How many of those cities are run by Democrats and have been historically?
There's your answer.
As I am a 🇨🇦 Canadian, I have never been to any Dangerous Cities in 🇺🇸 USA.
Seattle, tacoma and olympia Washington are all insane. I avoid them at all costs and given Washington passed a bill preventing police from chasing down robbery suspects it’ll get worse
I live in a city where the biggest mass shooting befell to interrupt the country music festival. It's how 1 October got established. There will be more and more homicides in the country due to the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution. To make the place with security, have Congress repeal the act!

Thank you so much😁😁😁
Thank you lol
Okay what the fuck is up with Missouri. It's got three fucking cities on this list.
I'm in Michigan, and I'm Really Really Shocked that the city of Flint, didn't make the list, they're considered just as dangerous as Detroit
Flint native here, I’m shocked too…
I grew up in Flint and I'm really surprised also.
Flint has fucking Lead in the water
I'm from Detroit and I am too😂
Facts
For someone that lives in Memphis, it sucks that I have to see my city and other cities be known for their negative reputation. I just wish for this to end because I can't stand to see this level of violence to happen so often
Yes I agree with you and I'm from Memphis TN
Yeah, but take a look at the murder rates per state. Eight of the 10 are red states (mainly in the southwest), while the two remaining are Georgia (which will for sure go right back to red once Trump's not the nominee) and Illinois (9th), which is a huge state that is mainly farmland after you get outta Chicago and Rockford. It's a false narrative being pushed that major cities with blended environments are full of animals compared to the mainly Caucasian rural areas that is complete horses**t. You put 300 trailer parks together and give them the same disadvantages economically and with law enforcement, and they would eat each other alive. Yes Memphis is a horrible area for violent crime. 27.1 murders per 100,000. But New York City ( the most populated city) is at 3.1 per 100,000. Is that indicative of how violent Memphis is? Or does that have something to say more about the pressures that the surrounding environments put on the Metropolitan areas to score political points? I've lived in both types of environments multiple times in my life. I moved back to the city in 2018 because I was tired of my "friends" talking and acting just like a foot soldier for the Taliban. Just a different language while using a different book to oppress people who didn't fit their ideology. Yes, Memphis can be dangerous. But so can Alabama if you run into the wrong people.
Crime rates are way up in every blue state since this administration took office. Besides most major cities are blue even in red states. All I'm saying is armed innocent people are less likely to wind up in a homicide case and with more police crime rates naturally drop. Deal with this border problem as well and deport illegal immigrants who ate most likely mixed up with the cartels and watch how fast the crime rate drops
@@kylesouthard6095 Crime going up everywhere genius!!!! You just disregarded the entire point to spew your garbage basically. Thanks for playing though Einstein👍.
My brother is there and hates it
I lived in Anchorage, Alaska my whole life until a little over a year ago when I moved to Atlanta. I feel 500% safer in Atlanta than I ever did in Alaska.
I hear women are hunted more than moose up there. Not good.
And I'm glad you got the hell out of there and far away.
@@janeentumbao8690 You're not wrong about that. What's even worse is the moose have more rights too! At least when they are attacked, harmed or killed, the government and law enforcement actually care.
Meanwhile, women in Anchorage are kidnapped and assaulted in the middle of the street in broad daylight, but instead of getting sympathy and justice, they get judged and belittled by the courts while the man responsible for the attack never serves time because he (according to jude) "is an upstanding citizen and family man who shouldn't have his life ruined by one mistake"
*Just one of the reasons I'm also glad I got out of there*
(Air hug)
I've lived in Stockton, CA my whole life and the crime here is ridiculous, I'm really surprised it's not higher up. The constant shootings here are insane.
Hispanic gangs, like ng a problem. My old GF was from there.
I pray for Stockton Ca in Jesus name. Protect the children father God. ❤️
I'm with you Stephanie. With the large number of Hispanics that live there, I'm surprised it's not ranked at the very top.

I live in Michigan, and I hear about crime stories on the news every day in Detroit. I hope one day Detroit can become safer for the people who live in it in the future
🙏
Gee, wonder why?
As soon as they stop voting in the pillagers,, they might have a chance..
Thanks for the vacation tips.
And the safety tips if we ever go to these places…
Yeah I doubt I’ll be visiting any of these cities any time soon
Between 2016 and 2019, I lived in Albuquerque. I was definitely aware of the crime problem.
I grew up there and it’s pretty ridiculous. We lived in a bad part of the city off San Meteo and it was pretty frightening.
Beautiful city, but yeah, terrible crime rate.
I ve been here a long time , we had ,172 murders last year, bad....
You should do a top 20 safest American cities list
Yeah!
@@REALzackychan it's not in the top 20, that doesn't mean it's safe
There are none. Every city is at the bottom of the list.
Portland might be one of them

I live in Chicago. As bad of a rep we get, I'm shocked we're not on this list
Oh yeah
I'm surprised too
I’m planning to coming for a vacation there. Would you say it’s a safe place to visit? Is there much crime in the daytime?
@@janski1982 I live an hour north of Chicago and I'll only go there on very rare occasions when hosting friends from out of town. My suggestion is to walk around the tourist areas like by the museums or the rich area such as Magnificent Mile. I do not suggest being out late at night. the Art museum is the best in the world just after the Louvre. Field museum is also wonderful as is the aquarium and planetarium. Lots of great shopping/food (gotta try Chicago deep dish pizza) on magnificent mile and good views of lake Michigan. I'd also recommend going to Willi's Tower. I hope you have a great time!
@@janski1982 been there 15 times. I always stay in the city. Been to Hyde park, little village, north side as well and nothing has happened to me. Abs I’ve been out to wrigleyville at night without any issues. Just watch your surrounding and research the area. They’re parts of Chicago that you should stay away at night which generally is the south and west side.
I'm curious to see what are the top 20 SAFEST cities in the US (above 100k population) and cross examine their history and policies.
They can't. There aren't even ten cities in America that would be considered safe anymore.
I would like to see data- population, race/ethnicity, employment, drugs, politics, etc.
The top 20 highest crime cities are Democrat (well 1 is independent) and the top 20 best cities is 17 R , 1 D and 2 that can go both way (I) . In 2020 it was 18R 2(I) the best and 19D 1I the worst

I'm happy that I live in Porto, Portugal. Here Crime is less common and usually it is shocking when a murder happens.
Beautiful city, I loved it as a Portugeese American to go back to my country where my family came from and appreciate my culture.
Portugal is such an underrated country
America is extremely violent. Most Americans will be murdered at some point in their lives
Portugal is one of the most peaceful countries in the world. I've never heard of there being riots, terrorist attacks, mass shootings etc. there. The only bad news from Portugal I've heard was the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
@@XTheLolX301 you're right.
As the list went on, I was so proud of Alabama not having a city make the list, and then comes Birmingham at #3... 😅
I live in Chilton county 30 min from da Bham area and I can tell you from experience, that this entire area is basically a police state!! Shit on lockdown. Shit so chaotic that you can't go a few miles without seeing 12 everywhere watching your every move!!! My advice GTFO if you here!!! If not DO NOT VISIT!!! I promise your not missing out on anything💯
😂😂 same happened to me
GA chillin :D
I am shocked that Mobile didn't make the list.
@@babytekk I do not all that I live in the city. Unless you into drugs or crime activity, you only see the police ride by you. Honestly as a black person, my mom was told in the 70s and 80s not to stop in Chilton county because of the you know who. Most homicides in Birmingham are drug related.
New Orleans and Memphis are two cities you don't wanna mess around in.
I live in Memphis…there’s something going in this city every single second. And it’s all dangerous. Killings, thefts…my wife was a victim of an armed car jacking a few months ago…right in front of our front door.
@JerkingMyBeats Baton Rouge starting to become bad too.
Agree. I lived in Memphis for a year. I'm actually visiting family here right now. Not much has changed. A shooting on Beale St recently. Smh.
@@lex172 Been up two times yall accent cracks me up.
I honestly thought Baltimore would be higher than 4. I know it's a small city compared to some others but still.
it's because the city is known for sweeping a lot of stuff under the rug....they have always lied about how many murders the city really has.
I knew we'd be in the top 5 smh
It's because they're considering other factor other than homicide.
I'm sure we're #1 now!!
These are old totals Bmore is higher now
Watching from San Bernardino
Not my home state of Missouri having 3 cities on this list, but I’m not surprised at all
Also, my home state of California.
So, welcome to the club
I don't live in Milwaukee but I do live in a small suburb in the metro area.
Went to school at MATC and my first car was stolen there in one of the outdoor
parking lots in 99. Learned quickly that the indoor parking lots was the way to go so
I've known for a long time that there's a lot of crimes there plus the violence.
omg. I am even planning to have a trip there right now.
It be like that smh I’m from Milwaukee I almost got shot on 11th n Locust north side, 14th n Grant and 14th n Mitchell south side. A person got killed in front of my great-grandpa’s house Buffum and Center hood on east side

The Milwaukee Art Museum is very nice and there's a lot of bars if
you like to drink. If you're okay with something similar to a rich ice cream,
frozen custard is very good. Especially in the summer. Also cheese curds are
very common here. Toppers Pizza is very good.
Surprised Orlando didn’t make the list. I remember that city being a mainstay on these kinds of lists.
I live in Orlando and I agree, this city has a MAJOR crime problem. Statically we’re worse than Miami and Jacksonville!!! But compared to the cities on this list? Orlando is not as bad
When one of my aunts was interviewing for med school, she actually turned down Washington University partially because of how much she hated St. Louis
Well tell her St. Louis hates her too
Sure she did.
I agree with number one, but number two should’ve been St. Louis because both of those cities are rated in the top 10 most dangerous cities in the world
If Los Angeles is NOT on the list some one forgot to add it the list
Sorry but St. Louis compared to Memphis is unfair
STL native here, it has always been notorious for murder and meth
The world? I have been to St Louis. It’s not like being in Mexico City slums at 2am or in Brazil etc.
Nah bruh, im from Memphis. I got out for a reason.
I want to see more lists like this one. I didn't know about most of these.
I'm surprised Nashville made this list at 20, and I live an hour away from the city.
I'm not
I live in a small town not to far from Birmingham, Alabama and I have always been told stories of how violent and impoverished the city was. Whenever your driving into Birmingham you look to the sides if the interstate and you can see street after street of crumbling and abandoned homes. Every time I have to go into the city I always have to look over my shoulder, lock my car, and check the nearby corners just in case there was a man ready to rob me. Its quite sad becauss Birmingham was a major location of the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and to see the African American community living in such conditions is not what MLK had in mind. In the 60s the KKK detonated so many bombs against black churches and synagogues that Birmingham was nicknamed Bombingham. I can only hope that things will get better but hope can only get us so far.
i heard stories from Birmingham too and I’m from Tuscaloosa Alabama not a bad city but people moved from away from Birmingham good people but bad people Birmingham always come over here to start some trouble
As a Philly native, I’m shocked phillys not on here.
It’s strange-I briefly visited Birmingham a few years ago on the way to a wedding. It seemed quite pleasant. It was easy to move around in, there were great sights to see, and it wasn’t even that crowded. But if this video is telling the truth, then that experience was an exception rather than the rule
Mind you, typically the majority of violent acts happen in specific areas within that city.
@@anthonyfletcher8053 Correct 💯 but don't get it twisted I'm here in Bham and it's a place where I don't leave my home without my 9!!
Very good exception!!! Been here most my life and it's no different from Chicago, little rock, or Memphis! And I got family in all 4 states, the south down here done turned to tha wild west!! Don't leave home without it!!! Stay safe!
I live an hour from Birmingham in Gadsden, Al it's pretty bad here and we aren't a major city. The week of New Years 2019, there were 6 homicides before January 6th. And like they said about alot of the cities this video, poverty is a big problem here as well. Causes most of the crime we have daily. In Alabama everyone knows of the reputation t Bham had for crime. It's really sad and unfortunate. Look up Anniston, Al. It's just as dangerous and an even smaller city but still ranks among the most dangerous in the state and country as well.
@@jonathanward4468 yes your right Alabama has gotten bad!! Check out Chilton County...I live here and it's like a police state cause there is so much going on in a town with a pop of less than 20'000
Been a St. Louis/St. Louis North County resident a vast majority of my life not surprised to see us on the list. The past couple of weeks the news hasn't been great and my old neighborhood I haven't gone to visit in a bit because of how high the crime/murder rate has gotten there. Though I have to say I feel a bit ashamed I was relieved we weren't number 1. I also have lived in Chicago (for a few months) and surprised to see that it somehow didn't even crack the top 20.
Because it's a fairly safe city despite what the right says.
I'm surprised that Compton, the bronx, Trenton or Phoenix didn't make the list. Detroit is definitely no1.
Yea they think drug activity is automatically dangerous
@William Summerson I would add Chicago's South Side to that list.
phoenix is safe af 😂 just overdoses
Thank you for spoiling the video. I didn't even open comments, yours was just on the top .-.
Compton isn't that bad anymore
I've lived in KCMO for my entire life and the part where I live is pretty chill, and there has been plenty of polices around but that's only because of the crimes that happens that's far away from where I live.
Yea east of Troost is a no go
KCK is chill
I lived in east KC for three years off 29th and Van Brunt. I also didn’t have a car so I got to take the bus everywhere. This ranking is well earned.
Lived in Little Rock for over 40 years. Its pretty bad. What’s worse is that I thought that was just normal living conditions for so long. You don’t realize how much of a dump a place is until you move out!
Im shocked Philly aint make this list... it had to be super close tho.
It’s not as bad clearly 🤷🏻♂️.
Why did my city make the thumbnail🤦🏾
Finally Something Interesting
And I’ll still always go to Memphis no matter what🤷🏻♂️
@Reginald Wilson I go to Memphis for St. Jude and they’re gated frfr
The fact that nyc isn't on this list warms my heart
Wow my city was not on the list Jacksonville FL.
Sooooo Chicago not in the discussion no more not Rockford we talking about actually Chicago?!??
Number 14 says Springfield Missouri but you guys added a clip from WWLP 22 News from Springfield Massachusetts 🤔 so which is it Springfield MO or Springfield MA? I only recognized the news clip because Springfield MA is my hometown😂
I'm not surprised San Bernardino was on the list
Why is my city on the thumbnail? Lol

Wow glad to see my city of Philadelphia didn't make a list for a change 💯😎
I have family in Chicago and it should have been on this list and I live in the Bay Area Stockton is ok at 10 prolly should have been higher but Oakland should have definitely been top 10

I’m from Milwaukee I use to live in pine bluff Arkansas, Battle Creek Michigan and Birmingham so i agree completely with this list
I still love my Birmingham, but being at the news desk was rough: “it bleeds it leads.”
We had all kinds of stuff go on but it had been getting better for awhile even falling off the dangerous cities for a while but as I often said, “we’re not always getting better-Detroit and Stockton are getting worse.”
As someone who was raised in Beloit, WI (10-20m from Rockford, north of Machesney Park. While also being an hour from Milwaukee) I've known people who live in these kinds of areas. It's really unfortunate that this is genuinely the reality of the situation.
I used to go to the IMAX theater and Cherryvale mall all the time. The IMAX is gone now. Cherryvale mall has armed security, and no one under 18 can enter without a guardian.
Cherryvale mall specifically I remember hearing stories of a teenager stabbing someone, and shootings on two separate occasions.
My mom always warned me to be extra weary of the west side of rockford [and i mean aside from the chaotic traffic layout lmao]
Beloit, being where its located in proximity to rockford, often sees a lot of spillover.
It's not their fault, just unfortunate
I went to the Anderson Japanese garden this past fall. Very pretty!
And I liked Cherryvale mall.

Fact: in 2012, amidst the Recession, Stockton became the largest city in the United States to file for bankruptcy protection, Detroit surpassing it a year later.

Los Angeles? You're joking right, or have you never been outside your own little hovel.
Flint, for sure, should have made the list

Detroit is a good place comparing with Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
I live in Wisconsin, and a lot of Milwaukee’s issues can be attributed to the vast economic inequality between the inner city areas and the significantly more wealthy surrounding suburban townships.
Oh cool. Lived in Indianapolis as a kid and we moved about 20min outside of Memphis when I was a teen. Man my parents liked to live dangerously huh 😬.
I worked a job that started at 5am on Beale Street and I can't deny I've seen police lights far more times than I would have ever expected to.
Which is sad, because getting to see Beale Street during like 6am when the sun is coming up, and no people are outside is a charming view.
I’m from Cleveland , it’s worse that what they are saying
I did happen to notice through all of the stats that sexual assaults we're highest in 2017 during the me too movement. Than fell in 2018 & 2019, as a survivor this troubles me, like with most trends comes the good with the bad.
In St. Louis you just got to have awareness. If it looks sketchy it’s more than likely is, downtown and north side, you could even throw in east St. Louis in there.
I like the topic
I'm surprised Missouri has 3 cities in top 20. 2 in top 10. I live in KCMO, but apparently I live in areas not plagued with violence.
I don’t live in Milwaukee, but I frequently visit. I have never seen things near as bad as what people (and these vids) say. Most crime is gang violence in certain neighborhoods. Avoid those areas, and you are perfectly fine.
That can be said about a lot of major cities honestly
Exactly! Stay out of the north/northwest side of the city and you will likely be fine. Take out those areas, and it's a relatively safe city. I suppose that's the case in most major cities, though.
Same. I love Milwaukee and wish I could move there, but work keeps me in Madison.
@@scabbarae you do not want to live in shitty Milwaukee lol

Chicago and NYC not being one of the top cities? Hows that possible?
Chicago, I'm surprised didn't make it, cuz all I've heard is how dangerous they are, I'd heard before, more than a few times, they they are considered one of the most dangerous cities, so how they didn't make the list is shocking

But, I guess it’s more so a question of how bad is that ghetto? Even if it’s only a small portion of the overall city
They're bigger cities so whatever crime they have will be a smaller amount per capita than the ones on this list. These cities have a greater proportion of crime-ridden areas within their boundaries.
NYC and Chicago ain't nowhere near as dangerous as a whole compared to these cities. I'm from Milwaukee and trust me it's way worse than those two

So surprised that Philadelphia is not on here!
I've been to Memphis Beale Street a few times my advice is keep yourself 👏🎷
Also, I’m a bit surprised New York isn’t on the list
That’s because this list measures crime rates per capita, not raw numbers.
in New Orleans, it’s not bad as long as you know where to go. The worst i’ve seen in my 22 years in places like the French Quarter and Bourbon has been theft or someone gettin beat up, but i’ve only seen the latter occur once

Thank goodness since I’ve always wanted to visit and will finally be going this July
If you ask some locals where to go for food, they’ll give you great recommendations. If you ask the locals about where to do sightseeing, they’re going to tell you to keep out of certain areas especially at night. They will also tell you to be with a group and not alone.
There are definitely muggings and carjackings going on. The recent, very sad story of Ms Frickey getting jacked and then Frickey having her arm caught in the seat belt, was dragged for blocks by the driver until her arm was ripped off. These were 4 teens - 3 girls and one guy.
I’m a native New Orleanian and I love my city but it’s got problems. If we as s human race don’t show and teach our kids tolerance, respect, ethics, and empathy, the bloodshed will grow. And the cracks in the uniquely strong culture will become chasms. The city has been through enough - it’s now feeling more like the Big Queasy than the Big Easy.
and they were black.
As someone from Missouri and lives near st Louis... I knew it was gonna be on the list xD
As a fellow Clevelander, I'm not surprised. I mean our river caught on fire
Detroit has its problem no doubt about that but we’re making a comeback downtown is beautiful, belle isle is a good time, and crime is not as bad as it used to be.
Yeppers. Detroit has turned itself around really good in the last several years. I am so proud of Detroit.
I absolutely agree with u, they are doing improvements to make it better, I have noticed
When you click on the video thinking Savannah is almost certainly make the top 5: 😞
When it doesn't even make the list: 😀
Kidding aside, I love living in Savannah, but my god, our crime rate is makes it surprising to me that we're not here.
Same with the sister city, Charleston.
I live in West Monroe La and they say it's bad including Monroe but I've been to New Orleans so many times that it feels like another home I go there for doctor appointments
I love Springfield MO, proud grad of MO State! The population is not exactly accurate via the census due to having the second biggest public university in the state (Missouri State), two private colleges that hold their own (Drury and Evangel) and the smaller colleges scattered in the town 9 months out of the year it is significantly more populated then that. Plus it does have a huge transient population due to the high amount of charity organizations and the huge elaborate old sewage tunnels under the city. It doesn't surprise me that it is on this list though, there is some rough areas there, and random acts of violent isn't unheard of with in other parts of town. Still it is a great city with tons to offer and it is in a great location. I still visit many times a year and love it everytime
Small world, I went to Drury.
But I felt trapped and bored out of my mind in Springfield.
Now living in LA, and feel like Springfield was in the past life..
No chi-town? It was called Chi-Raqu for a reason lol

No, it’s shitty here…got shoot at multiple times lol Stockton should be top 5 for sure but watch mojo always fuck up their list
Well with Nick and Nate Diaz patrolling the streets, crime is lower than it otherwise would be. They slap the stupid out of all the criminals.
Do you live in Tracy, Ca? I used to live there until 5 years ago and understand Stockton's plight, having lived 30 miles from it for 12 years.
I was just in memphis a few weeks ago
Surprised Chicago wasn't on the list
Wow, not a single Florida city? Even Miami?
They are too big, just like NYC, the size outweighs the vastness of crimes. But if you concentrate one area Of Miami or NYC, the crime rate increases exponentially. But you got areas like Miami Beach and Upper East/West Sides to even out the high crime areas. Unlike these cities on this list, the crime rates are high uniformly across all areas of the city. If you understand simple statistics and how they are measured this all makes more sense. Any city on this list that is small I.e. Anchorage has a problem with being too small of a population and should be taken with a grain of salt
@@rppiii7814 I personally been to New York city in 2017. I ended up walking to the 911 site first. I then went to central park after that. I ended up walking through times square as well. The most dangerous thing I seen was people riding the wrong way against traffic as well.
Florida is actually safe except for maybe some parts of Miami
I live in NJ, just an hour away from NYC. The crime rate in NYC is at the worst state it has been since the 1970’s and 1980’s. I’m not sure if this was caused by the pandemic or if it’s a separate issue, but either way, NYC needs to get its shit together, pronto!
You have to remember NYC has over 8 million people, so basically with that many people their numbers are going to be thinned out to a lower rate
I used to live in Baltimore City, Maryland and it wasn’t too bad in the area where I lived. But I heard that not long after I moved, that it turned into a bad area!!
Snuck in a Springfield, MA shot in that Springfield, MO part lol
Rochester, N.Y right now is like Chiraq a.k.a Chicago from a few years ago but much smaller. Rochester so bad nowadays that state police come to the city to patrol wit the city police on a daily basis. Just being around the wrong person could get u shot frfr. Y'all using 2018 data in 2022 is silly af to me but hey, I guess this list is better than no list.
I was looking for Rochester on this list. Good thing I moved years ago. I remember Eastside being crime town.
I'm shocked that Rockford made the list instead of Chicago. Chicago has it worse than Rockford. :O
NYC, LA, Miami, and Chi are chilling lol
I'm surprised that Chicago didn't make the list
*Despite the economic crisis, this is a Still a good time to invest in stock and Crypto****
The rich spend less and invest more
Investing in these economic crisis will be one of the best thing to do

I wanted to trade crypto but got confused by the fluctuation in price
I hope you all who live in these cities stay safe. Wow, how in the world did Camden, New Jersey Chicago, IL and Minneapolis, MN not make this list?
@Rockets I agree, but from late May of 2020 to now Minneapolis reputation is practically ruined after those riots caused a portion of the city to be burned down. The state of Minnesota overall had a positive reputation prior to late May of 2020. I also meant to reference Camden New Jersey which has a very bad crime rate. I'll have to re-edit my original comment.
I was just thinking of other cities that are dangerous, Portland, Oregon state and Seattle, Washington state.
YESS I'm staying in Atlanta! 🎉🎉🎉
Man I agree w Memphis I use to go there a lot for check up at st Jude’s and it’s still bad
#1 sounds accurate but I’m surprised to not see Chicago here. The downtown Area is nice but further from the city, particularly south, is quite dangerous. I feel safer taking the train there.
Hey be nice
I’m planning to coming for a vacation there. Would you say it’s a safe place to visit? Is there much crime in the daytime?
Born and raised in detroit and it is not as bad as they make it out to be. a lot of what happens is retaliation or gang related. I love it here but maybe that is just me
It's just you
Thought for sure Youngstown, OH would be on here
It seems like they're doing the big cities. Like with the population of a 100,000 or more.
I live in Springfield mass. And your video was Springfield Massachusetts. I think i can thank you cause its not the type of hometown you want on this list. I think you were talking about my town not Springfield Missouri. Route 66 does not start in my city.
