My father in law tested positive for all lyme’s disease markers using the Rocky Mountain spotted fever test. Doctors have poo pooed lyme’s disease for years and we had a tough time finding a doctor to acknowledge his symptoms. We finally found an infectious disease doctor at John’s Hopkins who specialized in lyme’s to treat him. Even after months of IV treatment he still tested positive. For over 20 years he suffered with joint inflammation and eventually on set dementia. Although he passed at 87 the 20 years of limited mobility were taxing on him. Ticks are a major issue in the northeast and it pisses me off that states like Pennsylvania continue to do nothing above it and doctors refuse to acknowledge the pandemic lyme’s disease actually is

My grown son and I both have Lyme co-infections that will take a full year of antibiotics, or 3 years of herbals, to get rid of (or put into remission). I live in a suburb in Michgan, but it’s everywhere! These nasty infections usually go along with mold, affect your psychological and neurological systems, can create excruciating body pain, and autoimmune issues. I’d bet that 90% of the population has one.
I treat my dog with as safe products I can get away with, and I have my yard sprayed with non-toxic products. However, I saw a German Shepherd that has Lyme in my neighborhood. It’s so sad!
Take every precaution you can with kids and adults! Wear protective clothing, and check your body and your pets for ticks when they come in. I saw that you can make a spray for them with colloidal silver and brush them to get rid of them.
Check out Dr. Elena Frid on You Tube for her suggestions and clothing she designed for this. She’s an autoimmune neurologist, who saw a need for her work and there is one! I haven’t used her services, but I trust her information.

Great video. I am considering either the Stihl 220 or your 450. I am afraid the 450 might weigh a bit much fully loaded. I want to treat a large portion of about ten miles of mountain bike trails that are covered with ticks. So much as stop and put your foot down and you get covered. But I am worried about practicality. Cannot seem to get even a basic idea of how many feet or miles one can expect per tank. Refilling in the woods would just be a matter of logistics (there are several sources of clean water). How many feet of trail do you cover? Any thoughts on the number of refills (gallons) per mile?

You can spray with anything that has the active ingredient a pyrethroid, I use a chemical made for washing dogs and sheeps for thiks, it contains cypermethrin, and it about $1.5 for 100ml, instead of $15 it's also used in agriculture. The results shocked me, no mosquitoes in areas where before you couldn't breathe, I find them dead on the ground. Also, I discovered that spraying them in the evening is nuclear, I love seeing them fly through my fog.

@@SilverCymbal I don't know if cypervet( the product in România that contains cypermethrin) lasts for 30 days and I bet it doesn't, but it's cheap, quick and super effective. I am yet to spray all my property because I have some more pasture to weed whak, then I will spray everything, but I did some tests and it works. This morning I found some more mosquitoes dead in the alley. If the medium term results are unsatisfactory I will eventually buy a proper product made to last.

Good advice, Demand is a common go to product for those who are in the pest control industry, to treat pests such as these. You were lucky to have a still day to do this, i heavily caution this though as Demands effectiveness also comes from its ability to repel insects. Strong repellents are very irritable to the skin!, within minutes of the spray wafting over you, you start to feel the itch & burn from this.
It is basic practice to use wear full face masks & protective cover-all's when using powered misters/blowers etc. Spray drift will happen!!
Another weapon in the fight against these pests is a season application of insecticide sand to lawns & gardens. Read the instructions carefully & ALWAYS USE SPARINGLY! Cats have been known to walk in areas that have been overly treated, lick their paws clean & either become very sick or die from poisoning. Do not fear, just use as directed... sparingly..
The reality though is that in many counties, commercial grade insecticides are registered & only fully qualified pest professionals can purchase it. The domestic range found in hardware stores does work yet it is *watered down to minimize collateral damage.
Costs - i am aware of the dollar/price conversion compared to my country yet we are paying over $1000 for the motorblower unit alone. over $100 for the product & a total of approx $400 for the PPE. There is a real *knack to using powered misting units effectively & i would caution you to consider neighbours, crops, gardens, flowering plants & the like BEFORE going ahead with this. There are smaller, less powerful units out there known as UV misters, these are fantastic yet you also need to know the gears pro/cons.
I am not trying to caution people away from doing this, just opening up considerations not mentioned here.
It may have become obvious that i am in the pest industry & this advice comes from experience on the job. If you live in a more urban landscape & recommend a smaller UV mister for the job, they do not blow product 10m+ into the air like the motorblow does.
In all honesty though, unless you are comfortable using pesticides & understand the legal/environmental & social impacts that come with it, leave this to the professionals who have trained eyes & knowledge of their gear.
Mosquito treatments are not that expensive & you should be charged no more than an average price for a fairly common task. The best way to eliminate all of the above is to let the pro's do the job.

There is plenty of junk on it here but definitely nice finds. My Kubota was from CL also. I almost never buy any gear new these days. Takes some work but the savings is worth it. Unfortunately, this blower wouldn't do very well with those types of chemicals, I think it would be too messy. I didn't mention it in the video but this blower can actually spray granules and dusts, there is a switch in the bottom of the tank that allows dry spraying. Common for orchards and similar applications. Thank you for watching and I will soon have another cool Craigslist find coming up soon on a video also.

    • @SilverCymbal
      @SilverCymbal  5 лет назад

Finding where they breed can be easy or impossible. This spraying kills ticks and mosquitos when they land to rest. So if you have plants, very likely that is where they are landing. You can get rid of it., or if its in the city and it's a smaller area and you want to get rid of mosiquiots you can spray them ensuring to coat under the leaves too since that's often where they land. They will then be controlled by making contact with the Demand CS

Unfortunately no. It is toxic to bees and is non-selective. The way I apply it reduces the impact since bees don't tend to hand on the edges of your property like mosquitoes ands are not at ground level like ticks.
