Thanks to all those pointing out that Snake Island should not have made this list, as it is off limits to officially travel there. Apologies for the error, and for the confusion you may have caused your travel agent.

Surprised the Grand Canyon wasn't on here. Just like the Cliffs of Moher, people fall off the edge every year, mostly from trying to get photographs too close to the edge.
WTF do you call an EXCLUSION zone?
An honorable mention to my mother-in-law's house. Dangerous place.
Good one bro
Good one.
Good one, the old reliable mother in law.
😂😂😂👍👍👍
It be that sometimes
I go to Yellowstone all the time. If you follow the guidelines and rules you will be safe and just fine. It’s the tourists who wander off the marked trails and try to get selfies with wild animals who are the dumb ones.
Natural selection at work
I've worked in Yellowstone for three summers and it just amazes me what some tourists get up to. They seem to think we're in a zoo and that the animals are tame. A lot of tourists have asked me about the geysers and when they can watch the "water shows." One girl even asked me if the geysers were natural or human made. When I told her they were natural, she turned to her friend and said, "Looks like I lost the bet."
Yellowstone is a beautiful place, but you have to remember, we're invading the animals' home. We have to watch out for them, because if we annoy them, they will attack.
@@elizabethjanemorgan3607 Exactly! Gotta have respect for nature. We had a Ranger tell us one time that a tourist asked where the animals sleep at night. The tourist thought they were all gathered up to sleep every night in a barn 🤦🏻♀️
'Murica
@@tobythomas3413 😆 oh my
Snake island shouldt be in this list. Its not a tourist destination.
If foreigners want to explore it and government is OK with it and can profit from it, it's a tourist attraction.
@@shadowgirl617 Huh? People are banned from that island unless they’re scientists or the Brazilian government, no tourist has ever been to that island
We are full-time travelers with a toy hauler. People often ask us what is the most dangerous road we have been on. My answer is Always "Any Road in The Sierra Nevada Mountain Range".... lol.
I'm from Nepal, I'm kinda proud that everest is in the list.
I’ll just put it out there: Australia
I'm curious, what's so dangerous about it?
@@kevindagame Australia is home to some of the most venemous snakes spiders, jellyfish and other marine life on the planet. Sharks and crocs are another threat to the unwary tourist. Drownings in the surf are also sadly common. Getting lost in the Australian wilderness is also a thing….
I've been to Yellowstone every year since I was born, so I grew up going there. I've noticed that there have been safety rails added to more of the boardwalks over the years. While some hiking trails can cause heat stroke to those who aren't prepared, if you follow the rules and don't approach the animals, the only real dangers are getting lost in crowds or the bathrooms (they smell horrible).
But really please don't get to close to the animals, you're just asking to get hurt.
The times that you’ve gone was there anyone who were getting lose to them?
IF you follow the rules, but this is "Murica, Land of I do whut I want.
1. The outback
Spent 3 nights on Mt Washington after being pinned down by 90mph gusts and blizzard whiteout conditions…in August. Wind finally dropped to 45 mph as the storm let up (the windchill was still below zero) and I was able to descend. It was 75° and sunny at the bottom. The Whites are no joke. Be prepared and always carry extra food and the appropriate bad weather gear.
It’s astonishing that the Grand Canyon wasn’t included. It has a shot at being #1.
Everest is so deadly that there’s an area on the mountain called “Rainbow Valley” it’s called that because of the coloured jackets and climbing gear attached to the frozen corpses littered along the hillside
ouf
As a NH resident I never tire or seeing MT Washington on a clear blue day in the winter. Hiked it 4 times in the past. Twice in summer. Twice in Winter.
The most dangerous place ive been to was a portapotty at a rock festival scary shit
The Australian Out Back should be on this list
Sumatra is a very large Island, and for most of the time its fairly safe place to go exploring. The disasters are a rare occasions. When going to Indonesia, they should consider visiting Sumatra instead of only Bali, because of the richness of its cultures and so many tourist destinations.
Been to two of these. The Devils Pool is incredible! Just go with a licensed guide and follow their instructions to a tee and you'll be fine. Chernobyl, also incredible to visit. There are a few no go zones but most of Pripyat is safe to explore.
If you’re not bombed by the Russians that is..
Now I want to visit all these places. Thanks Watchmojo.
We live in New Hampshire and Mt. Washington is a beautiful place. On a clear day, which is rare, you can see 4 different states & Canada plus the Atlantic Ocean. There are 3 ways to get to the top: drive (the road is narrow & there are no guardrails) or; take the cog railway ( fun, but nerve inducing); and climbing ( my younger son has done it, but it's not for me!). An incredible place with a beautiful view from the top!
I’m been to north sentinel island once. Never again, rudest group of people I’ve ever come across
Madidi is perfectly safe. I’m pretty sure any large tropical forest could be considered dangerous if you were to get lost without a guide. But as a destination experienced by tourists, always accompanied by a guide and staying at a purpose-built lodge, designed for safety and comfort, it really is a very safe place and the risks are very low.
2:30 Shout out to this one guy getting chased by a bison
I live in Nevada and been to Death Valley. During the summer, the temperatures reach 130 easily. Here in Las Vegas, it easily reaches 125 for a couple of days in the summer.
Colca Valley is one of the most beautiful destinations in Peru but lots of tourists have disappeared there due to not following the rules given by the tour guides. The valley is huge and if you go out from the trail you'll get lost and not be found
Lake Havasu City on The Colorado River has a beach named "Body Beach".... It is the spot where all the drowned victims from up river wash ashore.....
Top 20 most dangerous destinations.
Looks at the duration of video- 20:20
Traumatized flashback to 2020.
OMG lol, no way... haha well that was not intentional! Good eyes Jimothy!
I can see it so clearly
I've been on the Colorado River during a trip to the Grand Canyon, Brice Canyon and Zion National Park, followed by a Cirque de Soleil show in Las Vegas. We must have been on the calmer part of the river, never felt in danger, though my brother almost collapsed due to heat when we were off the raft.
That Bison chasing that tourist was hilarious 😂😂😂 sorry 😆
I climbed Mt. Washington with some fellow Canadian Soldiers.
It was challenging to say the least. A great experience with beautiful scenery and a bit of an adventure around every corner.
It was nice reading the big sign at the beginning of the climb, about how many people have died over the years on the climb that you are about to make.
That’s when you know that you better have your head on straight or it may not turn out well for you.
Cheers. 🇨🇦
Me just vibing. "New Smyrna" *slight panic BC I used to go there a lot as a kid*
Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia Canada could have been on this list. It’s a national tourist attraction of a lighthouse on a rock outcrop jutting into the Atlantic Ocean and tourists every year walk out on the rocks where it’s not safe and slippery, and get swept into the water where the waves bash them against the rocks and pull them under. Many people die, oftentimes a few a year, but thousands of tourists continue to visit each day.
All the beauty in the world comes at a price.
Outback Australia can be quite a challenge nearly half of it is desert little water huge distances to travel [about 10.000 ks ] a lot of it dirt roads with some of the most deadliest animals on the planet and temperatures well over 50 celsious
I’ve been to Yellowstone twice, most recently this past July
My bucket list k2 karakorum highway everest
When younger I drove from SF to NYC - I was in Death Valley in July. It was deserted - didn't see anyone for days. Perfect :-) I've also got a lovely photo of me sitting atop of Half Dome.
Kind of surprised the Grand Canyon didn't make the list.
My family and I went to South America in 2019-2020 (Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile). I was surprised to find that in terms of major cities, we actually felt the most safe in Rio when compared to Santiago, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo. We also don't speak Portuguese fluently and we're more a-custom to Spanish so it was a surprise to find how safe we felt.
Río is a dump, but Buenos Aires was much safer.
Beautiful ☺ dangers‼️
Great... I'm going to the Cliffs of Moher with my husband's family in June...
It's perfectly safe if you don't go beyond the the allowed areas. Don't stand on an unstable cliff edge, you'll be fine
I do not like the Imax Theater in Seattle WA. I've been to it more than a couple times, but each time it messed with my eyes so much I'd lose my lunch. The ONLY time I didn't have my lunch doing re-runs was during a trip with some friends where we watched "Into Thin Air". While the spiraling rope scene almost did it to me, I survived. The little one traveling with us though lost his toddlercrap during the avalanche scene. We were sitting pretty close to the front and the snow tsunami coming right at the screen just terrified the poor little bugger.
13 - Lake Natron - it actually is so alkaline that stones calcify around flamingos feet which can paralyse them and cause them to die.
I’ve been to the Amazon. Go in with a guide most definitely it is arguably the most incredible place on earth all danger aside it is absolutely worth visiting don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Went white water rafting in the Colorado river and it wasn't that bad! Just go on the lighter part of the river and have a wet suit and life preserver and a river guide
People tend to underestimate how dangerous these locations can be
I had the same experience on the Colorado river as Jeremy.
Now I’m thinking about this
“ Jeff Propes why was it a good idea to go in the Amazon forest for season 6 when it’s one of the most dangerous Tourist destinations”
How could the Undertaker survive if he's from Death Valley? 😆
🔥🔥🔥
Surprisingly, I'm expecting The Philippines to be on the list.
Wow
You forgot the people at Yellowstone thinking that bison are cuddly cows. I think they are 4-0 this year.
111: Never been to any of those places. I would hate to get a near death experience if I was ever in any of those places
After growing up on a stock farm, I can tell you that bulls are easily angered, and fiercely territorial. I had a lot of run ins with our bulls, and was even a bull rider when I was a teenager. Even after all that I always wanted to go to Spain just so I could do the running of the bulls. Sadly, I'm now in a wheelchair due to advanced muscular dystrophy, so that dream is no longer a reality. I could run with the chickens if anyone ever wants to make that a thing. Maybe sheep, but most likely just the chickens.
112: I have been in a ghost town before when I was a kid. It was in Bisbee. Before I went to bed, I heard a voice saying hello and I slept through the loud noises coming from the kitchen
Ok, so … there are 3 brazilian destinations that we must avoid… oh no, I am brazilian, I am doomed!!! Ok, sorry about this joke! Nice lost guys, excelent job! Love ya!!! ❤️🤟🏻
I didn’t find Rio very dangerous, but I travel a lot and I’m not stupid enough to wave an iPhone around 😅
If I was ever crazy enough to try climbing Everest, I might be able to make it 10' out of base camp before died. I loved hiking as a kid, but climbing a mountain is not on my bucket list. Especially Everest.
Why are they showing a reel of a curb and sidewalk at 12:05? 😂
As a teenager and my 20 I was indestructible . I would climb or ski anything I had no fear Im now v69 and I've grown up I realize if I get into difficulty I risk the lives of a whole team of rescuers and that is just not on
Mount Washington is Dante's inferno's version of hell.
So, I'm just going to stay in my bedroom forever and watch Mojo
I grew in San Diego and when I was between the ages of 20-30 and never thought Tijuana was dangerous…we knew to stay on the main roads - don’t get into any unmarked cabs…don’t cause trouble…you DID not want to catch the attention of the TJ police. That was during the 90’s! Now there is NO WAY I’d go there now!
If anything it was worse then. TJ has come a long way, and I’m sure there’s still a vibrant night life. Problem is alcohol and drugs, people act stupid when they’re down there and that’s where the issues come from
Chernobyl was April 1986
Good ol Tj.
The way he says cliffs of moher 🤣🤣
Snake island always scared me. I’m not afraid of snakes, but that is a lot of snakes lol I’d rather get chased my a bison that kid was fast 😂
I was bitten by a damn flamingo at the zoo a few years ago. They offered a place that you could give the flamingos food, like a petting zoo type of thing. I was letting one eat out of my hand, and the bastard bit me. I honestly don't remember which zoo it was at, but of the ones I've been to, it had to be either the San Diego zoo or St Louis zoo.
Damn…what a story. Good to know the next time I think about feeding any type of pink bird that stands on one leg while it sleeps
Wonder where New York lands in this list.
The thumbnail is from The Fugitive. Lol
I totally respect what you all are doing here but I but I have been to the top of Mount Washington numerous and I am not fit at all. You simply drive to the top or take a bus or snowcat.. It's only dangerous if you're foolish enough to try to ski down from the top during the Winter time. However on the way down if you do not take time to stop and cool your brakes you can definitely find yourself in harm's way.. It's a beautiful spot and I Highly recommended. Another fun part would be taking The Cog Railway to the top
Going a pizza restaurant in Venice and asking for a Hawaiian pizza. 🍕😆
Hey WatchMojo, how about you go metric?
The most dangerous location i've been to is maho beach during the last days of the quad jets and i got it on gopro.
I'm pretty sure Snake island doesn't fall into the tourist spot destination if only government officials and scientists are allowed there.
I looked up deaths in Yellowstone after visiting and nobody has died there since 2016. People do not die every single year in Yellowstone.
Yellowstone is also a supervolcano.
A journalist here in Norway, who has been all over the world visiting conflict zones and dangerous tourist destinations, was asked where the most terrible place he ever visited was. California was the answer.
Selfie Cliffs
How about adding New York City (485 homicides in 2021) and Detroit (309 Homicides in 2021) to the list?
The main problem in Death Valley is Europeans from Vegas. If you are from Europe understand that American hiking is nothing like European hiking. You are on your own, it is your job to prepare for every possibility, you will not see others on the trail who can help you and you will die if you don't pay attention to the time of day..
The endless mispronunciations lol “cliffs of ma-her”
Seriously, although you may not think London is dangerous, as a Londoner, I need to warn tourists who are walking, to remember which side of the road we British drive on and be particularly careful, when crossing small side roads in Central London, in places like the Strand and Oxford Street. ❤️
Why warn them? Let them work it out for themselves with the big words on the road that say “LOOK RIGHT”
The great walls of China is top one for me
I love this channel. But does a formation called "Half Dome" really need an explanation?
Do top superhero rogues gallery
I wish I visit number 1
Can we do this list again but with all U.S tourist sites
It's not "Cliffs of Ma-her". It's "Cliffs of more"
Its the cliffs of moher (pronounced moe-her)
For my personel experience,Rio De Janeiro takes the Cake.
Its Simple unbelivable, man,Its a real Warzone, everyday and night of the week.
That' s so sad.
In South Dakota We don't have much dangerous Tourist destinations
The Badlands can be dangerous.
8:35 wait are those people in the debris???
Well snap. I’ve done 7 of these. Maybe time to punk the brakes lol
This music don't fit the clips.
Chernobyl and Pripyat are on my bucket list since I played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. And that one mission in COD 4. Imagine playing airsoft there with 19 other people or just walking through town.
When was # 2 & did he actually do the 15 years & then went back to US
Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York should be on the list
San Francisco is not that unsafe. You might get your car broken into, but it's not dangerous.
WatchMojo casually showing a bunch of bodies at 8:35 ....
Honestly I’ve been to North Korea and I didn’t find there to be dangerous, if you follow the tourist guided group and don’t go anywhere alone you’ll be just fine. But comparing to Tijuana and Rio, I wonder why Johannesburg or Cape Town are not on this list?
Mynamar/Burma???? I seen Rambo!
Death valley, undertaker place
Never been to any of them. I’ve been through getting yelled at, being bullied, getting homework done and going through a personal woman thing
