+Malia Velazquez He was probably texting a friend about what was going on. I spent most of the video trying to figure out where the other part of her glasses were lol
I never realized how accepting my parents are of this stuff... My sister (17 now) came out at like 14, and it wasn't even a deal.... Like at all. Just one day we were sitting watching tv and she started talking about how she likes girls, and I was like "yeah I think I do too!". My dad didn't even really pay attention, he never really said anything about it. And my mom was literally like "yeah I think people love who they love" and that was it. Now she tells me that she thinks maybe she's bi. Like what... We never even "came out". It was just, a normal thing... Its like we told them we were straight or something LOL
@@jrreogreugerugregreger7486 Ever considered that this was such an emotionally charged moment for Daniel and that this is how they could cope at the time?
hes parents already knew he was gay. He just thought they didnt. My parent didnt think i was gay cause i would do so many things that a feminine guy wouldnt do
He's not a little kid and should show his mom the same respect he's hoping she will show him. Notice her attention is on him the whole time? Using his phone for comfort does not change how rude it is.
+David Rocha Well my parents seemed pretty iffy on the subject from the start but I held out hope that it might be ok. So one night while watching TV with my parents, I worked up the courage to tell them. They were instantly shocked by it. Both of them had extremely disappointed looks on their faces and my dad just remained silent. My mom kept asking me to clarify and then wanted to make sure I knew what I was talking about. Then my mom basically started going on a lecture about how I was wrong, just confused, AIDS, and so on. They threw gay stereotypes at me to try to dissuade me and so on. Much like the guy in this video, I pulled out my phone and just kept checking it while my parents kept going on and on. I really wanted to get out of their at that point. I found my phone's license agreement to be the most comforting thing that night to be honest. The more and more my parents went on, the more of me kept dying on the inside. Eventually, I had enough and went to my room to go to sleep. My parents were in there room arguing with each other, trying to place blame. I pretty much cried myself to sleep that night. My parents would barely speak to me for weeks after that. They forbid me from telling anyone else in the family too. It didn't help that I lost most of my friends at the time too when they found out through a separate incident. I was basically forced back in the closet completely and wouldn't come out again to anyone until many years later when I started college. I was in a pretty dark place at the time, and there was pretty much a don't ask don't tell policy in my family. There still is today (6 years later). I have new friends now who are very supportive though. My parents just basically act like it never happened and probably hope it was just a phase or something. I know eventually i'll have to bring it up to my parents again, but I'll wait until I have a boyfriend to do that. Even though it's been over 6 years, I'm not ready to go through that again just yet. I guess I should just be grateful that it could've gone a lot worse. I wish you the best of luck coming out to your parents. My advice to you would be that if your parents seem iffy on the subject, then be prepared for a lot of drama, possibly even a worst case scenario. But even if it doesn't go well, things will eventually get better and you'll surely find more supportive people along the way.

+Edith Owen If you're not sure about you're sexuality yet, then no need to rush to come out or anything. If you can't ever picture yourself with a guy, then you're likely lesbian. You may also be bisexual. It really depends on your feelings. It took me awhile to accept that I was gay, I also did a lot of research online and took some quizzes to get an idea. Eventually I determined there was no doubt I'm gay. It seems like your parents and family would be really accepting of you if you were lesbian or bisexual since they sound so open to the idea of you being a lesbian. But don't feel pressured to come out to them or anything. Wait until you're absolutely sure of your sexuality. Everyone has their own way of figuring out their sexuality. It's not always black and white for a lot of people. Hope that helps!

+Arianna Canita There is no bi. Its either lesbian or straight. If there is bi, who in this world would want to be a lesbian if they can also be straight?
frdman yeah that's like what I've said, just a little more accurate. I think it's very good that you can get married in some states and I hope that soon gay marriage is legal in all states and in my country (germany) too... it's horrible that in some countries you can even get sentenced to death just for how you feel, this makes me sick
No it's not fucking normal! You will burn in the bowels of hell! Save yourself and reach out to the light of Jesus Christ our savior! Just kidding. Yeah there's no such thing as "normal". Whoever you're attracted to is the right one for you. Just be yourself and don't ever be ashamed of what you feel.
I swear that is the sweetest thing I have ever watched! You have such a loving and caring mom who accepts you for who you are. My parents would just put me for adoption. This made me want to cry. It is so sweet!
Well Ive cried... im 14 and ik im gay and I can't come out like ever .. my parents won't accept it .. one time I told my mom I wanted to cut my hair more and she was like no your ganna trun into a tomboy (she thinks that most tomboys are gey )
This made me cry, right away when she gave him a hug. I just watched the "How not to react when your child tells you he's gay" and seeing this mom's reaction warmed my heart. She seems like a very sweet mother, I needed to see some humanity today ♥
You've got a wonderful mom! Very often, the fear of telling it is bigger than what ever may come as a reaction. When I came out to my Mom, I asked her to come with me for a walk. We sat down on a bench. Then, I said (it's 20 years ago now, but I still know it like it has been yesterday): "Mom. I need to tell you something. Long Pause. I am gay". She instantly said "Oh, yes. And now?". I answered: "Mom, I think you didn't understand. I am homosexual. A queer. A sissy. A butt fucker ...". She stopped me, saying: "Stop, stop. I've got it". She never had a problem with it. Knowing that made my life a lot easier. *** I love you Mom! ***
My son came out to us when he was 14. We didn't expect it, not really, but it was always in the back of my mind. He knew we loved him and always would, no exceptions. I have only one reason to be sad, one less source of possible grandkids! He has promised to look into adopting. When ignorant fools claim it was something he chose, I ask them why would he choose a lifestyle where he would face prejudice, hatred and possibly death. No one can answer me that one. He's had a couple of committed relationships but nothing serious yet. He's out there waiting to meet my son and I will love him as much as I love my daughter-in-laws!
Nonono sweetheart... It doesn't matter how man enough you are! If your parents don't accept you, they're wrong, not you. Things will get a lot better if you tell them tho trust me ;D
I'm a mom and I thought parents know when there's something going on and I thought I will know, if my child is gay. I was wrong. When my daughter asked, if she could introduce someone to me and send me a picture of a woman, it definitely took me by surprise!
I'm back here 10 years later again. I'm finally going to come out to my family today and I hope for a reaction as good as this but I don't expect much because of their views. I wish everyone here 10 years later the best of luck coming out! You can do it at anytime whenever you're ready and even if my parents disown me I know that I still have my friends as my family and that's just as important. I love you all - Malakai.
I thought it was amazing how your mom was yelling "it's a choice!!" only it wasn't about you being gay, but about you being stubborn. That made me laugh! Your mom seems very sweet.
@@Whitewitch_25 lol so true ☺ but when you tell someone something you should look at them the whole time. But yeah, it's a big sign that someone is nervous about something
this is my opinion. the hardest thing about "congmin out" is not that we are being accepted, it's the fact that we have to be strong enough to fight all that we have seen , heard and learned about our love being wrong, it's the casual conversations, the news, the groups we are around and the religion active attacks on being gay. that crack the foundation of being a healthy gay person. you can even hear it in the questioning from the loving mother. "baybe your bi" this conversation should have just been simple. "thank you for sharing with me, I love you and always sill,, now let's go on with life"
It still makes me cry at how accepting your mom is, and it’s so immediate. You are so blessed. I’ve been watching this video for years in through hard moments and I can only hope my parents will someday react half as well as your mom did.
Beautiful video! If only more parents, siblings and friends were as open minded and compassionate toward the person revealing themselves for the first time. Awesome and well done!
This is so beautiful I love it! She is so accepting of her son and this is a great conversation between them. She nailed it and so did he. This is great
Not only was he nervous, but he explained it in a later video that he had sent off a quick text that was meant for his friend that already knew, but accidentally came out to his brother who didn't know, so he accidentally came out to two people at the same time
You're actually so blessed to have such an amazing and accepting mother. She's so lovely, thats how all parents should be, accepting of their children no matter what or who they are. Pffft i cant imagine my parents reaction if i tell them about me... ah. xx
At some point I was hoping your mom is going to grab your damn phone away from you and engage in the conversation. Thanks for sharing your story and I'm glad your mom was really cool with it.
I know this is old but this really really warmed my heart. You are so lucky to have this beautiful soul as a mother. If more parents were like her this world would be such a better place. She is amazing!
Dont use gay people as a form as entertainment or pleasure they aren't just for you to obsess over. They're just normal people not for you to "fan girl over"
a aaa You're the best one to judge. If you're pretty sure that your dad can accept it, you might want to tell him. If you're pretty sure he can't, best to wait until you're independent. You're a minor and he can take away privileges, etc. Because you're only 13, he might not even take you seriously and think you're confused or going through a phase. You could bring up some things having to do with homosexuality (news, T.V., a book) and gage his reaction, try to get an idea of how he feels about gays in general.. If you do come out, I'd do it in a public place with lots of people around. It might cause a scene but there would be people who could hopefully intervene if he really got on your case or even got (heaven forbid) violent. I hope this helps.
Because it is assumed that you're straight, and you very likely have had countless, innumerable times when you and others have talked about people you wanted to date, talked of marrying, or just people you thought were attractive, and being quite clear in the pronouns you used. Every time you did this, you announced or confirmed your interest in one gender or the other (unless you're bi) so your sexual orientation was out there in the open. It is just such an everyday thing that straight people don't realize they don't need to make a clear, unequivocal statement.
I think the reason why he was on the phone the whole time because it's kind of an awkward conversation for him, and direct eye contact in such a nerve racking conversation is really frightening, give him a break.
Ok I am 54 years old and I can still remember the time when I came out to my father and that was in the time when it was not safe to be gay and this same thing with my mom all she said is that you are my son and I love unconditionally so I know how hard it is to come out but now I am very happy to be myself
Very touching story and what a warm caring mother u have.... you are a well groomed and attractive guy who will now be more relaxed and feel free and invigorated....well done and cheers to your precious mother ❤😊

Michael In is
God does love everyone. Sadly there are people today who preach a gospel of hate. Do not believe them. God's love trumps religious dogma every time.
Im bi I'm still deciding if I'm a lesbian or just bi
Good luck on figuring yourself out :3
Arianna Canita If you have to decide you are probably bi.
then33k4 huh.. i don't know a single lesbian whos into cocks. :D not even toys^^.
+Arianna Canita There is no bi. Its either lesbian or straight. If there is bi, who in this world would want to be a lesbian if they can also be straight?
+Lady Gaga It's funny because lady gaga is bisexual😂💪🏼
I wish I could come out but being gay is illegal in my country !
It's not illegal to be gay in the United States
frdman yeah that's like what I've said, just a little more accurate. I think it's very good that you can get married in some states and I hope that soon gay marriage is legal in all states and in my country (germany) too... it's horrible that in some countries you can even get sentenced to death just for how you feel, this makes me sick
Same here
Spooneads a country in the middle east
***** the country is ruled by islam
What a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL mother. You're very lucky.
Im a girl, i find guys attractive, but i find girls even more attractive... is this normal?
You're awesome. Thanks:)
Yes, it is normal. You might be gay or bisexual. Still, it's normal.
its normal! im bisexual and like girls way more than guys its not anything bad or to be ashamed of
No it's not fucking normal! You will burn in the bowels of hell! Save yourself and reach out to the light of Jesus Christ our savior! Just kidding. Yeah there's no such thing as "normal". Whoever you're attracted to is the right one for you. Just be yourself and don't ever be ashamed of what you feel.
doxide I was about be like "Oh hell nah" then I continued reading and I was like XD
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you react when someone close to you tells you they're gay. Love and support, nothing more nothing less.
I swear that is the sweetest thing I have ever watched! You have such a loving and caring mom who accepts you for who you are. My parents would just put me for adoption. This made me want to cry. It is so sweet!
Well Ive cried... im 14 and ik im gay and I can't come out like ever .. my parents won't accept it .. one time I told my mom I wanted to cut my hair more and she was like no your ganna trun into a tomboy (she thinks that most tomboys are gey )
hatoona Oh, I'm sorry. My mom is like that too. My brother is gay and my mom treats him like crap.
Blessie Ruelo I know right!
I love how his mom is so supportive. 💗🏳️🌈
Yeah, one of the best moms 🤠 She's the definition of "Parenting Goals"
"..2 days ago, when you were like sorta friendly with me" LOL your mom is hilarious and so sweet!
This made me cry, right away when she gave him a hug. I just watched the "How not to react when your child tells you he's gay" and seeing this mom's reaction warmed my heart. She seems like a very sweet mother, I needed to see some humanity today ♥
was anyone else confused when the lunch box appeared randomly
Dan had to edit out a part of the video where his mom mentioned the name of their hometown. (Dan edited it out to protect her privacy.)
Aww his mom is adorable lol
What a nice mom :) I love how people are becoming so accepting and loving. Great video!
He's out there waiting to meet my son and I will love him as much as I love my daughter-in-laws!
your mom is amazing :)
Best fucking mom award goes to this lady. I'm crying. Oh my god. #BestMomAward
I wish I was man enough to tell my mom I am GAY.
you're gay... you're not a mna
+Adam Piwetz Oh and wtf is a mna
Nonono sweetheart... It doesn't matter how man enough you are! If your parents don't accept you, they're wrong, not you. Things will get a lot better if you tell them tho trust me ;D
_Nerdy_ Girl :)
+Maw Says the one who has to use stfu to type Shut the fuck up #Totalmoron
Mothers know when there's something going on!!!! :) Your mum is gorgeous and her reaction was amazing. You're very lucky Daniel :)
Dammm Daniel
+Riley Napier omg XD
I'm a mom and I thought parents know when there's something going on and I thought I will know, if my child is gay.
I was wrong.
When my daughter asked, if she could introduce someone to me and send me a picture of a woman, it definitely took me by surprise!
And the award for best mother goes to.....every mother that accept their gay/lesbian child for who they are.
This mum is my spirit animal, and this video restores my faith in humanity.
Chanse 2047 I identify as this guy's mom because she is amazing and one of the best things ever.
"I'm gay"
"surprise"
I’m not sure why I love theses videos. I’m not even gay. I just love all these brave people who have the guts to do this!!! #lgbtq
You're very lucky....what a lovely lady.
Update?
Your mom rocks
oh gosh she is talking to you and you are on your phone!
Cata rodri HE IS NERVES!!
He still listening, and he nerves of course..
Cata rodri It's just him being extremely nervous.
He's checking Grindr
yeah he's clearly nervous and just needs something to look at in the heat of the moment
she probably already knew...
I thought it was amazing how your mom was yelling "it's a choice!!" only it wasn't about you being gay, but about you being stubborn. That made me laugh! Your mom seems very sweet.
I was thinking the same thing. That made me so happy
Your mom is amazing! Btw...get off your phone! Lol
Bill Bennett some people go on their phone when they are nervous.
@@Whitewitch_25 lol so true ☺ but when you tell someone something you should look at them the whole time. But yeah, it's a big sign that someone is nervous about something
Yeh but u could see how nervous he was so I dont blame him because I always do that when I'm nervous
this is my opinion. the hardest thing about "congmin out" is not that we are being accepted, it's the fact that we have to be strong enough to fight all that we have seen , heard and learned about our love being wrong, it's the casual conversations, the news, the groups we are around and the religion active attacks on being gay. that crack the foundation of being a healthy gay person. you can even hear it in the questioning from the loving mother. "baybe your bi" this conversation should have just been simple. "thank you for sharing with me, I love you and always sill,, now let's go on with life"
This made me cry. I love how accepting she was and i'd be the same way as a mother. Wonderful video. :)
PLEASE some one give a medal to his mom
Hats off to his mom.
I’m obsessed with all the reasons she came up with for her coming home! Especially “did you clean the house?” Cause that’s my parents 😂😂
I love this
1:32 the blue thing scared me 😂😂😂
N.I.P me too
N.I.P LOL
N.I.P lol
Nick omg samee😂😂😂
ikr it appears suddenly
“I am a great mom!” Absolutely. She seems amazing!
I realize he's nervous but can he put the phone down for 5min?
It still makes me cry at how accepting your mom is, and it’s so immediate. You are so blessed. I’ve been watching this video for years in through hard moments and I can only hope my parents will someday react half as well as your mom did.
Omg your mom is an angel and so understanding .
3 years later. Bawling my eyes out.
Beautiful video! If only more parents, siblings and friends were as open minded and compassionate toward the person revealing themselves for the first time. Awesome and well done!
This is so beautiful I love it! She is so accepting of her son and this is a great conversation between them. She nailed it and so did he. This is great
Your mom is lovely :)
Would be a nice video if you weren't staring at your phone the whole time. Dude, wtf?
He's nervous about it.
Jelboo kinda like his security blanket in this video, he's too nervous to look at his mom
Not only was he nervous, but he explained it in a later video that he had sent off a quick text that was meant for his friend that already knew, but accidentally came out to his brother who didn't know, so he accidentally came out to two people at the same time
SHE IS AN AMAZING MOTHER ! SHE IS AMAZING
You have a absolutely great mom wow God bless both of you no matter what and btw your cute too lol
What a great mum!
Get off your PHONE!!!!!
HES NERVOUS READ THE DESCRIPTION
His mom is so nice and understanding but he pays her very little attention... Smh
he is listening, he is on his phone for comfort
I think he's just SUPER nervous and he did it for comfort.
God, how amazingly wonderful to have a parent who says "My concern is that there's prejudice in the world."
lol she must have known it
You're actually so blessed to have such an amazing and accepting mother.
Scott H That phone though right?
Scott H that phone annoyed me so much!
He was nervous. You can tell by what he's doing he's not actually texting. he's just rapidly scrolling. Give the kid a break.
Look at the description.
I know this is old but this really really warmed my heart. You are so lucky to have this beautiful soul as a mother. If more parents were like her this world would be such a better place. She is amazing!
Your mother Is beautiful and a cool lady your a lucky young man.
What’s a brilliant mum
Your mom is amazing. My parents have NOT accepted it.
The your parents are too weak for the gay
compwhiz2000 did they kick you out or something?
Erm, blue thing appears suddenly at 1:33 on the counter?
i'd be fangirling if my child would come out to me probably 😂😂😂😂
Fangirling over your child??
+Connor Doogan Yeah, why?
fangirling just because he's gay..does it even make sense
+Brighteyes Inthewoods yep that's the point
Dont use gay people as a form as entertainment or pleasure they aren't just for you to obsess over. They're just normal people not for you to "fan girl over"
i am gay and i havent told anyone and its making me depressed the bad thing is i only have a dad :(((
Stay strong, don't be afraid to be who you are.
im only 13 is the problem idk wut my dad will do
a aaa Tell a friend first, or a counselor. someone you know won't ostracize you
a aaa You're the best one to judge.
"I don't announce I'm heterosexual" Awwwww your mom is sooooo cute!!!!
🎉what a wonderful mother….i hope Daniel realises just how lucky he is and how much she loves him
I think the reason why he was on the phone the whole time because it's kind of an awkward conversation for him, and direct eye contact in such a nerve racking conversation is really frightening, give him a break.
This made me smile
Your Mom is hilarious! "I am a great Mom!"
Ok I am 54 years old and I can still remember the time when I came out to my father and that was in the time when it was not safe to be gay and this same thing with my mom all she said is that you are my son and I love unconditionally so I know how hard it is to come out but now I am very happy to be myself
I love her statement!
Your mom is awesome!
Very touching story and what a warm caring mother u have.... you are a well groomed and attractive guy who will now be more relaxed and feel free and invigorated....well done and cheers to your precious mother ❤😊
