99 percent is amazing! I doubt that you receive that much agreement on some of the more ... questionable Iceland products.
The key point here - probably the only point, tbh - is that you're feeling happier, you feel better about your family life and that other people recognise that parts of their journey mirror yours, so that they feel less alone in dealing with their issues.
I appreciate what you're doing there, and I can see the benefits it's bringing you and your family.

But if the entire channel were to turn into a string of adverts for Prohibition ... I might be slightly less inclined to watch!

Respect for giving up the alcohol. I drink, I'm actually a homebrewer and amateur beer historian, but I doff my cap to those who have had enough. That said, I've cut down massively on how much I drink. Drinking is fine if controlled. Also please don't stop going in pubs and supporting your local. Pubs are shutting at an increasing rate around the country for many reasons. Landlords and Landladies work long hours to provide us with companionship and entertainment. They are a cornerstone to many communities and part of British culture. Many pubs will have a darts team or a pool team you can join, quiz nights, karaoke and band nights and they need patronage to survive.
Pubs don't only sell alcohol, they also serve tea, coffee and soft drinks. 0% beers and wines are available in some and its growing. Please continue to support the pubs or we will lose them.

Yes man!! Keep it up mate, I’ve had to stop drinking alcohol because I’ve got coronary heart disease and had 4 stents fitted so far with two more ops to come!. I was one of them that once you get a taste, you can’t stop until you’re smashed. I’ve stopped smoking for nearly a year and because of multiple medications ranging from heart stuff to mental health stuff, I’m not allowed to go anywhere near booze. Funnily enough though, I’ve had to cut down on sugar, that has been the HARDEST vice I’ve experienced ever!. Done though!. I know I’ve gone on but you do inspire loads of different drugs I.e Alcohol etc. Love ya Gaz!. Joel.

Yes keep doing the videos it’s bound to inspire others to try to give up, if some fail which will happen you just have to give it another go, never give up giving up. I have never had a problem with drink but have smoked since I was about 15 years old, I am now 71, and I finally gave up and haven’t had a cigarette for about 7 months. It’s one of the hardest things I’ve done. I would think the thought of missing the drink/cigarette is about the same, and never too far far away, it’s just about setting small goals to get to. Good luck to anyone who is trying to give up something.

I bet when you started to open up about your problem you had no idea that could inspire others to take the challenge. Having your neighbour come and share with you he too has stopped drinking, is all the encouragement you need to do the "Stop Drinking"videos. So, please ignore the moaning comments, they have a choice, DON'T WATCH" 👍

Early in my sobriety, a small percentage of people in recovery said things to me that I didn't like, and it felt personal. What I now know, is that small percentage wanted to see me get well, and begin the process of amending relationships, build trust, and in general, just start "showing up" in every aspect of my life.
I'm not sure if I am a part of the 1% or not, but I guarantee you Gareth, we want to see you succeed! Not so much for the videos, but for YOU, your family, friends, business associates, etc. The English clergyman and poet, John Donne wrote "any mans death diminishes me". ("No man is an island")

You’ve helped to inspire me to quite drinking. I’ve gone from being stuck in a vicious circle
drinking every evening out of habit to being exactly 1 month sober today. I found it hard for the first week but now I don’t think about it, I feel a lot happier now I’ve stopped drinking and it’s also made me realise that 1 I don’t need alcohol and 2 how much of a waste of money it is.

Hi Gareth as you very well no you always get negative arse holes , but you have inspired others to give up that demon drink up. So in my book you are doing a good thing. Yes i was a bindge drinker for more years than i care to remember thankfully come this January it will be three years being sober, Now drink doesn't bother me at all. Do keep up the good work you are doing Gareth. All the very best Tim 😊

Mate ignore the knobs. I've joined you on the journey since you said you were off the sauce and loads more of us are with you too. Those who snipe can get absolutely f****ed. My old man was a heavy drinker and it destroyed any relationship I could have had with him as I grew up. Now I am older and have my own kids I would sit down and talk to him but he has been in the ground 22 years now and its too late for us.
Keep the videos coming of ALL kinds - I also enjoy seeing what rare delicacies you find to eat so i dont have to🤣

Well done Gareth. It must be good seeing someone face to face, hearing them talk to you.
1% of negative people don’t matter. We will always get them.
Please keep us updated on your progress. I enjoy your food videos. But these updates are important as you can see. You’re helping yourself and others by supporting and encouraging each other. That’s all that matters. ❤

Your videos are inspirational to many people, I'm sure of that. I drink unhealthily - and I am following your videos as an inspiration to finally quit. But, that said, do not feel any 'obligation' or 'pressure' from your audience. You do what you need to do - and we will all support you - if you do have a wobble or two - then you get back on the wagon and carry on - we'll all be behind you. x

I've been watching your videos for a while now. And I was quite shocked to hear that you have struggled with alcohol issues. I never would have guessed. Not at all! I've been an alcoholic for about 5 years now. Really bad with it. But it's been two years since I actually realised that it was an issue. It takes a lot of strength to talk about it the way you do. I love the videos about your sober journey even more than your food reviews. You're proving to me that it 'is' possible to change for the better. To live a better life. Keep going mate! Thank you for inspiring me to do the right thing! ❤
