Great video! I use the Mosquito Sniper system and it performs very similar to the Tomahawk backpack sprayer at a fraction of the cost (I think it was ~$50)
Good stuff! Wanted to try that but opted for the larger tank and ease of use the sprayer provided. Can treat 3/4 acre property in one tank in about 10 minutes. Its definitely a time saver.
Never tried it but has great reviews. Demand CS is 6X more expensive than Bifen IT. Approximately $3 per mixed gallon versus $0.50 per gallon. I can't get past the price difference.
Adding IGR will raise your $ per gallon but Demand only treats adults which is why I can't get past the cost difference when I've had success with cheaper products

How has the tomahawk sprayer held up? I've been looking into purchasing a sprayer but cant decide between the stihl and tomahawk. Obviosly there is a big cost savings going with the tomahawk. I own about 35 acres with 3.5 acres I plan on actively spraying. Thanks!
Only had mine going on 3 years. No issues so far. I assume the stihl is 2x in price. I love stihl, but only use the sprayer 4 or 5 times a year, so went cheaper. Rest of my yard equipment is stihl which gets used almost weekly.
I’ve been questioning my paying $30+ a month for bug spraying, with my main goal being mosquito control. And I don’t really feel like they control my mosquitos. Perhaps it is time to go DIY.
You got something for flies? There are lots of flies that hang out in my bushes, plants, and grass. The flies are really annoying when we’re having outdoor bbqs and being outdoors in general. I need these flies under control.
I just started sprayering for them but a week and half later they came back . Could that be because it rain for 4 days straight or for watering the grass ?

Does Bifen also treat for ants? I get a company to spray annually as I have a bad ant problem. It looks like the product says it treats for ants but I don't know how effective it is on ants and that's my biggest issue. Also we can't get Bifen in Canada. Any other product recommendations?
The same products can ba applied using a hose end sprayer. Just add chemical to reservoir on hose end sprayer and set rate to 1 oz per gallon for most products. Of course you will want to confirm rates per product labels. The issue with hose end sprayer and even the garden sprayer is you will end up using a lot more chemical for same area as it delivers very large droplets. The foggers are going to be more effective in delivering the chemical into foliage that mosquitos hide in and won't waste chemicals with over applying. The fogger will pay for itself in long run in savings from excess spray and $ spent on chemicals.
It’s a good idea to add a surfactant to the water. This helps the water droplets spread out, and not bead up like it does on a freshly waxed car. 1 teaspoon of dish soap, or baby shampoo is a good surfactant that everyone will commonly have.
Yikes! Pays for itself quick if its something you want done and don't mind doing it. I am only spraying about 3 times a year now. Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day (still need to do this one and have seen a few mosquitos lately).
Mosquito spray chemicals last up to 90 days so they soon die if they do enter. I was a sceptic as well at first, but stuff works wonders. Also helps if neighbors are on board so offer to spray theirs as well and chip in on chemicals. Thanks for watching!
@@thebumpchannel First, thanks for the great video. After reading the label multiple times and watching other videos, none of which exactly answered my question, I decided to follow logic. When in doubt, rule it out.

@@13eejus Tomahawk has the same sale running thru Memorial Day this year (2023) as well at Menards. With the combination of sale price and 11% rebate, I paid only $222 for the backpack fogger. Unreal.
Awesome. Yeah it's a no-brainer if you were paying for service and don't mind doing it yourself. Only takes 10 minutes with sprayer and pays for itself in 1st season.
I just spoke to a franchise mosquito spray company this morning. They quoted $79 every 3 weeks. I have a question, 90% of my shrubs, plants and trees are flowering. I assume I should just spray the perimeter avoiding these. We have a field behind our house with a lot of wild growth behind our fence which would benefit for the treatment as well. Thanks for the informative video.
Yeah that is why doing it yourself makes sense. The blower will pay for itself in one season. I am getting about 6 weeks between treatments before I start seeing mosquitos again. I am using the IGR as well.
Bifen IT is safely used in thousands of homes across the country everyday. Bifen IT is safe for use around pets when used according to the label. You should always keep children and pets away from the area while you are treating, and then once the treatment is dry it is perfectly safe to allow pets to re-enter the area
Yeah, but what happens when you have puppies and dogs that like chewing or bushes and some grass?? I know they say it's safe when dry but don't think the have anything for me with dogs that chew like cows
At $100 a qt was not sure the math works in its favor but it actually does if you always use an IGR and it works as well as Bifen plus IGR. Appreciate the comment may give it a try.
@@thebumpchannel I should add that after I purchased Proflex and reading label …it’s not recommended for backpack Foggers. So I used a hose end sprayer for this application. I alternate applications and use my backpack fogger for Bifen it. So definitely not for everyone.

Great video and info!
Glad it was helpful! Appreciate the comment!
Thanks for the info. I also came across the Bifen I/T 7.9%, do you know anything about that?
That's it. Same thing. Link in comments.
Very informative sir. Well done. Thanks
Glad it was helpful! Thx for the comment! Please give the video a thumbs-up if you haven't already!
I’ve been questioning my paying $30+ a month for bug spraying, with my main goal being mosquito control. And I don’t really feel like they control my mosquitos. Perhaps it is time to go DIY.
Go for it! You won't be disappointed and will save $$$.
$30+ a month! 😮 Best price Ive heard of. Now quality of service, idk. I wouldnt get out truck for $30-$40 range
You got something for flies? There are lots of flies that hang out in my bushes, plants, and grass. The flies are really annoying when we’re having outdoor bbqs and being outdoors in general. I need these flies under control.
Bifen works for flies as well.
I just started sprayering for them but a week and half later they came back . Could that be because it rain for 4 days straight or for watering the grass ?
I applied once so far this year and no mosquitos. Have been getting close to 6 weeks before seeing any in previous years. Bifen only or did you add an IGR?
Do you mixed both the Biden/IT together with Tekkp pro ?
I have trees right next to my pool…. Is Bifen and temp safe to use? I am a bit worried that the chemicals are getting into the pool
I would refer to product label but would you don't think you could apply and keep it out of the pool? Obviously is very dilluted as is...and even further in a pool
Do you mixed both together?
yes
Do I mix Bifen and tekko and the same time or use them separately?
At same time unless you want to spray twice! Appreciate the comment. Thx for watching!
What setting for the mister nozzle have you found that works best?
Not sure. I set it and forget it, lol. Mine is just a small dial if I recall.
It is Talstar the same as Bifen? And how long last? I mean after rain do I have to spray again?
Yes same active ingredient. I have been getting 4-6 weeks before reapplying. If I have a party or something coming up I might spray, but otherwise I won't spray until I start seeing them again which is several weeks later.
Hi there, along with flowering plants, should vegetable gardens be avoided too during spraying?
If you are worried about bees then probably. I would refer to label for guidance about food crops.
The same active ingredient is approved for agricultural crops, however the label for this product is not approved use. This article does a better job of explaining
ipm.ucanr.edu/legacy_assets/pdf/pubs/greenbulletin.2021.fall.pdf
It would be "off label" use if so, but I would use some common sense and educate myself on the topic.
Bifen I/T 128oz jug on Amazon has a different looking label than I'm used to. Is it the same ole Bifen I/T?
Yes. Both links in video description are manufactured by Control Solutions. I think the amazon listing is an old image.
Bifen I/T: (DoMyOwn) shrsl.com/35f88 (Amazon) amzn.to/2YPIkz8
I have one of those cutter corded foggers. Can I use these chemicals in that?
Not sure. I'm not familiar with it.
Do you mix both Bifen and Tekko in the same cycle or use each one in a different cycle?
Mix them both at the same time and apply together.
Thx for watching and I hope you consider subscribing and please give the video a thumbs up!
Great informative video
Thanks for the comment and thx for watching!
Can you mix the bifen and IGR and spray at the same time?
Yes of course. You add both to tank and spray together at once. Thx for watching!
@@thebumpchannel ordered both on Amazon and will be here tomorrow. Thanks
What's the best time of the day to fog?
For best results apply when the mosquitoes are most active. Application during the cooler hours of the night or early mornings is recommended."
Does Bifen also treat for ants? I get a company to spray annually as I have a bad ant problem. It looks like the product says it treats for ants but I don't know how effective it is on ants and that's my biggest issue. Also we can't get Bifen in Canada. Any other product recommendations?
Bifen does kill ants, but the stuff below is great for ants.
Combat gel

Is there a similar product that can be applied with a hose end sprayer?
The same products can ba applied using a hose end sprayer. Just add chemical to reservoir on hose end sprayer and set rate to 1 oz per gallon for most products. Of course you will want to confirm rates per product labels.
The issue with hose end sprayer and even the garden sprayer is you will end up using a lot more chemical for same area as it delivers very large droplets. The foggers are going to be more effective in delivering the chemical into foliage that mosquitos hide in and won't waste chemicals with over applying.
The fogger will pay for itself in long run in savings from excess spray and $ spent on chemicals.
I always get the largest size of everthing i use and the Bifen IT is my drug of choice
Appreciate the comment!
Thanks
Welcome. Appreciate the comment!
Your thoughts on the battery powered Tomahawk fogger?
Haven't tried it.
It’s a good idea to add a surfactant to the water. This helps the water droplets spread out, and not bead up like it does on a freshly waxed car. 1 teaspoon of dish soap, or baby shampoo is a good surfactant that everyone will commonly have.
Good idea. Thx for sharing!
excellent video brother. Help me a lot.
I appreciate the comment. Please give the video a thumbs up and consider subscribing!
I just called my termite company and they said their charge for 1/4 acre mosquito treatment for one time is $198
Yikes! Pays for itself quick if its something you want done and don't mind doing it.
I am only spraying about 3 times a year now. Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day (still need to do this one and have seen a few mosquitos lately).
Nice product introductions.
Thanks Wei! Appreciate the comment!
So when did mosquitoes start staying in individual yards?
Mosquito spray chemicals last up to 90 days so they soon die if they do enter. I was a sceptic as well at first, but stuff works wonders. Also helps if neighbors are on board so offer to spray theirs as well and chip in on chemicals.
Thanks for watching!
If I get some over spray on my fruited apple trees, can I wash the pesticides off with soap and water at harvest time or are the Apples ruined ?
I am not sure. It is supposed to be safe for humans and pets, but I would refer to the label guidance for any insecticide you use.
@@thebumpchannel First, thanks for the great video. After reading the label multiple times and watching other videos, none of which exactly answered my question, I decided to follow logic. When in doubt, rule it out.

Hey How’s the sprayer going. I subscribed. Ive been eyeing this sprayer and other equipment by Tomahawk. Excellent product.
I love it! Spraying mine this week! Thx for the comment and for subscribing.
Tomahawk has has a memorial day sale running now, might pick one up!
@@13eejus you won't regret it! Love my sprayer!
@@13eejus Tomahawk has the same sale running thru Memorial Day this year (2023) as well at Menards. With the combination of sale price and 11% rebate, I paid only $222 for the backpack fogger. Unreal.
What if you have artificial turf?
Check the label, but I assume you can spray it.
Can this be used to run off mice
Not sure
Was paying $75 every 3 weeks. Only did two payments because buying the backpack sprayer and chemicals would pay for itself in 6 payments
Awesome. Yeah it's a no-brainer if you were paying for service and don't mind doing it yourself. Only takes 10 minutes with sprayer and pays for itself in 1st season.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it! Please give the video a thumbs up and consider subscribing to the channel!
Just FYI I looked up the Bifen IT abs it is toxic to dogs. Have you used any other pet friendly ones that worked ok?
Bifen IT is safely used in thousands of homes across the country everyday. Bifen IT is safe for use around pets when used according to the label. You should always keep children and pets away from the area while you are treating, and then once the treatment is dry it is perfectly safe to allow pets to re-enter the area
Yeah, but what happens when you have puppies and dogs that like chewing or bushes and some grass?? I know they say it's safe when dry but don't think the have anything for me with dogs that chew like cows
What pesticide can I use that won't harm bees?
Not sure.
Look into Ecovia MT or Mirimichi Green for safer mosquito treatments for bees.
Or In2care mosquito buckets. They work great but you have to get a company to get them for you.
Proflex has regulators in it so really is a all in one insecticide.
@@rayminyard1 Gotcha. Thx.
@@rayminyard1 probably a deal breaker for me.
Can anyone tell me if this chemical will kill lizards and smaller vertebrate like snakes?
I have green Anoles and garden snakes and mediterranean house gekos.
I'm afraid in the wet state the chemical will kill these guys.
I would refer to product label. Haven't seemed to affect the skinks in my yard.
Please use a mask and stuff to cover your face just in case the wind kicks back in your face. It used to irritate me very much when I worked for a mosquito company years back.
I appreciate the comment!
🐝Very sad that you didn't mention that it's best to spray in the morning or evening when mosquitoes are most active.🐞
Unfortunately most people don't have the common sense 🐝 You don't want to spray in daytime that's when the pollinators are most active, unless you don't have anything blooming in your yard that would be all right 🐝
Yeah, wish I had mentioned that. Thx for watching!
In ct, you must get de 3A license to buy that chemical.
Yeah looks like PR, CT, NY, VT (Restricted To Licensed Applicators Only)
For Bifen, not seeing any restrictions on the Tekko the IGR
Move to a red state.
How quickly after spraying will it kill the the little shits so you can go back to enjoying the lawn. IE immediately, 24 hours, etc
About 10 minutes
$89 every 3 wks .
Dallas Dfw area
Sprayer will pay for itself in one season! Thx for commenting!
Kills dragonflies also, makes mosquitos come back stronger. plus it made my dog sick
Do you know of a natural solution to spray that won’t harm pollinators?
Not sure. Nothing that actually works.
See the first 6 seconds of the video
hi i ordered Bifen IT BIFENTHRIN 1gal for 3880 pesos in the philippines
That's amazing. Halfway across the world! Thx for sharing!
Demand cs is the best stuff I’ve found
Never tried it but has great reviews. Demand CS is 6X more expensive than Bifen IT. Approximately $3 per mixed gallon versus $0.50 per gallon.
We have the Ryobi fogger. Is this heat or non heat chemicals?
Not sure what that means as I don't have one. I assume non heat.
@@thebumpchannel some solutions need the heated propane fogger. Are these solutions needing heat? And do you know anything about ExciteR?
Nice. I will get someone else to do it so I dont have to wear a hazmat suit.
Respirator not even required outdoors per label, but safety and PPE is always worth mentioning. Good luck!
I don't see the link for the respirator.
It's in the video description! Thx for watching!
From the Bifen website, these products are "highly toxic" to bees.
Exactly why I covered this in the video!
Is this toxic or a forever chemical?
I would refer to the product labels. Thx for watching!
