Thankyou so much! I was looking for how to make plain paranthas, but nobody other than your channel had put it up... everyone else added Aloo parantha and more... I saw your video and now I'm ready to make myself one 😋
So my friend has took me to a great breakfast cafe, they make me halwa, paratha and channa, together with a karak chai and I have to tell you I would take this meal over any English breakfast, or any breakfast of any other nation come to think of it. I've had halwa paratha and channa with a karak chai for so long that it is about time I learned how to cook it for myself, which is why I'm here. Thank you for sharing this video.
Just made my first parathas EVER and thanks yo your tutorial they were brilliant. Why haven't I plucked up the courage before?!!! Thank you so much for your clear instructions. Next stop gobi paratha :)
30 mins later. Made parathas....1st attempt. Vaah kya baat hai. Came out perfect. Few in ghee and few in oil. If you can make roti. This is easier and quick. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏽
Thanks for posting this! This type of parantha is what I’ve been eating since childhood. So I live in Canada - what is the equivalent of the wheat flour here? Or the brand that I should buy?
Hellow dosth, mera bhi ek cooking channel hai usme main Sri Lankake traditional food banathihu or hindi me dub karthihu agar aap dekna chahetho dek sakthiho..mazedaar recipes hai.. Or videos ke bareme aapke opinion muje comment me batha dijiye please ❤❤
It's not really the cultural differences when it comes to roti. These are actually variations of rotis. For example paratha tastes amazing when you're eating spinach subji or curd (spiced up)! Or if you look up spinach rotis! So many delicious variations! Different types of rotis to suit with a certain meal, ya know? :D Give em a try haha. Roti is flat while paratha should give you that thick flavor! Really good! :)

Groundnut oil or rice bran oil. Groundnut oil has its own sweet and pleasing fragrance. So even if you make little bit mistake, the oil will try to maintain balance and save the paraanthaa. Rice bran oil is almost tasteless. So you need to be attentive and learn from each paraanthaa.
Thank you, I realize now what I've been doing wrong. I didn't fold it and roll it again, which I think is kind of like the reason one folds puff pastry -- to let gaps form that will fill with steam and puff the bread. My flatbreads have always been too dense and chewy, and at first I thought it was a problem with my flour (chakki atta), but I think it has to do with the folding.
2 plain paranthas + aloo ki sabji = heaven. Even parantha with chai is so delicious.

I use the Aashirwaad whole wheat atta and it tastes really good. You can buy it from the international food section of either walmart or freshco.
Great, the shale of the paratha reminded me of my mother, she cooked the same shape

How do you make?

Which oil is best to make breakfast parathas?
Groundnut oil or rice bran oil. Groundnut oil has its own sweet and pleasing fragrance. So even if you make little bit mistake, the oil will try to maintain balance and save the paraanthaa.
Rice bran oil is almost tasteless. So you need to be attentive and learn from each paraanthaa.

Wow! the folding is actually simplier than I thought. Thank you so much for explaining that so well
Thank you, I realize now what I've been doing wrong. If dough is too soft and stretchy it's difficult to make round rotis !

Low flame or low medium flame or high flame, which is the best option for making soft paratha
