I live in Wisconsin. Spraying or fogging the yard doesn’t work. Once the sun goes down, swarms of mosquitoes come out of the forests and corn fields. We stay indoors at night because mosquitoes are too much.
I enjoyed watching your video, you've explain what, why and how you're doing everything in great detail. Please add the importance of personal safety gear when applying chemicals. It's just as important as not spring the Roses
Dynatrap has worked for me. I have a small stream in my back yard that attracts so many mosquitos. We leave this running as soon as the snow melts all spring summer fall for three years. It has decimated the mosquito population. The key is to have it out asap in the spring to catch the females before they breed. Also, keep it about 12 feet from where you hang out in the back yard so it gets the mosquitos away from you. I still use coils and tikis for parties but this product has really helped. It won’t help if you put it out for a party because it’s basically like having another human there attracting the mosquitos. You need to use repellants for that. This brings down your mosquito population in general. Spraying seems effective too! Very informative.
Thanks for mentioning bees... but also keep in mind the spray dosnt know the diffrence from a mossie, moth, or butterfly... so you're killing all the benificial insects at the same time and starving the critters that feed on them. My suggestion is dont do the whole neighbourhood. If you're hanging out mainly in the back, then no need to do the front yard too. Best thing you can do is break the breeding cycle by eliminating open water sources, which shouldn't be too hard as you're in Utah right, which mostly a dry climate (except for that lawn which looks like it gets watered pretty often).
Great Video! Only two adds. 1. Long-sleeved shirt and pants. 2. RESPIRATOR RESPIRATOR RESPIRATOR!. Especially with the fuel - powered back pack blower.
My son works for a mosquito company here in San Antonio and the first week he started the chemicals are so strong you want to use a respirator even if you're using Bifen
Yes. He’s breaking label laws by not wearing a long sleeve shirt. A full face respirator is not required, but I never do any pesticide treatments without it on.
@@Genetherapy3232 he ,my son ,always wear a long sleeve shirt but yes that is a given with that specific kind of job. I even do it when I spray. @@Genetherapy3232 I totally agree just because the bottle says you don't have to wear one because there's plenty of ventilation does not mean you shouldn't wear one. I'm due for it anyway right now because of scorpion season here in Texas and I've already killed three in my house just within the last 2 weeks
The problem with this treatment is application material, time, and equipment. First, Talstar is best for surface application and structures. Second, the time you are applying it is in daylight when all other non-target pests are active. Like bees, butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, wasps, etc. The equipment used sprays a coarse spray. It need to be below 20 microns. A fog formulation. It also need to be sprayed after dusk when the only insects active are midges and female mosquitoes, which are the only one that take blood meals and carry diseases. Male mosquitoes live on nectar and plants. Oh and FYI, I have owned a pest control company for 30 years and have extensive experience in vector control and municipal mosquito abatement.

Great video.... whats a good sprayer that I could used for pesticide and herbicide ?
The gas sprayer can i used it as a herbicide sprayer?
I go over several sprayer options in this video and I think all 4 are good options for both pesticides and herbicides. I would not apply herbicides with the backpack blower though as it's not precise enough. Heres the link to the sprayer video. ruclips.net/video/fe68z-blki0/видео.html
