  • Bhujangasana is the relaxation pose for all exercises performed on
    the stomach. It opens up the shoulders and neck. Tones the abdomen.
    Strengthens the entire back and shoulders. Improves flexibility of
    the upper and middle back. Today in our 'Yoga & You' Keerthana from
    Rutland Gate Studio explains us how to do Bhujangasana.

    I can do basic Bhujangasana, but 1:56 is something else just looks very PERFECT....: Interesting how your face is almost parallel to the ceiling while the shoulders are straight.
    I will try to do this asana in this way and form. This pose at 1:56 will greatly strengthen your upper back by strengthening neck, upper back cervical area, shoulders etc. Just an outstanding pose that can fix all upper/mid back issues, improve digestion, thyroid issues etc. I will probably need somebody else to supervise while I try this pose to ensure I am doing it the right way and form.     She is naturally flexible. I watched few of her asanas on Ventuno Yoga. Many tough asanas are quite easy for her. Her hands are getting bent from elbows in opposite direction unlike others. She has unusual body. She is more than perfect and so she is not useful to follow other wise we might injured us. She should be giving extensive preparatory steps and variety of techniques to reach the final pose instead of just giving a demonstration of final pose. She should be giving more technicality in making body parts flexible by performing and demonstrating preparatory steps. No doubt that all her asanas are very well done but it is more like a show off to the audience. She is not conveying a real knowledge of how audience can learn and reach to the final pose of Asanas. She could do a great job to the audience if she really breaks the show off shell and willing to share a real knowledge otherwise her videos are great to watch but practically no use. Also, a little smile would not hurt instead of super serious face.

    Could anybody from Ventuno Yoga who is above 40 years of age do exactly the same way Bhujangasana which is showed in this video. Bhujanga means Snake/Cobra. Do really Snakes bend backward like this?

    Hi Keerthana, I've been doing Bhujangasana for around 1 month now. But I feel that entire bodyweight is falling on my forearms during the final pose. Is there anything wrong I am doing?

      Hi Kirti, please check with your personal trainer. If you have back pain its better to avoid chakrasana because its advanced back bend.     Please reduce the music. N also tell in more detail. Arching upper back is not so easy. I can do camal pose but I'm bhujanasana ur lower body is kinda dead.
