    Subbed :) But here is a tip that will save you fish in the future - don't drip acclimate them. When fish are shipped in those types of bags, once you open and allow fresh oxygen to go in there the pH and such changes drastically almost immediately and in turn ammonia will suddenly rise and become toxic in a very, very short time. Drip is fine for those that aren't shipped and are very pH and GH sensitive and you have yours set a certain way vs the store. But when having them shipped, that water becomes toxic almost immediately once the bag is opened. Why all the big names of the industry you see in their videos acclimate to temp and then plop them in as it's easier for them to adjust to pH than to risk survival of the toxic ammonia. Good luck!
    Oh, and my Leopard Bushfish is my favorite out of my 21 tanks too lol

      So good to see another Ctenopoma fan! XD But yeah what you were saying does actually make some sense now that i think about it. Thanks for the tip friend i will look some more into it. i'm interested in that now. No one has ever bothered to mention that since i've been in the trade. But the idea of what your are saying does make sense. Thank you for your insight. M. Yates. :)

      You're welcome. I don't know much about the science behind it, but something I've learned and I've never drip acclimated a fish in 26 years and never lost a fish from it. Temp acclimate and plop. Now, like I said, if they are more sensitive fish or some such, then you can try to counteract it by putting in 2 - 3x conditioner into the water they are in, that may help it a lot. But if you follow others like Rachel O'Leary and Ken, etc, they recommend not to drip if the fish is shipped.

    Hi is that congo tetra naturally blue I never saw them in that color before?

    • @phantomaquarist3417
      @phantomaquarist3417  3 года назад +1

      Some Congo tetras do have natural blue hues. I think because I had LED lighting to help with plant growth in the tank It was maybe over dramatizing it more.

    No need to drip acclimate them. 15 minutes in the tank in the bag is all you need.

      No prob. Was the shipping cost high? I wamt to order fish offline but the shipping is more than the fish itself.

    • @phantomaquarist3417
      @phantomaquarist3417  7 лет назад

      That's my bad i forgot to mention the price in the video. Orders over $45 are free shipping. their site doesn't really say if thats a limited time or all the time tho. And without the free shipping its $15. At least thats what it was for me. So insanely cheap shipping. Im use to always seeing shipping at $45 and up for these online companies even on Ebay
