    Great video, thank you. Also, I’d recommend using twisted pair speaker wire because the gauge isn’t the only important factor. If you use non twisted wiring, the wires act like an antennas and pick up interference from electrical in the house; which degrades the sound quality.
    I’ve not only heard the difference, I used to be a repair tech and have seen the diagnostic difference it undeniably makes. So why spend money on quality speakers and buy cheap wires that will impact sound quality? It wouldn’t make sense to do that.

    There is no discussion about having a speaker cabinet/enclosure around the speaker for sound quality enhancement. I am very surprised that wasn't discussed among the top ten things

    Hello, how would you connect total of four 8 ohm speakers to a two channels of 8 ohm amp, two speakers per channel. If I go in series I end up with 16 ohms load, parallel end up with 4 ohms.
    (Not a sonos amp)
    Also you mentioned that ceiling can not be wired in some certain way, which out of the two I mentioned they can not be wired, thx

    Great video and very helpful! Can the Sonos in-ceiling speakers be used on an outdoor patio? They won't get wet, but it's very humid in the summer so there will be moisture. I'm also concerned about sound travel to the neighbors using the outdoor speakers where the in-ceiling would be firing straight down. I have older speakers already installed in patio ceiling that I can swap out. Thank you!

      Hi Josh, the Sonos in-ceiling speakers are not weatherproof rated so shouldn't be used outdoors. You can get waterproof ceiling speakers which are suitable for all-year-round weathers such as the Monitor audio AWC265s or the Bowers & Wilkins Marine series. Hope this helps!

    informative. I get it, sonos sponsors you, However, who the hell can afford a sonos system? $1200 for an amp alone? Wow! Lets come back down to earth for those of us who are on a budget and looking to amplify maybe four - six, 8 inch speakers in a large kitchen.

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  3 года назад +2

      Thank you for watching. We are not in any way sponsored by Sonos - we are simply a reseller of Sonos products wanting to help people find the right system on RUclips as we are also aware Sonos is the most popular multi-room system when powering ceiling speakers. Please note the price of the Sonos Amp is £599 and you can amplify up to 6 Sonos in-ceiling speakers or 4 non-Sonos ceiling speakers on the same Amp if required. I hope this helps!

      1) Signal reliability through walls/ceilings would be troublesome. 2) You’re going to have to wire them, anyways. Speaker wire is much safer (and easier) than running power.
