Straight guy here.. There isn't anything wrong with you bro. Remember, there will always be douche bags in the world. Your not one of them... Well unless you do something that actually makes you one, and sexual orientation doesn't qualify.

I'm not trying to mean or rude... it's just unfathomable to me to be in such a shroud for so long. I'm so glad you finally did it and I am definitely proud of you Larry!!

Your best friend is right, to call you brave, & right to be proud of you for taking that huge step. But I want to advise you on something...when you come out to people, don't think about them "accepting it", as you put it. Think about it as them accepting YOU. Being gay isn't bad. Being gay isn't a choice, so you are being YOU. And since you are not an IT, but a human being, accepting "IT" just sounds wrong to me. I'm not gay, but I go to a church that is all inclusive & welcomes all, so there are many homosexual couples in our congregation, our pastor (before she moved on ) came out to us, and we have a young teen who is transgender. Be strong, be brave, and be YOU. God blesses EVERYONE.

Good news is statistically homophobes are dying out. Far more positive comments than negative, far more people don't give a shit about sexual orientation. Smile, it's getting better. Cry all you like Tankin, you lose.

***** nothing brave about bashing people because of who they're attracted to or love either. Maybe YOUR problem is, you don't have HALF of what they have and wonder why. Maybe you're just envious that they can be themselves & love themselves & you can't. Anyone spewing that much hate, is unhappy with their own life. Too bad for you...YAY THEM. Get over yourself. YOU'RE the abomination for trying to judge someone. YOU'RE 10 times the threat that they'll ever be, because all you're doing is spreading your venomous hate around. You know what hate does? It festers & eats awsy at people. THAT'S why you're

You coming out to your best friend and him accepting you for who and what you are is a true friend. He is someone who will let you have total freedom to be yourself and especially to feel. Or, not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at the moment is fine with him. That's what real love amounts to-letting a person be what he really is.

Things get better. I am 47 now , I denied being gay to please the family until I was in my mid twenties. I excepted who I was and finally told my family after I left my hometown. it may take your family some time to adjust but it's better for you to be honest than for them to hear it from someone else

hey, I'm straight, but I don't think there is anyone more tolerant than me. there have been multiple people that have come out to me and I've helped one of my very good friends come out to his parents. I've taken part in multiple gay pride events with a lot of my friends. equal rights and gay marriage is the one thing that I believe in 4000% lol. I'm really proud of you and it does take guts dude. sexual orientation does not define who you are. it enhances it. I don't know I've started so many fights and ending multiple friendships because of my beliefs and it is just something I will always fight for. I'm glad your friend was very accepting. I hope your coming out process goes as well :)

    • @spectro1216
      @spectro1216 9 лет назад +4

It's really nice to see people such as yourself supporting those that need encouragement in the gay community. Although I think you meant well, the word "tolerant" is probably not the best way to describe your position on supporting gays. Tolerant has the connotation that "although this behavior may irritate you, you will tolerate it" and the actual dictionary definition is "showing willingness to allow the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with". You are not the only one who uses this word when referring to supporting gay culture. A better word to use would be "accepting" or just "support". I just wanted to point this out so that other readers would not use the same notation when referring to supporting gays and gay rights. Thanks again for all the support you give the gay community.

Well done mate!! I came out when I was 14 back in 1971 and it was very tough. I lost a couple of friends but I guess they were not real friends. My parents were great about it though. Yes, you are very good looking but I don't understand why guys have to comment when it is irrelevant to the conversation. A lot of gay guys are very judgemental when it comes to looks and physiques. Crazy......like someone for who they are and what's inside.

Your best friend is truly a good friend. You appear and act so unassuming, straightforward, and matter of fact, that unless you have some bad luck I think most of your friends and your family too, will take the news without much fuss. Those who do, you have to realize, also have "problems," and those problems are theirs, not yours. All good fortune to you.

I was a teenager had to ask my mom if older sister was gay? She said "what if she was?" I said " doesn't matter I still love her." Mom said " ok she is." My mom told her I knew & she freaked out but then we became closer because she didn't feel she needed to stay away. She stopped being depressed & my family felt complete. I wish you the best.

dayton hamann HELLO, it is a time process of acceptance to yourself. Tell one person that you truly trust and that will not judge you, but accept you. By telling that one person, within time, you will find courage to come out and tell any one you decide to tell, because it is "OUR" decision on who we tell and no one else's decision.

Good self care , and good for you . Staying in the closet would only drive you deeper into that empty closet where you tried to feel safe. Glad you told your best friend, that's a huge second step. Admitting it to your self was the first step. There will be day's when being out you will face adversity, but you are out on your terms and speaking your truth. Life will be a mixture of good and not so good people. Take what you need and leave the rest. Best wishes to you . Tom in Minneapolis, MN 10/14/19

Jesse I'm also proud of you...not only for coming out and taking the brave path but for having the courage to post it online. Too many others who have come before you have taken the easy path...hopefully your message will inspire others to be brave, and know, like I do, that it DOES get better. Not everyone may accept you for who you are, but the ones who do, are the ones worth having in your life.

Since years have passed you no doubt have discovered that it indeed gets better because "it" will be what YOU make it as you navigate through a world of haters and free yourself from "friends" (who weren't your true friends to begin with) and even any family who do not accept you for who you are. This process will go on indefinitely but will become as easy as something second nature.
What I love the most about this, is that this the very first I've ever seen on You Tube or anywhere else for that matter that resulted in all positive comments and feedback! Whoa! There should be a monetary prize for that, come on You Tube!
Well done man, very best to you.

When you said "im alone out here" the words popped out. I know you meant out there in the wilderness. However there is thst inner wilderness of self-discovery,Self-realized and beyond. Let's just say you found the mountain of God and now your starting the climb. Though there are others with you it's a lonely one. Thats neither good or bad. It's a climb we all must make as individuals whether gay or straight. You'll get to the top of the mountain. It's your birth right to do so. There you'll discover even more so of the best of who you are.💕🤣💕 Have a blessed and safe journey my beautiful ONE. 💖🙏💖

I, too, came out to my straight best friend first. It only brought us closer. Since then, I've been coming out to several people in my life. Most still don't know, but the fact that I know that I, for sure, have a handful of people who love me and support me for who I am is enough for now.

The hardest part is over, coming to grips with yourself, and coming out to the first person. It will get easier, but there will be tough times and those that will not accept you, brush them both off and keep making yourself happy. I know the feeling and what you are going through. As a gay man myself we all take somewhat of a journey of identity. I was always scared never thought life would be as good as the so called normal people, I was wrong! I just celebrated my 31st year with my partner in crime. The world ahead is yours, be strong, make yourself happy, love others as you want to be loved, celebrate baby steps, and most of all stand tall and be proud of you! Good luck buddy may your future be everything you make it. Great video I am glad people like you share these kinds of videos because they help others people sitting in their basements that may be confused... be the best you that you can be

Good for you, happy for you, as long as you are at the place when you find out who you are and are happy with you, that's the best start in life, then the big jump forward is telling a good friend and they take you as you and still love you, that is the best feeling in the world, that's a true friend and a good one to have, little steps as you go and life in its own way gets better and better and makes you stronger. great video and I only just found it, so I hope life is good for you still and now....

Hi Jesse. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I really enjoyed the video. It made me feel more human and accept-able just by watching and I have been out since 1996, but still lacking on as much self love as I see in your video. Looks like you might be living in a remote area with a low population and that makes friends even more important and what you did even more comendable. What I liked most about your story was that you shared about your process and struggle with self-acceptance and that it is just 'part' of who you are and that 'you're' still the same guy. Basically acknowledging that it is your sexuality and not your identity. Huge difference. Bro!! When you do that, you really lay claim to 'your' life and your place in the Universe and of the universe. I hope you begin to fully enjoy being fully you and the feeling of that light you just turned on inside of you which is liberating a lot of people from of a very common but a very unnecessary ignorance and/or lack of self-love. You're a handsome man btw, but your humility makes this video particularly powerful and beautiful, together in the wilds of nature and your personal dimension of human nature, where we all belong and all come from, and shining when we come-out!! :-)

Just saw your video for the first time. When you came out to your best friend, you both discovered the foundation of your friendship. You gave him your honesty, and he gave you his indifference. The bond and love within your friendship was the reason you told him first, and the reason for his 'non-reaction'. Loves will come and go throughout your life, but this friendship will be the one constant as you grow old...together. I am proud, of both of you. And I thank you, for sharing your story.

coming out is one of the hardest things to do. we all have to do it at some stage when we finally feel comfortable enough within ourselves it suddenly gets easier. Looking back I'd wished i'd done it years earlier with great family and friends there should never be a problem and if there is a problem are they really worthy of having a share in your life. We only have one life ...ONE. Live that life the way you and only you want to live it. Hold your head high and shine knowing your who you are the person you're ment to be. Be Brave and do it on your terms only.
