True your armor and health are high enough to offset it most of the time, but as above they don't scale in line with the raid tiers. Net, you're going to get weaker each tier. This is reflected in pvp as well. After S1 resilience will be stacked high enough for you to be unable to burst people out, at which point it gets much much harder to succeed in pvp. Yes you still have cyclone but mana costs for shifting have only gone down, not gone away, and you really can't afford to sustain shifting/de-shifting over an extended fight. Tl;Dr the progression of Feral in TBC is very similar to how it is in Classic (just with a higher floor/base value at 70 such that you have value in T4/T5), but you're still going to be anti-meta in T6 and Sunwell as anything other than resto. BC is the best time to be a druid imo. Especially for ferals. BC was the height of the feral hybrid class fantasy. A feral can be the best tank and do decent dps in the same build. It's awesome.
@@davidfence6939 I would agree with you because after this point druids have to compete with death knights and dual spec. They are at the height of their game in BC.

For anyone wondering, the reason you have mana regen based on attack power on moonkin form is because it combines with the new weapon designs for attack power, boomkins can put on a feral staff with say 700+ attack power, and a few melee hits and you were back to 50% mana and could continue casting. You have to be in Moonkin form for this to get the mana regen, you can't go into cat and start attacking quickly.
people keep going on about paladin tanks in TBC but it was always the bears that made me feel obsolete in TBC as a warrior tank. Cooldown shmooldowns. Their base stats easily make up for the lack of cooldowns. no target cap swipes are hella nice too. Shield block preventing crushing blow is nice, but lots of the melee-powerhouse bosses can smack you more than 2 times in 5 seconds, and even then, the bear's superior health and armor pool makes it so that when they get crushed, it's basically the same as a warrior getting hit in terms of % of healthbar go down.
@@jimmyandersson9938 aoe threat and the lack of the ability to wear a shield on certain figures were the two main drawbacks of druid tanks in BC. What held druid tanks back the most was the Vanilla stereotypes still holding strong into early BC. Some guilds wouldn't touch a feral due to Vanilla experiences.
agree you basically will need bear and pally tanks, not warrior to progress thru BT and Sunwell. Sure you can get through SSC with Prot wars with Kara gear like King's Defender but why struggle and do 5-8% overall less raid damage just because prot war DPS is so bad compared to pally/bear
@@davidfence6939 Yeah the bad rep from vanilla certainly followed some time in BC. What I can remember druid tanks became viable and usefull for sure, but wasnt really a must, apart from good threat generation they didnt really bring anything major to the table that a warrior tank couldnt.
Good video. I've put 150 days played into my druid in Classic and loved it for the versatility. I played in both PVP and raiding... but I've considered rerolling in TBC because I know the game will be flooded with FOTM druids, the types of players who refuse to play anything, not the best. I'll probably still play my druid because I really do like it but I don't like anything that makes a class overpowered and no skill required.
This was actually excellent. I have only one thing to add, restokin isn't a good arena spec in early seasons due to the need of swiftmend for burst healing and such. However in the latter seasons with high resilience you dont need much burst healing, instead you can and will outlast every other healer in the game who isn't a restokin. Making them THE meta.
Also worth noting that SotF for bear tanks makes you need no extra defense for Heroics and less than half of the defense than war or pally needed to be raid ready
Only problem is warriors have better gear options until Karazhan. T4 is so damn good it lasts until T6! But yeah SotF is a amazing as a druid and really helps with hitting the defense cap so you can focus more on damage and dodge.
Been a feral since Vanilla to Legion and now on Classic and later Classic BC. We will be overplayed AF. For those looking to go feral dps be flexible. Yes, some top end ferals will pull high dps, but most will be average dps. And to do the top dps you'll need a druid tank mangling. In some guilds you'll have no problem, but if you go seeking quick progress in a somewhat hardcore environment then expect to be told to bring a tank set. As Willie said we have a massive tree and that allows us some flexibility. This flexibility is a huge plus for us, but also limits the number of ferals you'll see in BC. And in reality most guilds will bring one of each druid spec and maybe have a bench of 1 or 2 to fill in. Resto is great in PvP, but is surpassed by pallies and priests in raid healing. And as Willie said you only need one boomkin to bring the faerie fire debuff.
Should add feral tanks don't have the CDs of other tanks, but unlike retail BC we will be able to macro consumes with powershifting. That's a big benefit and by T6 a feral tank that has been funneled gear will be sitting pretty. There's only three bosses we can't really main tank. Kael'thas and Illidan due to abilities requiring a shield equipped to negate them. And while you can sorta put together a resistance set for Hydross in SSC Blizzard failed to add proper BC level resistance gear. You'll be an OT there. BC tank progression is simple. T4 is where warriors shine. Feral and paladin tanks need more gear early on whereas warriors have more gear flexibility. T5 druids and paladins pull nearly even, but warriors are still considered the top tank by most. T6 is where druids and paladins pull ahead if they've been gearing throughout T4 and T5 content. T6 sets are better itemized for druid and paladin tanks than warriors. A warrior isn't a bad tank, but loses the best tank spot. A druid could be argued to be the best tank for Sunwell.
Hippietree is love Hippietree is life i am shaking with excitement to be a tree again ^^. Daaayum WillE! Because there are many classes in WoW and a few changes for each class, its mean ur going to do quite many videos about each class! Which means good good youtube money! Nice one there! ;)
Ah yes this brings back memories. Back in TBC me and 4 other Horde guildies decided to mess around in Stormwind and see who's gonna stop us. We were a Prot Pally, Sub Rogue, Hunter and two warriors. A single druid in full Brutal Glad stopped us single-handedly at the gates of Stormwind
just started playing classic for the first time and started a druid because I didnt know it was considered so bad in endgame but I will keep it to have a druid in tbc when it comes.
You are just expected to heal in raids, that's the downside. druids are very strong while leveling up and fun at 60 too. One of the best world pvp classes, They aren't really bad. Don't get discouraged playing druid they are great.
When you use wow model viewer for you characters in your videos, make sure you enable anti aliasing in the settings on the WoW model viewer, it will remove the jagged edges you notice very obviously when those characters move :)
The reason to shift into bear form is to prevent mana burn. Locks/priests will just focus burn your mana. And as far as BG's go, resto/boomkin you'll constantly top both damage AND healing meters. The ultimate 1v1 spec!
Omg. Druid!!! My favorite class to play. But wish there will be a faction change. I played horde because of friends and they all quitted. I really want to be a NE Druid.
Just use the 58 boost on a Night Elf druid. I ran off on my friends and went Night Elf druid. Not a fan of Tauren. Warstomp is their only advantage over Night Elf. And I found an awesome Alliance guild in Classic so made it all worth the trouble.
"Is it any better" is a question that has meaning only for those who live by parses and hard numbers. I mained a druid vanilla through late wotlk, later on private servers and now on Classic and I wouldn't change it for any other.
Was a nelf druid in the old days, coming back now for some tauren fun times as my buddies and I decided to spice it up with horde this time around. Loving it so far.
Honestly had so much fun as a druid in classic as an alt , plus when running dungeons as my priest anytime we got a druid tank they were legit always a better player than warrior tanks haha
Given that practically every Alliance Priest was a Dwarf in Classic whereas in Vanilla they were practically zero Dwarven Priests, I just can't see a world where Druids aren't by far the most dominate healer, if not dominate class in TBC Classic. Warlocks and Hunters will split the DPS side of things, but I'd suspect that a good half of healers (and about 90% of PvP healers) will be Druids. It's a shame really as they were fun in TBC and nobody really knew they'd be _that_ good so early in the expansion it was a nice being underestimated. ;)
Always wanted to be able to root myself and that create a full on constant heal but it’s be a light heel because it supposed the other heals with Druids you’re slow so you need need to add a. GC negative before you move..
One of my old guildies from classic got a mangos server up and running and we been fiddling about with it, kara in pre raid bis, za in t5 gear, was such a laugh. The shadow priest i played in kara was bottom damage but still pumping 1k dps and resto druid in za was just amazing, lifebloom is awkward, feel like you jus cast it constantly to refresh when needed but the healing is pretty insane, pre hotting everything and you jus stump everyone else from healing. resto is definitely a spec ill be rolling in tbc classic

agree you basically will need bear and pally tanks, not warrior to progress thru BT and Sunwell.
@@jimmyandersson9938 i thought it started at 3 and then was raised to unlimited.
Hell yea, can't wait for the rest of this series!
You can unlock a white model for the cat form if you reach lvl 70 without using any forms and only using Insect Swarm to kill enemies
Good video. I've put 150 days played into my druid in Classic
and loved it for the versatility.
Boomkin "middle of the road" in damage. My favorite way to describe classes :)
Great video, can't wait for the rest
My favorite Druid healing spec was the 33/0/28 Dreamstate spec. The mana regen was so, so nice.
i missed the gnome at the intro so I had to go back
Superb video, as always, great content thanks.
Great video! I felt some subtle tree hate in there.... do you not welcome are bark overlords?
Hippietree is love Hippietree is life i am shaking with excitement to be a tree again ^^. Personally as resto druid from get go I've used rejuv as lifebloom on tanks from get go and have hardly used ht outside nature's swiftness so this whole update sounds like my cup of tea ^^ thanks for the info good sir knowing two rejuvs can be applied is so damn good I've had to fight for my rejuv spot tooth and claw this entire time
10:19 this is a really well written line :D
Gold making tip: the druid epic flight questline involves summoning a bird boss in sethekk halls which can drop a mount, you can get paid to come summon it.
WillE dropping 9 20+ minutes videos? Fuck yes
0:10 the Fel Reaver sound feels kind of a must there
Can’t wait for the next video!!!
Gnome when the shadow priest walked and also the whole time at the right bottom corner :D
just started playing classic for the first time and started a druid because I didnt know it was considered so bad in endgame but I will keep it to have a druid in tbc when it comes.
You are just expected to heal in raids, that's the downside. druids are very strong while leveling up and fun at 60 too. One of the best world pvp classes, They aren't really bad. Don't get discouraged playing druid they are great.
It'll be nice not getting laughed at whenever I want to do something other than tank from now on.
"Yeah, that gnome mage at 0:21, right? Oh wait, no, found him, and that wasn't him.
11:07 that Undead name :D
Hahaha 11:00 rogue’s name “Jebemzozadu” means i fuck from behind just a nice little touch from this video😄
Such an amazing video, always have enjoyed your content WillE can't wait for the other classes
Restokin is good but I'm too loyal to the claw
Glad to see my main to be the first in the series
Yes. Yes, they are.
13:00 Does it mean that in Tree of Life form you can cure poisons but you can't remove curses?
Omg.
Started leveling a druid recently, only level 45 but I'm loving it, really good pvp healer potential
And that staff that drops from first dungeon! Noone else needs!!!!
AAh.. rogue at 11:06 a man of culture I see.
Shoutout to all the gnome finders! Love the content!
I saw this title and cheered out loud in my living room. Looking forward to the series.
Not sure if you mentioned it but I’m fairly certain you can use barkskin in your shapeshifted forms now.
nope
"Is it any better" is a question that has meaning only for those who live by parses and hard numbers. I mained a druid vanilla through late wotlk, later on private servers and now on Classic and I wouldn't change it for any other.
Was a nelf druid in the old days, coming back now for some tauren fun times as my buddies and I decided to spice it up with horde this time around. Loving it so far.
Top notch video mate
Honestly had so much fun as a druid in classic as an alt , plus when running dungeons as my priest anytime we got a druid tank they were legit always a better player than warrior tanks haha
I just hope they will add with TBC:
- dual spec as it was in WotLK
- dampening in arenas, so if you go vs sl/sl+resto you can do at least something
It's a shame really as they were fun in TBC and nobody really knew they'd be _that_ good so early in the expansion it was a nice being underestimated. ;)
I think you're 100% right... But I cant imagine myself playing anny different class. PVP Hunter seems bad in TBC
Always wanted to be able to root myself and that create a full on constant heal but it’s be a light heel because it supposed the other heals with Druids you’re slow so you need need to add a. GC negative before you move..
Thinking about playing feral in classic. If I main pvp do I still have to use that lvl 40 helm in TBC?
Wish my old GM/RL “Azliar/Romanlord” was still around. Great Resto, amazing GM, all around top guy. Best, Tomas
