    If I am putting ceiling speakers in my living room, why would I want left and right speakers vs. a mono speaker? Wouldn’t it sound weird if a speaker in one side of the room is playing half the music and the speaker on the other side is playing the other half?
    I’m looking for a good setup for my home. I want to install about 2 speakers per room, inside and outside.
    What would be your suggestion?

    I have added 4 x monitor audio ceiling speakers in my multimedia room, and they are phenomenal. Listening to high fidelity music and/or anything is the best sound I have ever had. Top notch, without question and I have installed and listened to many..

    I have a question on stereo. The recommendation is to set them up as stereo speakers if room is big enough - but surely this would mean that as you move around the room you would hear either the right or left side. If you are setting up for a kitchen extension where multiple people are moving around - would it not make sense to use mono speakers?

      Hi there, thanks for watching. I'd recommend 4 decent quality speakers in that size room. Bowers & Wilkins do a great variety of options to accommodate ambient listening all the way up to high volumes at really good price points. You could start your search at the CCM665s for £315 a pair and work forward or backwards from that depending on budget. Reach out to us if you'd like any further advice.

    for main tv media set use proper stereo setup 5.1 surround,my main concern is proper placement
    i want stereo speakers either directly above the sofa or front firing ones
    for bathroom I think putting separate pair for toiletries would be best & for kitchen fm radio tuner would suffice me
    but people looking at ceilings actually want audio in every room everywhere considered like disco bar setup

Would you advice for 3 pairs of 6,5 “ in ceiling speakers, 2 pairs of 8” or even 3 pairs of 8”? I intend to have a 10 or 12” subwoofer on the floor too. Thanks!

    I have passive ceiling speakers that were put in about 15 years ago. I don't know if they are wired correctly, however, they used to work. Do you know of a midrange (price wise) bluetooth / wireless amplifier that I could look into? It appears the wires from the speaker where all brought to a switch panel which took its input from the amplifier. So you could push the switch for room 1 and 2 but not rooms 3 and 4. I hope that makes sense? thoughts on how to bring this back to life? Also it looks like they used monster cable so what happens if crossed the terminals somewhere along the way? Sorry so many questions, but it would be great to get them working again.

    3:29 : “...3 screws that you screw into the ceiling , then once it’s up you need to undo these clamps and then they sit...” I thought the screws controlled the clamps and the clamps squeezed the rim of the speaker against the drywall. When you say “screw into the ceiling,” do you actually mean you’re screwing into the drywall that close to the edge of the hole?

    • @JosephByrne
      @JosephByrne 2 года назад +1

      The screws turn the feet which secure it to the ceiling. You don't screw anything into the plasterboard.

      How much does your company charge to (as an example) cut out the holes, mount the speakers to the ceiling, and route the cables to a receiver? I already have a 5.1, but would love a 5.2.4...I just need the ceiling speakers installed

    is it possible to pair 6 of those in ceilings with 1 sonos amp?

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  5 лет назад

      Hi Anthony. Sonos have since released a statement outlining that you can only install 6 ceiling speakers on the Amp if you are using Sonos ceiling speakers. Any other brands, the maximum would be 4 per single Amp to avoid any strain on the Amp. Hope this helps!

    • @B3ASTM0D3.
      @B3ASTM0D3. 4 года назад

      It all depends on the current draw of the speakers. All 6 can not supersede the max continuous output of the amplifier.

    4:06 It was stated that "active" speakers do not need speaker wires, only power. This is not accurate as you still need to deliver signal (the music) from the source. There is no such thing as a wireless install.
    Active speakers have the advantage of eliminating the need for heavier wire and a powders head unit/receiver.

    • @nickmartinz9917
      @nickmartinz9917 4 года назад

      I won't say it doesn't exist, only that I've never seen it. Plus you would be limited in the number of speakers. Bluetooth 5.0 supports only 2 simultaneously connected devices (I think) while earlier versions did not.

    For a company that does home audio the sound is absolutely terrible on that RUclips clip, with the sound bouncing off every hard surface, making it nearly unwatchable, this is not a great advert for your company, as you need to do better.

    @smarthomesounds, what is the brand and model of the speaker you reffered to at 11:17? Is there a possibility to install surface mount speakers when there is no void in the ceiling? Are there any speakers you would recommend to fit such scenario?
