Another great video, thanks for taking the time to put this together. I'll probably be a tailor on my priest, mage and warlock...I might have way to many alts 😅
@@AmmeTV1 Yeah, I kept tailoring throughout TBC for this reason alone. Admittedly, I only know this worked in the original TBC, no idea if it will work this way for TBC classic. I'm hoping though :)

Given the cost of crafted pieces and the likely short P1 due to how easy all the content will be, I agree with you that Spellstrike probably isn't going to be worth crafting for a mage. I'm definitely making 3pc Spellfire though!
My man cod the creator!! I think that’s a super good call! It’s super weird, the mage discord is like, low-key against spellfire but I think it’s the right call to craft it
For healers, you have to look at all the crafting options, not just tailoring. Druid, Shaman, and Paladin can wear armor other than cloth, and leatherworking has a really good healer set as well, Windhawk, in addition to drums which can be haste or regen. I have crafted gear comparisons pinned in all the classic TBC discords for healers and have discussed how people are feeling on professions. Here is where I see each group: Priest: PMC only, no WM. Replace with T5 Druid: Mixed opinion on LW or Tailoring, slight lean to LW. Replace either with T5. Shaman: Very little support for tailoring, basically everyone is going LW. Replace with T5. Paladin: Some leaning to T4, more going LW, a rare tailor here or there. Replace with T5.
Oh 100%, damn I should've talked about that more! I was so focused on keeping a video this big as short as I could that I forgot to mention that it's a rare BoP tailoring drop in dungeons too, so it's going to be VERY expensive at the start of the game.
Indeed, although, just like the meta socket tooltip mistake, the BoE tooltip might also be a mistake, on Blizzard's part. We just have to wait and see.
@@DraGonnTheAkadian Oh they were BoE back in the day as well! The "offsets" (Spellstrike/Whitemend) were BoE while the main ones were BoP and required you to have the tailoring specialization to wear them. You'd see Spellstrike and Whitemend on the AH frequently haha
Oh, don't remember that at all. Didn't use to raid in OG TBC so wasn't really into min-maxing and itemization, but yeah, the AH is going to go bananas with all the BoE's from tailoring.
Sorry, for Warlocks shadoweave shoudlers and chest are replaced with T4 Cheast and shoulders in T4(phase1). You could also do T4 shoulders/gloves too depening how lucky/unlucky u are with glove drops. Also what kind of person uses t4 > spellstrike it doesent even math out even with the meta, which will obv not be in from launch as wep changes and engineering helms etc are now confirmed not in, why would blizz treat jewcrafting differently?
This was honestly a the biggest hang up of mine and even in the warlock discord there’s tons of conflicting opinions, so I defaulted to saying shadoweave can last longer. Also that gem is interesting because it’s not sold by a vendor, it’s a drop from a mob and it was dropping in the beta so it’s hard to say for certain that it won’t be in the game
Oh and the math with the helm is the two-piece T4 with the meta while still using shadoweave. But yeah, there’s lots of theorycrafting for this one so I gave the theorycraft of the meta but also said spellstrike can be used for a long time :)
@@AmmeTV1 What alot of people dont factor in with the 2p bonus on T4 is the fact that it has no GCD. it sucks to go shadoweave as a lock and only use it for the boots : D But perfect prebis is this : (. Its fun to see alot of this niche info that people will be finding out in there own time, as for the spellstrike it also has quite a imapctfull uptime but the raw stats hit/crit with gem sockets make them such amazing stat items. For me I did TBC back in the day in a world top guild and after that played on around 4 private TBC servers. Some servers got it GCD right with 2p others did not.
As a warlock main and a min maxer at heart my opinion is that if you are going shadow destro only the spellstrike set and frozen shadowweave boots are worth the cost. The rest of the frozen shadowweave will be replaced by T4 in the intro raids and definitely not worth it. I will not be investing into it.
For some people it could be crazy to go for the set! Haha all just depends on how you want to play the game, with one of the best arguments i've seen being that people enjoy character progression and replacing gear. You don't get that as much with PMC. At the end of the day, content is gonna go down regardless of if you have PMC or not.
@@AmmeTV1 That's true. The progression is is definitely a real thing. IMO the PMC is just the flat out best option and isn't really that difficult to obtain. 5% mana regen is a very solid option. If professions aren't your cup of tea I totally get it and don't think you should have to do it. If you're looking for the best obtainable gear in phase 1, PMC is second to none.
@@tomcarlson3441 Oh 100%, like me personally, I'm gonna craft all the gear I can get, I'm just a big advocate for fighting the meta going into TBC if that's what people want to do haha
I like the video but I am a fire destro lock so I dont know when the gloves or belt will be replaced. I know we are less common but we are viable and even ahead of shadow early tbc.
That's only if you need the hit, hit capped, frozen shadoweave is far better and from the warlocks I've talked to, they get hit cap and then wear these late into T6
Some things are not quite right. For Warlock Frozen Shadoweave Shoulders and Chest can already be replaced with the respective T4 pieces, not just T5, so it's really just the boots that age well at all. Also with the recent blue post about item phasing, the chaotic skyfire meta gem should not be in the game during T5, so then indeed Spellstrike would last you into T6.
With the gem I didn't want to completely count it out, since it's a drop and not sold from vendors, but that's why I gave both options as like a "hey, if it's in, go with this, if not, it lasts until P6" and then with the T4, it all just depends on which two pieces you wear for the T4 so I wanted to let people know that the frozen shadoweave is totally viable into T5
That is a tough question, it’s so hard to guess because all we can do is speculate what the economy will be like with how much gold people will be bringing over. It’s gonna be pretty volatile, with week 1 being absurd prices and dropping fast. The best opinion I can give is wait a couple of weeks before buying anything, because it’s going to be through the roof early on
I don't know what the best path is anymore, but the tailoring guide I used back in the day required 3000 netherweave to level to 375. Yes, you will hate cloth.
Yeah we’re in a really interesting time in the game where if you want, you can use runecloth all the way up to like 330 or something if you want to. It takes a huge amount of runecloth which isn’t “ideal” for going from 1 straight to 375, but if you want to stock up now you can substantially reduce the amount of Netherweave you have to use by crafting those green runecloth recipes
@@AmmeTV1 Yup, gonna be levelling some alts in the pre-patch when the xp nerf comes in, probably 2 tailoring and transmute alts. I never really cared for gold farming in classic but knowing how much I'm gonna need in bc, it'll definitely help.

First I have heard about nets. This video is a win right out of the gate. Way to do your homework! So everyone is aware smite priests will replace even spellstrike with T4.
should i bother with tailoring if i only plan on pvping? seems like it would be a waste to pour that gold and effort for non resilience pieces even if they have insane stats or is it that big of a damage upgrade to where its worth it to use over pvp gear?
Thanks for the video! I did have a quick question.... Is the shadowgear worth it, if i'm only doing PVP in TBC? Not sure, idk how fast i'd be replacing it?
Of course man! If you're doing PvP, you 100% just want to rush for the PvP sets, resilience is key. It's more "how can I die slower" rather than "how much damage can I do" in PvP :) So in my opinion, not worth it
Spellfire is still super up in the air. I was going through the druid discord a ton and one day they’re all “SPELLFIRE IS THE BEST” and the next is like “it’s not worth at all” hahaha that one is hard to say until we actually get into the game because it’s based on how viable wrath spamming will be mixed with kill times
Great informative video! Looking forward to the lw one. I'm going to play moonkin and I'm not sure wether I want to go leatherworking for the windhawk set (cba to play with drums)
Yeah! So the reason I didn't is because as far as I know (I could be wrong) fire is strong T4 and a little into T5 and then warlocks switch Shadow, so I figured the people sweat enough to go fire AND shadow and craft BOTH sets would already do it anyway haha if that makes any sense
@@AmmeTV1 that mentality is what creates mediocre boomies. just because you have utility doesnt mean you earn slack in gear or dps. no reason to lower the standard... you can be pushing higher dps than a warlock crafting spellfire 3 set and spellstrike 2 set in any low duration fight you dont need to worry about mana as much so stats become less of a priority. you also gain more from stacking spell power early than crit. arguably t4 helm meta gem alone is worth more to your starfire crits than the low duration of spellstrike proc, but it also has no internal gcd meaning all your application of dots and FF can give you the spell damage proc.
I can craft spellcloth in any place in netherstorm? I mean i leveled up 5x lv50 tailor alts to only craft theese so i hope i dont need to travel 2much xD
Aldor for min max! The shoulder enchant is better for us. Scryers you’re able to get the spell thread tailoring recipe and the hit trinket but the shoulder enchant isn’t as good. Overall I would pick Aldor
100%! I mention selling the cooldowns in there right? It’s been a couple of weeks but I remember making a meme about it with some yelling WTS cloth cooldown haha
@@stevenjam7119 oh good! I was like... did I not even mention that?! But 100%, tailoring will be great gold making, especially early 🙂 it will fall off somewhat fast and professions like Alchemy and Jewelcrafting will be more profitable in the long run
They're both super good, the main question you have to answer is how much do you value having "BiS" in T5 progression with the spellstrike, but yes, the shadoweave set is hands down worth and kind of an up to you call on the spellstrike. It's BiS into phase 5 no question, but you could get away with going with even T4
I was actually going to do a 60 minute exposé on how amazing drums are for my next video... Totally kidding haha I 100% plan on doing this for leatherworkers as well!
@@AmmeTV1 Their newest blue post states "Outland faction vendors will initially sell the items that they originally sold, and their offerings will update as content unlocks. Examples: the Swift Skyfire Diamond gem recipe from the Consortium, the Mysterious ammo from Karazhan, and PvP gear from all factions." Which would mean that the design isn't in the game at the start.
I have that assumption based on their statement "Outland faction vendors will initially sell the items that they originally sold, and their offerings will update as content unlocks." Phase 4 for the drop?
Yeah I honestly do too, I just didn’t want to completely assume and then it turns out to be in haha like in my daily quest guide, somebody pointed out that the daily quest givers weren’t in the beta and that they didn’t come til phase 3 but I wanted to put them in anyway just in case, and now they announced that they’re in haha luckily I gave both options like with locks, good if it’s in, go this way if it’s not :)
Meh I'm 70 frost mage in 1/2 blues doing 800 dps there full epic doing 900 dps .. that grind not worth it to me imo I don't care if I'm top dps as long mid pack not holding back raid clearing content
You do need tailoring for the set bonus though! Which is what makes it so good for so long ☺️ without the bonus, the pants are good in some cases but it loses a ton of its value
It is an interesting concept, because T5 came with launch back in the day so it did make a little more sense. I don’t think it quite needs a nerf because T4 is easy enough already. I kind of address that in the video, I really only base my decision to craft these on T5 anyway

I was going through the druid discord a ton and one day they’re all “SPELLFIRE IS THE BEST” and the next is like “it’s not worth at all” hahaha that one is hard to say until we actually get into the game because it’s based on how viable wrath spamming will be mixed with kill times
@@AmmeTV1 go to Keftenk Discord. He order all Informations about TBC Beta to Build Simcraft for Balance druid.
Great informative video! Looking forward to the lw one. I'm going to play moonkin and I'm not sure wether I want to go leatherworking for the windhawk set (cba to play with drums)
Thanks man!! Hopefully will be out this weekend ☺️ and that wind hawk set will be looked at a ton in it!
You didn't mention if Spellfire set is any good for Fire Warlocks.
Yeah! So the reason I didn't is because as far as I know (I could be wrong) fire is strong T4 and a little into T5 and then warlocks switch Shadow, so I figured the people sweat enough to go fire AND shadow and craft BOTH sets would already do it anyway haha if that makes any sense
"Crit chicken who cares wear what you want" lmao
;)
@@okyki oh dude, it was 100% a joke LOL
My main is shadowpriest also
Aaayyyyy, shadow priest brotherhood!
I can craft spellcloth in any place in netherstorm? I mean i leveled up 5x lv50 tailor alts to only craft theese so i hope i dont need to travel 2much xD
Yessir! You just have to be in the zone ☺️
So tailoring alts will need to be level 58 since they'll need to go to Outland?
Yep! Level 60 to craft the cloths if I'm not mistaken
Hey I’m also a SP should I got aldor or scryer
Aldor for min max! The shoulder enchant is better for us. Scryers you’re able to get the spell thread tailoring recipe and the hit trinket but the shoulder enchant isn’t as good. Overall I would pick Aldor
How much better is the PMC/WM stuff versus full T3 for a holy priest?
Significantly, all of this stuff blows T3 out of the water
@@AmmeTV1 thanks!
No problem!
Wouldnt tailoring selling tansmutes and leg enchants plus enchanting be godly gold making
100%! I mention selling the cooldowns in there right? It’s been a couple of weeks but I remember making a meme about it with some yelling WTS cloth cooldown haha
@@AmmeTV1 yea u did!
@@stevenjam7119 oh good! I was like... did I not even mention that?! But 100%, tailoring will be great gold making, especially early 🙂 it will fall off somewhat fast and professions like Alchemy and Jewelcrafting will be more profitable in the long run
So from watching this you'd say for a Shadow Priest the Shadoweave set is well worth it but not the Spellstrike set so much?
They're both super good, the main question you have to answer is how much do you value having "BiS" in T5 progression with the spellstrike, but yes, the shadoweave set is hands down worth and kind of an up to you call on the spellstrike. It's BiS into phase 5 no question, but you could get away with going with even T4
nice video
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Is selling a cloth cool down really possibly 500g? That would be so sexy lit and I would go tailoring on all my chars for the first phase for sure
Oh I was just memeing with the price haha but it should be very lucrative those first couple of weeks! ESPECIALLY the first couple of days
Please make a jewelcrafting video!
Already about halfway done with the script 😉
I will play shadow and tailoring is the way for me
100%! Cant wait to get those boots, those things are so stupid good
Will be the Caotic Skyfire Diamond be in P1?
Honestly? Probs not, but I wanted to put the info in in case it was so people were aware of it ☺️
Excellent work. Can you do one like this for Leatherworking gear? And I don't care about those stupid drums -delete those from the game btw.
I was actually going to do a 60 minute exposé on how amazing drums are for my next video... Totally kidding haha I 100% plan on doing this for leatherworkers as well!
What about frost mages??
They don’t really exist in PvE so I didn’t talk about them haha
So is frost mage just ignore in TBC?
In PvE, prreetttyyy much, you may see a couple but fire and arcane are just far and away better. TONS in PvP though!
Didn't mention frost in mage...
I did it on purpose so that mages don’t even think about going frost in raid hahahaha
Uh.. Doesn't spellstrike hood have a meta gem in it?
It doesn't! One of the biggest downfalls of Spellstrike and Whitemend. If it did, it'd be BiS for a VERY long time
the increased crit dmg gems is not going to be available for the first 2 phases my man...
Do you have a source for that? I’m actually really curious about that! I talk about it more in the warlock section but I take it into account.
@@TheSimonlyn But that's the thing, it's not a purchased recipe, it drops from a mob in SMV and was confirmed to drop in the beta
Highly doubt chaotic will be in at launch
We’ll see! Just wanted to put it in as an option ☺️
🤘
Rock on man! Glad you liked it!
Meh I'm 70 frost mage in 1/2 blues doing 800 dps there full epic doing 900 dps .. that grind not worth it to me imo I don't care if I'm top dps as long mid pack not holding back raid clearing content
Anyone else keep hearing the "White Man" set... lol
Wait... I don’t know what this is 😂
Spell strike is BOE, not BOP...You do not need to go tailoring.
You do need tailoring for the set bonus though! Which is what makes it so good for so long ☺️ without the bonus, the pants are good in some cases but it loses a ton of its value
these sets 100% need nerfed
Oooooo, hot take!! I haven’t heard this take before, what makes you think so?
@@AmmeTV1 because it's on pat to t5, yet you get it early t4?
It is an interesting concept, because T5 came with launch back in the day so it did make a little more sense. I don’t think it quite needs a nerf because T4 is easy enough already. I kind of address that in the video, I really only base my decision to craft these on T5 anyway
