    Will be nice potentially in 2024 when sonos releases the much needed arc 2.0 better updates & full dolby atmos. The original arc us still awesome but can be better . Just don't over spend on sonos like i did lol, but i don't regret it but my neighbors hate it, when there walls flex & vibrate.

    Cool Video, I've been on Sonos Bandwagon going on 7 years, 3 different setups arc, sub & era300
    Sound is incredible for cost not too mention Wireless. If you're reading this & on the fence about Sonos ,, give your ears the sound it deserves, u won't be sorry. Avoid the cost up front. Well worth it. Sonos for life.

    What if i want to connect 8 or even 12 speakers. Do I need a amplifier for every 4?
    if that's the case, can they all be used to play same source at the same time?
    Can all amplifiers can be synced?
    thanks in advanced.

      What if i want to connect 8 or even 12 speakers. Do I need a amplifier for every 4? - officially yes, but could push to six maybe...
      if that's the case, can they all be used to play same source at the same time? they can all be synced up very easily or play separate. it's works great.
      Can all amplifiers can be synced? yes and you can even sync all amps, soundbars and subs you have in your house if you want... or have all separate, as well as control the volume on each on separately or all together. it works great

    So the speakers have a bit of weight to them.. are just the plaster board on the ceiling strong enough to hold their weight without anything to brace it to take the load from one of the timber joists/rafters?

    Sonos doesn’t make in ceiling speakers. Those are sonance. A fully independent speaker company that teamed up with sonos. You can use any in ceiling speaker on the planet with sonos amps.

    Hi great video, thank you. I noticed you have both speakers wired under the same terminals. Up to how many speakers can you fit on there? If you want a multi zone speaker setup would you just have to buy more amps?

    • @FamilyDIYtv
      @FamilyDIYtv  2 месяца назад +1

      Correct- Each zone would be a separate amp. I’d say two speakers per wire. If you wanted to push it could do three.

    I am building my house and we wanted this Sonos speakers, the space is 40x20ft, how many should we install? Also if I want to play music on music in the kitchen with 2 speakers, and then only play the sound from the the tv in another 2 in the living room, then I need 2 separate amps?

    • @FamilyDIYtv
      @FamilyDIYtv  Год назад +3

      Is the tv in that same space ? If yes. I’d install arc soundbar under tv and sub.
      Then install 4 or 6 ceiling speakers on a separate amp.
      Yes each “zone” needs an amp.
      But the arc would be a zone and the 4/6 speakers connected to the amp would be a zone.

    • @feramis19
      @feramis19 Год назад

      Thank you! The 20x40ft space will have a tv in the living room. As you said I can use the arc for the tv. I was thinking maybe 2 in ceiling speakers and 1 amp for the kitchen, then 2 in ceiling and 1 amp for the back of the living room. And arc for the front of the living room by the tv. What cable do I need for the in ceiling? I found the one you used, but you also say that there maybe a better one? Any recommendations? Also the arc doesn’t need to be hardwire right? And can arc and 1 of them amps play sound at the same time? I was thinking in using the 2 in ceiling speakers as “surround sound” in combination with arc.

      @@FamilyDIYtvI wish they would come out with a way to select which speakers you want to play that are on a single amp. Like a zone within a zone. I was going to install 6 Sononce speakers on an amp (2 in family room above couch, 2 in kitchen, 2 on sundeck/patio), and use that for music and watching TV. Sadly learned that would mean if using the sonance speakers for TV, then that would be heard everywhere there’s a speaker on that amp, at the same volume.
      Now, going to go with a Sonos arc and sub and maybe some Sonos ones.
      Any other options to still leverage in-ceiling speakers without getting a separate amp?

    • @FamilyDIYtv
      @FamilyDIYtv  Год назад +1

      @@g.thandi824 I hear ya. You could still do what you want but run the speaker wires through an additional switch. So you can “manually” (physically). Turn of which zone you want. I think they also make Bluetooth switches. Google speaker selector switch.

    • @g.thandi824
      @g.thandi824 Год назад

      @@FamilyDIYtv that’s such a simple yet super smart idea. Thank you! Before that, I was thinking I could go to the amp and disconnect the speakers I didn’t want to be playing - lmao. Was thinking of wall mounting the amp in the pantry in the kitchen (family room and kitchen are in the same area). Is there any advantage that I am missing to having the amp by the TV? Also, how high are your ceilings? Mine are only 8 foot in this section of the house (total space of family room and kitchen is about 14’ wide by 32’ long) - so going back and forth with whether in ceiling speakers could ultimately be overkill vs just an Arc and sub.

    great review. Why not go bluetooth?

    • @FamilyDIYtv
      @FamilyDIYtv  Год назад

      Been there done that. Sonos works way better and a lot better performance, meaning connection. But does cost $$$. Only downside.
      Also Bluetooth speakers need power ran to them.
      Sonos just needs small
      Speaker wire.

    Can you volume up or down separately?? I mean if u want turn of speakers in living room but make louder in kitchen or otherwise. Can u do it?? I want install speakers in whole house but if I am sitting in one room i don’t need play music in whole 3 story house. That’s why I am looking for specific receiver.

    • @FamilyDIYtv
      @FamilyDIYtv  5 месяцев назад

      you can control each amp separately. So if your living room has AMP and kitchen has another amp, then yes. But if all on same amp, no.

    Did you ever do the Arc integration video? Did you set up the ceiling speakers as 5.1 system surrounds? If so, do movies sound strange when you're in the kitchen since you only get the surround channels? I assume music is fine since you'd get two-channel stereo?

    • @FamilyDIYtv

      I have not setup the arc yet- I’ll be doing that in the fall(project got postponed-lol)

      It’s 100 percent loud enough, but probably should have went with six. Reason being during parties it nice to have the speakers lower but more of them. Fills the space with music without it being to loud where you can’t have a conversation…. I’d always go more, like lights. Can always turn down or dim(in case of lights).
