too many negative comments yes brian sang this the best but hands up to andy for hiring quality musicians keeping sweet alive.the current sweet line up is totally amazing with singer paul manzi cant wait to see them again in december 23
Brian Connolly was the only person who could sing this. His voice was golden, pure, and possessed of so much feeling and emotion, no other can emulate him.
I agree with you there rosanna. Its Lisa again. Brian Collonally is the soul 😇 of the sweet. No one can ever replace our late original legend Brian Collonally the best 😍 Scottish front man 🎤 ever. RIP Brian Collonally, 🎤 RIP Mick Tucker, 🥁 RIP Steve priest 🎸 bless their souls 😇😢 will always be missed from all of us sweet fans hearts ❤️💕 forever and never Unforgotten from all of us sweet fans out there world wide 🌍 xxx ❤️😍🎶🎤🥁🎸🎸🤘.
Brian is Sweet, no one can or ever will be replace him and everyone who tries like this dude is just karaoke to me. Its nice but not the real deal ! Its like Yoko Ono sings hotel California..... The real deal, or nothing.....
Mick Tucker's playing is amazing here. He sounds spectacular. Honestly, I cannot figure out why he isn't better known as one of the best drummers of his age. He deserves the accolades.
Look, we all miss Brian's voice, but take, for a moment, this version of Sweet on its own merits. This band is an absolute machine. I don't know that either Andy or Mick have _ever_ played better. Paul Mario Day (vox), Mal McNulty (bass) and Phil Lanzon (keys) are absolutely phenomenal musicians, and their chemistry in this format is undeniable. After the classic Sweet's nearly unlistenable final years and Andy's misguided voyage into solo Glen Frey territory (Krugerrands), I, for one, am happy that this return to form for one of rock's true pioneering guitarists and and staggeringly good drummers happened at all. So, quit yer bitching and just enjoy :)
The final of oxygen song it feels outstanding in their live improvisation performance at marquee stage a celebration to their gifts in music B Connolly, M Tucker,S Priest Rip must say bravo bravo Bravissimo ☆☆☆☆☆
Lieber Mick ! Jutta
No one has the charm Brian had.His mellow personality and voice were very unique. I think Mick was the best drummer in the world. The original four members had a special energy. It wasn't the same after Brian and Steve left.Whoever the singer is in this video, doesn't fit in.It's not just his voice but his style as well. The keyboards in this performance sounded great.
I agree Brain had a rock vocal like no other at the time but what to do. He ain't coming back so I think the next best thing is keeping the music out there and alive. I do think they need to keep looking for a better vocalist in the same spirit as Brain though but it must be hard at the same time. The keyboards sound very 80s.
@Myrddin Wyllt Yes nobody will ever sing like Brian did. He had an angel voice 👌 R.I.P. Brian, Mick and Steve No one can replace one of these fantastic guys 🎤🥁🎸♥️
Favorite version of this song. Rode the Greyhound bus to Texas to see my father in 91 and jammed this on my Walkman cassette the whole three days down from Philly
okay the dude wasn't great and didn't fit in, but did Anyone but Me, get Sweet's Phenomenal rendition of ELP's "Fanfare For The Common Man" (RIP Keith Emerson) in the middle of the keyboard breakdown?!! that really blew me away just now!!
Thanks , i search so hard for the Instrumental from ELP...its so hard to find, because no one has this in the usual "best instrumental " compilations, although its so often used in TV or Radio
Yes! Nobody will ever sing like Brian did 🎤🎶❤ He was the best frontman ever! R.I.P. Brian, Mick and Steve. You guys keep on rocking and having fun together where ever you are 👍💕
I’m a big big fan, was around as a 13 year old when poppa joe etc were out. Yes The original band were great but this version is awesome, n don’t care what anyone says, this is amazing 😁👍
It seems there is? Anyway, I know people don’t want to hear other voices than the original and that’s understandable but I think this is a pretty good version without Brian.
Brian is Sweet ! Sweet is nothing without Brian..... There is only 1 Sweet.....?are you ready Steve...? Andy....? Mick.....? And only Brian was the only front man who could ask that ☝️just the 4 of them could do this. Imagine Yoko Ono sings Paradise by the dashboard light for God sake....NO ! Brian is the most underrated front man ever !
As a former pro musician, things that make me laugh about this performance: 0:27 : Andy rushes the crap out of the main riff. Mick looks annoyed, but follows; 1:23 to 7:12: Mick takes control and establishes the proper tempo and an amazing groove; 7:13: Andy comes back in like a bull in a china shop, way too fast. 7:19: Mick comes in at Andy's tempo; the look on his face says it all.
Just went back for another look, you're so right about Mick trying to rein Andy in ... but tbh, Andy was always a hog for attention even in the early days, imo.
Was that Steve Priest on keyboard? Fantastic performance. Sweet have a new album out called Isolation Boulevard. Andy Scott has found a great lead singer. Drummer is brilliant and they sound good.
Excelente sonido. 👏👏simplemente perfecto hard rock y heavy metal
One of the MOST underrated bands there ever was!
And this song is one of the best songs ever written and played - this version, the long version.
RIP Mick Tucker, Brian Connolly & Steve Priest. Grew up loving this band. No other Sweet.

I agree but I didn't want to band to die at that point. Brian was cursed. And a great singer.
I disagree. This singer gives it justice. Not superb, but decent.
@@PatrickZiggy I think it is a case similar to that of Freddy Mercuri. A very difficult category to match.

Yes. What a voice!!! Just a wonderful song. I knew it was great the first time heard it in 1978. And havibg fun performing.
Mick and Andy great but vocals, not so much
I really like this up tempo faster pace version than the slower studio recording, this rocks...
Great music! British created so many great bands. "Love is like oxygen" is one of greatest songs of all time.
Fantastic, beautiful song.
What a great song. It's very effective in it's layers of sound and it's just great on a lot of levels!!

Hell yeah. We should be grateful for even being able to listen to it.
Right on point with your comments mate , had to go research Krugerrands, holy fuck I'm glad I missed that in 1984, never heard it here in Australia😆

Gracias.
I saw this on television in 1986, and never thought I'd see it again. Thank you for posting this!
