Well, well, well. Sarah, you had to ask that important question after I was starting on a rant regarding truth in performance. While the 6-pot motor sales sets the Standard in the Toyota 6 pot, for peformancingē
A lot of your review data reminded me of one of the cars I had to sell when I emigrated from England - a lightly tuned Porsche 944TurboS. That had 250 BHP as designed from a 4 cylinder turbo 2.5 litre, also 50/50 weight balance and rather modest wheels for its class. Rebuilt with forged pistons and a better fuel pump and ECU tweaks, it made 312 BHP on the dyno and was far and away the most lively and fun car I have ever owned, especially as it lacked an LSD! So I think this Supra could end up much loved in years to come. Great review as ever - your format and presenting as well as the filming and editing, not to mention your sense of humour, make these a great to watch!
I recently came to America and saw this car on the road; couldn't stop staring, a Red Supra. It's an order of magnitude prettier than what it looks in the picture or videos. This Beauty makes me so happy. You usually don't see such cars on Indian roads.
You do have a big point. If they were to revive that name, it would be amazing. Also, styling point; Yes definitely change it up just a tad bit nothing too crazy just to set them apart
I’m old enough to remember the original Supra... it was essentially Toyota’s “Mach I” of the Celica. Very much in your court... some different, less expensive but fun versions would be awesome and could get the younger generations hooked on Toyota’s for life. Great review.
No, would not make any sense calling it a Celica. The 86 would be the natural successor to the Celica if Toyota wanted to resurrect the Celica. The 2.0 Supra is way to close in so many ways to the 3.0 Supra.
I love that you show the underside of all the cars in your reviews. And yeah, no fluid is lifetime. I just changed all fluids in my truck at 60,000 miles today, coincidentally.
Actually they are lifetime, for a very specific definition of the word "lifetime". (The other word for it is "short".) I suppose that in the more frigid regions of the USA, Canada, Alaska and the like, road salt may well kill it with corrosion before the fluid needs changing. That could be classified as lifetime couldn't it?

Everyone made a fuss about the 440 and 426 Cudas back in the day, but the best handling one was the AAR Cuda with the 340 six pack. Lighter = better cornering, all day long, and it was far from slow.
Ye gods Sarah! Good work fabulous you, your obvious hard work in editing and getting this car view out is outstanding and it's a great car view as they alway are.
Yes, I agree. Bring back the notchback. I have a 1972 Celica coupe that I bought new when a junior in high school. Why yes, still have and love it! Too sentimental to part with. Btw, it was $2847.00. :o). Why yes, I heard that last minute f-bomb. :o). Keep up the great work!
Your videos were always fun and different and I always enjoyed the humor, but adding the garage space and now doing the lift shots and more mechanical stuff has really elevated the channel. I think the subs speak for themselves. It's a nice feeling being part of something that gets better and bigger (...), there are some channels that take a high dive in a low well and this isn't one. Keep going.
I just knew your equipment case was going to fly into the windshield during the ever-loving braking test! Oh and btw, you missed a censor beep at the end. An f-bomb got by!😂
Another awesome review, thanks Sarah, thank you very much :) The thing with power folding mirrors is that they fold in and face up, so rain, snow, freezing rain all fall onto the mirror, they should fold in and face down so they are protected from the natural weather elements. I rate this cinco de mayo burritos.
A Celica is something i haven't thought about in 40 years! I will look it up again, but imo they should be left behind. Lol too much? I love your videos, you make them all interesting with your personality. You make me smile and chuckle. Thank you!
As the owner of a 96 Celica ST, it's honestly been my favorite car I've owned, and I think Toyota missed a big opportunity with this Supra to bring back the Celica name plate. However, if they had, the only things I would have asked for (if possible) would be to cut the weight down to at least sub-3k pounds (imo, 3100 is still a bit too heavy for a Celica), slash that price, and modify the chassis so you don't have all that dead space between the engine and the front of the car. That said, for a new "Celica" I'd also be fine with a 2dr liftback Corolla that had a more sporty suspension setup. Loved the video! Keep up the great work!
I like your idea of styling the 4-cylinder version a little different and calling it a Celica. Then they could go completely off the deep end and offer it with a 6-speed manual (or the ZF 8-speed auto) and drop the price to closer to 40K 😁 And to answer your question, I've never used the presets on any radio, even when they were mechanical buttons.
Seems like an okay idea on paper, but both the Supra and Z4 are built in the same factory in Austria. If they were to deviate too much from the current design, I’m sure that would mess with production. It’s already a low volume car compared to what Toyota/BMW typically sells. Imo, the current “Celica” is the GT86. There are some “bolt-in” manuals for the B48 (and B58 iirc), just a matter of that getting greenlit.
I owned a well used Celica GT back in the day. A great car for just tossing around in the curves and fun for everyday driving. So, a new Celica that was based on the current Supra would get my vote.
I do enjoy your dry humor. It’s just awesome :)) Plus, big plus with the creativity regarding showing off the rims. I have t see that anywhere else on RUclips :)!
My best friend in high school had a 78 Celica. We had a lot of great times in that car. I hear what you're saying about the 6 cylinder but there is something special about that 4. At least for me.
I had a 1976 Celica, brand new with 5 speed manual. It was a fun to drive 4 cylinder. The Supra was definitely a next level car as it was much more than a larger engine. This car doesn't seem to be totally different between 4 and 6 cylinder. I like this car and would buy the 6 cylinder version like Sarah said, get the full optioned package.
Another great review. It is a bit watered down and for that money there are other options to look at. That’s for the honest review and not sugar coating it.
With you on the insanity of "lifetime fill." They actually eliminated the drainplug for the diff on my e90 3-series! Glad to see the Supra appears to have one.
You can fix that by literally drilling your own drain plug into it and tapping some threads with a threading tool. Get a little m14 1.25 bolt to put in and just replace whatever fluid comes out with new fluid.
Holy Spicy Mustard! Some folks don’t want or need the 6, but want all the other options like leather, stereo & power cooled seats. This is typical, pay top dollar & get everything or pay a little less & get a lot less.
Another great review from a RUclipsr that brings excellent and unique content and simply does not read us the spec sheet and is essentially a sales person for the dealership they borrowed it from. By the way, if Toyota wanted to bring back the Celica, they would have called the 86 the Celica. The 2.0 Supra is way to close to the 3.0 Supra in so many ways that it makes no sense to call it a Celica.
Another great car review, Sarah. I like your idea of making the four cylinder model of this car slightly different than the six. Always love the underside views of the cars you review. On the subject of smushed exhaust, I had that on my Ford Focus RS. For some reason, they smushed the exhaust, right in the middle. I cured that problem by putting on the Ford Performance (Borla) exhaust. No more smush! As always, keep up the car reviews. I really enjoy your style.
I'm with you, Sarah. I've never been a fan of all the extra bells & whistles in cars now. That's why I've always had base models with manual trannys. You're awesome; keep on doing your great work 👌👍.
Sarah, for the wind buffeting, when u rolled the drivers window down, if u roll the passenger side down about an inch to inch and a half, buffeting goes away like “magic”
The first car I bought (with my own money) was a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am GT. It came in a four cylinder and six cylinder variety, but the 3.1L V6 was well known to be a lemon. Drove that car near a decade, largely without incident. Might still be driving it if that deer hadn't had its way. But in that light, I can absolutely believe a four-cylinder variant of a sporty car is a viable performance daily. Thanks for this review!
The scene that start with: "No one behind me" Enjoys me most, every time. There's no one in front of you Sarah, that's the reality Thank you: about you Cheers, Kay (Not my natural language, sorry about this)
The buttons marked 1 - 8 are shortcuts for the i-drive system not just radio presets, you can use them for presetting the radio but you would only need one button for that. Read the owners manual or just start playing with them. They are super useful once you get to figure out what you need them for.
Before Lexus was given birth, I had a chance to drive my uncle's Celica around. What a fun car! It was a blast to drive, night time Chicago 4 and 5 lanes were like a video game. The reason I got to drive the Celica was because because my uncle had purchased a Supra. Man! That was a luxury step up that I was not given the opportunity to drive. Yes, it makes sense for a return of the Celica. The newest Mr. Toyoda in charge has said he wants Toyota to also be seen as fun and fresh, along with being safe and reliable, so I see the Celica as a possibility. But what about sales, Bob? If everyone continues to purchase trucks and SUVs, will dealers want to spend any of their Floor Plan on show-floor trophies?
Thanks for the great review and the metric fuel consumption! A nice upgrade to this car would be them fixing the wind buffeting. It's a ridiculous defect on a car that begs to be driven with the windows down!
I'm all for the Celina gt model. That car with just a bit different front end and just a little coupish style would work well. I enjoy your channel Sarah. You do a great job. You can make me laugh, when I need it most! Love and prayers to you. Come drive my '21 Honda Accord Sport 2.0t!
If the number buttons are anything like the ones in a BMW, and I'm guessing they are, you can assign shortcuts to menu screens to them. That's pretty useful.
You know, besides the awesome reviews, one thing to make the braking tests look more interesting is to have a foot cam to show how the pedals are being played with, considering the last blooper compilation where the braking tests are introduced.
I totally agree on bringing a Celica, creating more value for the Supra 2.0. We could see both cars getting popular, just like the Stinger is at the moment. I think the Supra 2.0 is freaking cool, an odd ball that will pickup value. Cause they won't sell that many.
For some people that can't afford the extra 8k usd (12k in Canada for me) this entry level supra is a gift from Toyota. Still has the great style, at the cost of lower power. But it still puts a smile on your face! It really opens up a whole new market, yes i will regret the Supra 3.0 , but i will enjoy the 2.0 very much so! getting the 2022 as soon as they can build n ship it!
I originally owned an SX 1990 Celica and currently have a 2001 ZR Celica (Australia). I would love it if Toyota resurrected the Celica nameplate, on the correct type of car of course. Great concept idea.
The fact that the engine is that far back will do great for handling. This thing would make a nice track car. And the lightness and the cheaper price tag would open it up for tuning and some extras
I test drove the 2.0 Supra a couple of times recently. I actually really loved the look though the fake vents are inexcusable for this price range. Also, no performance brakes is a joke for any sports car over $40,000 brand new. The brakes felt mushy with some poor bite. I love the interior and the seats. Power was fine. The base model (without the safety and tech package) has some awful standard speakers. You gotta get the Tech package with the JBL audio. I was almost going to purchase one though I decided to go a different route. The 3.0 Supra with the safety and tech package would be the way I would go as you get a lot for a little more. Great car. I can see this car be an insurance monster in a few years like the FRS was in the mid to late 2010's as it will attract the tuner market.
The reason that manufacturers make the base models look like "watered down" versions of the top model is to get us to buy $8000 worth of stuff we don't need and will never use. It's also why options now come in packages. If you want full instrumentation you have to buy the package with dual lighted vanity mirrors, six way power rear seats and twenty four sub woofers. Thanks for some great and insightful reviews.
Those older models. I had an '83 Celica GT Coup. It had the retractable headlights instead of the peekaboos. And don't forget the Clarion cassette deck with the analogue tuner.
I would love to see you do a car review on the 2022 lexus scGR F1 otherwise know as the sc300 or sc400, Sarah don't forget about this one, love your content you are amazing
Hey I just picked up my Supra and was messing around and found out that you can use the presets, for instances like #1 can take straight to tire pressures or anything in the menu with going through the whole screens. To answer your question at 3:42. So I guess you can say I will be using them. Lol hopefully it don’t put me in the weird category. Love your reviews By The Way!!
With the front end being 200 lbs lighter, it's gotta be a lot more fun to hustle along a twisty mountain road. And that's why I'd take this every time, over the 3.0 liter. #UnpopularOpinion
The numberstrip is actually very handy. You can program any kind of function under these numbers, like satnav destinations, screen black and most idrive functions. And yes, radio stations is also possible

Loving the reviews and looking forward to the variety of cars you will be working on too. Hi to little Sarah and the baby sister too. JX
I agree with your comment about the "lifetime" transmission fluid. That's a manufacturers thing, the ZF website, the company that builds them recommends changing the fluid every 80-120k km. Which I think converts to every 50-75k miles.
Toyo *does* produce a great, reliable car, no question; but Japanese cars do look and feel so clinically sterile, when compared with some French or Italian motors. The up-side is that Toyos will keep going, with little more than the recommended regular maintenance programs. And interior parts generally don’t break or fall off, as those inside Euro-metal all-too-often do… As for ‘sealed for life’ gearboxes - such absolute bollox! Wear particles become suspended within the fluid, and can cause sticky electrovalves and worse. I carry out an annual partial fluid change - 3 of the 7 litre capacity - to the (Japanese!) Aisin-Warner AM6 autobox in my Citroën C6’s, and at 100,000+ miles they still shift faultlessly (unlike those that don’t get the same treatment). Love your quirkily-delivered reviews, Sarah! 🤘
The engineers aren't wrong about the oil, they simply define "Lifetime" as the length of the warranty period plus one mile. Seriously, though. You and Scotty Kilmer are on the side of the angels.
I think bringing back the Celica Supra would be a great idea. I too miss all the body style changes between the different trim packages. It gave the buyer so much more variety for their ideal car.
Totally agree with you. I think Toyota should do something slightly different with the 4- cylinder Supra by reintroducing the Toyota Celica Supra trim with different styling cues

Can I get that with a side order of Doppler Effect?
The scene that start with:
"No one behind me"
Enjoys me most, every time.
There's no one in front of you Sarah, that's the reality
Thank you: about you
Cheers, Kay
(Not my natural language, sorry about this)
I prefer the 2.0 turbocharged 4 cylinder, $8,000.00 that a lot of penguin food!! And it still put a big smile on your face! Thanks Sarah!
Happy Humpday Sarah!!
Stay excellent!!😎
Damn auto correct! Celica!
If the number buttons are anything like the ones in a BMW, and I'm guessing they are, you can assign shortcuts to menu screens to them. That's pretty useful.
And phone numbers for quick dialling
You know, besides the awesome reviews, one thing to make the braking tests look more interesting is to have a foot cam to show how the pedals are being played with, considering the last blooper compilation where the braking tests are introduced.
That bolstering test though 😍
Agree, for car fans it's nice to have some kind of visual cue to differentiate one trim level from another.
Great video Sarah, I agree it should called the Celica Supra. I had the Celica Supra you show but black 2.0 auto great car.
Sarah has no clue how Incredibly Brilliant she is! Another honest review that's not available anywhere else! Top Job!
I totally agree on bringing a Celica, creating more value for the Supra 2.0. We could see both cars getting popular, just like the Stinger is at the moment. I think the Supra 2.0 is freaking cool, an odd ball that will pickup value. Cause they won't sell that many.
Hi Sarah - i program radio stations in the vehicle and memorize which is which, good for me. AND ! really like your accentuation in your videos. 😁
Programmable dash buttons: I use them! Have the same ones in my M235i.
Did you gey it?
I originally owned an SX 1990 Celica and currently have a 2001 ZR Celica (Australia). I would love it if Toyota resurrected the Celica nameplate, on the correct type of car of course. Great concept idea.
I'm starting a band tonight called Fly Pee, look for it on no ones streaming platform.
Sounds too mainstream, go metal and call it Dragon Fly Pee'd
Honest car reviews 😍 love you boo! 🌈
Ach zo! Baader Mainhof Wagen, ja? Nice car, though. Fantastic review again, Sarah!
I love it That Toyota Supra 2.0T Is Faster Than a VW Golf R or Mercedes AMG A45S
Fun fact- that’s the same engine in the 15+ mini JCW! Pops and bangs and all
Great review, love the Celtic out fit.
The fact that the engine is that far back will do great for handling. This thing would make a nice track car. And the lightness and the cheaper price tag would open it up for tuning and some extras
Sarah, nobody will look at the wheels when you place yourself in the frame like that...
Great review, enjoying the content.
Toyota should use this video to sell this car. Excellent!
or they could just give me one and ill keep it for the rest of my life, lol
I would love to see you do a car review on the 2022 lexus scGR F1 otherwise know as the sc300 or sc400, Sarah don't forget about this one, love your content you are amazing
Loving your vids in the UK! Would love your next project to be a steaga or Celica GT4 or corolla rally spec
Sarah you spicy beauty! I'm going through you're videos laughing, throughly enjoying them. Keep em coming! 👍🏻
My option would be a modern 3JZ with a very high rev limit and 6 speed manual.
No turbo required.
Flawless power delivery with reliability.
Can't wait to here you review the 400z
Nice review! I like the idea of the Celica version. My Toyota has awd and a 296 hp v-6 and room for 7 !
Something like a shootingbreak Like that z3 or z4 estate thing from a while back I think it was called a clown shoe or something like that , a 2+2 would be a good option too. Loving the reviews and looking forward to the variety of cars you will be working on too. Hi to little Sarah and the baby sister too. JX
Agree with your thinking, distinguish a different style with 4 cyl vs 6.
And interior parts generally don’t break or fall off, as those inside Euro-metal all-too-often do…
As for ‘sealed for life’ gearboxes - such absolute bollox!
Another great car review Sarah, enough said.
