord Xander is a prime example of “How to Lose Your Friends”.
Yeah. I mean, the strategy is simple enough. Summon a bunch or dragons and swing for massive damage. Black also can let you go into lifelink easier.
Putrefax one shots are the best
Easier to remove then xenagos tho. He gets instant target
Falco Spara could’ve been the strongest planeswalker commander ever if you could remove any counter
Xander is a great reanimation target. Better suited for the gyard than c-zone.
Jetmir is gonna be a menace. You know you're a strong card when people are considering you for cedh!
He is Craterhoof in the command zone, and craterhoof is a cEDH wincon that's easy to get out especially for elf balls.
Gadia is now the must have angel commander for angel token decks- and angel decks in general in my opinion
Yah just pulled Lord Xander, the Collector today. Excited to make a commander Deck around it.
Have a list?
List?
I think a fun side effect of Evelyn is your denying so many cards form your opponents jsut by playing your creatures. If you swarm enough, it’ll make getting so many of their cards impossible for them.
Nailed it, great episode. I specifically am choosing Maestros for my family for hopes of the painter
I've been looking into making a Dimir cycling deck. Oskar seems like a perfect fit.
Good video, I believe you're mistaken with the persist thing tho. They will still have -1 and+1 counters even if the math negates
Jolene says when a player attacks one of YOUR opponents so if your opponents attack you they don’t get the treasure
mr orfeo, grunn the lonely king (kicked), attack with grunn...power is at 40, follow up with Chandra's ignition, and a fling for good measure. just make sure you can haste grunn.
Lagrella in the D tier? when she is possibly one of the best blink commanders in the best colours? in my local group the lagrella player just slays
I've been playing her in Brawl and winning 70%, which is a lot for me. Lots of tricks if you have lots of flickers.
Also really like Ognis, haste matters is a cool angle, and she's less scary than Korvold which is great. I actually like that the treasures come in tapped. Makes her more fair.
I have a pretty solid deck with her and can confirm that there are both ways around the tapped treasures and the deck still makes crazy value either way
Unfortunately I have to go to bed, but I now have a first watch of the day ready to go
Doesn’t Jolene only give your opponents treasures if they are attacking YOUR opponents? Meaning they will not generate a treasure by attacking you?
Def thought Cormela would be B or even A, great colors and combo lines, makes mid cards good, gotta love it. Damn you Eddie!
Anhelo and Xander in my evelyn decklist. So much value from the vampires in new capenna
i didnt even realize how good Anhelo could be, i was like yeah sure you can copy stuff like torment and shiz but i never thought about extra turn spells, ty
Quick note: opponents don't get treasures from Jolene for attacking you, only your opponents.
You can tell a lot about the comments section over the years by how thorough his disclaimer needed to be.
How could you do that Lagrella? She's powerful as heck.
Raffine is underrated
Wife is looking forward to buffing her Arcades (based on your budget Arcades deck btw) with Rigo. I'm dreading this.
I think raffine is very low on this list I think it’s easily s tier with draw grave yard fill power up and making a stax build I’ve definitely seen it as cedh thank for vide!
Henzie was my personal pick for the precons. Glad he made A tier.
I can't wait to put together Lord Xander, The Collector! Can't wait for a video on him and your recommendations on the 99 to go with him.
Rigo only makes you draw 1 card because one or more creatures attacking and because player or planeswalker it doesn't matter how much you attack or how much you attack with

Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder. Hydras, Dragons, Demons. whaaaaaaat!
She'd definitely be interesting, with a Bloodline Keeper and of course, an intruder alarm.
@@razielwinter that’s nasty and I love it!
I'm definitely building Ognis.
I would run ziatora but her high cmc stops me.
Our meta has... too much removal and if you play a commander higher than 4 cmc at our table it will likely be killed so many times you can't cast it again.
I’m very much like you. I liked Ziatora, but my issue is either:
A) Her Mana Value is high when looking at removal
B) I could run Korvold for a stronger deck, if less fun and interesting
C) I could run a Jarad deck and do her Fling shenanigans but at every opponent.
In the long run I chose to build Ognis too, and am still working on it, but I certainly wanted to try and build Ziatora
Rocco is 100% the BEST Naya commander hands down! Birthing Pod in the command zone is extremely strong
No views gang!
Cormela combos with Saw in Half, Demonic Tutor and Dark Ritual
Will you be creating a budget Tivit?
I really like my Rocco deck. I'm glad he's in the s tier.
Evelyn is broken: Dualcaster mage-Ghostly Flicker- Evelyn get Thassa win fun deck 😅
I’m from the future and Tivit turned out to be the most powerful commander in New Capenna
For Jinnie Fay I think you missed the fact that it turns ANY type of token, not just creature tokens
Scute Swarm with Bess, Soul Nourisher 😱😳
As much i like the aesthetic of the set, im skipping this pre-release. It just didnt grab me. The D&D commander set seems more exciting to me.
It was really fun as a sealed event tho, just as fun, and I could say even more fun than kamigawa (sealed)
Icu mitch rank lagrella low so when you stomp your pod you got defense for it like "look at what I ranked it bro it's bad"
To be fair it's not humanly possible to read her rules text without your brain stroking out a little :P
I’m excited for a Mr. Orfeo double strike buff jank deck
Question to Errant: Creatures coming back from the Graveyard with Effects like Marchesa are Spells, right? So do I gat a Token for just 2 Mana?
@@craigbradford9189 Ah, I thought he gave 1 a turn Casualty, not the first. Thank you for the correction.
@@craigbradford9189 also just to clarify, when you have talrand on the board as the only creature and you use Anhelos ability for a lightning bolt for an example, you couldn't target the Drake that talrand produces right? @@emansfield2017 yeah, I think that's right
@@craigbradford9189 damn, regardless he's hella fun to play with.
Funny how Mitch apologizes to his waifu for putting her in D tier.
Raffine is not a go wide commander, they're much better as an aggressive reanimation commander, imo!
Can someone please help me make a good lagdella, the magpie deck? What are some good cards for her?
Why would Xander be banned it commander? Its trash and will get you killed because its mildly annoying to one person, without any power at all.
@@C00kiesAplenty He's not really powerful, but he's a pain in the ass to deal with *and* inherently just saps the fun out of a game as opposed to adding to it. Not a good outlook for a fun-focused format like Commander.
@@astuteanansi4935
Every color has multiple ways to deal with it that don't trigger the last ability.
Except for anhelo I don’t think any of the other s tier commanders are s tier
May have to look at that
Kamiz seems like it should be higher. Its crazy good.
Feels like Cormela got criminally underrated here
For denry, I don't think putting a +1/+1 on a persist creature gets rid of the -1/-1 counter does it? I thought the counters simply existed at the same time creating a net neutral effect so because that -1/-1 is still there I don't think they keep coming back.
"Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jo-le-ee-een! Please don't take my treasure, just because you can." Wait, she does what? She GIVES them treasure?
Really liking Xander and Evelyn.
So sad to see Roco at S.
Imo, having such an easy tutor, especially in those colours, will make for boring games.
Hey question for Rocco. Does the commander tax add to your X value? Meaning if I have to pay my first commander tax and only pay for that do I get to search for a X=2?
No, commander tax is an additional cost, so the tac is essentially added to the non-x part of the spell when casting
Wait some people still believe Red to be better than White in commander ? Shocking (bad pun intended)
Red has card advantage (wheeeeeeeels), ramp (mostly rituals) a one-card infinite (Godo/Helm)...
Bullies+Worldgorger+Kill Spell is hilarious.
Dr. Doofensmirtz: Perrie, The pulverizer!!?
I disagree a Lot :(
