This is AWESOME!!!!!!! 😃🥇🏁🏆
"no damage to the bales i don't think"
- best line of the day
27:00
Do we know what caused the crash? It looked like the front wheels were not linked, but that was after the crash so we can't be sure if that was cause or effect.
That's possibly the best 51mins and 49secs of motorsports I have watched so far this year. Thanks for sharing it with us. Brilliant
Stuart Hamilton You must've missed Le Mans this year ;)
Yepp, slept all the way through.
Stuart Hamilton Too true
Stuart Hamilton Here! Here! Totally agree!
I love Goodwood, everything about it. Never fails to produce the best competitive motorsport every year. Just awesome.
Still one of my favorite videos on RUclips. All these amazing cars in one place!! Man I wanna go to Goodwood!!
Yes
The first guy was really going for it.
He must have huge balls to push that coffin on wheels.
Justin Law (J) Jaguar XJR12D 46.13
Jeremy Smith (F) Penske-Chevrolet PC22 46.22
Mark Higgins (M) Subaru WRX STI 48.25
Anthony Reid (J) Arrinera Hussarya GT3 48.28
Nick Heidfeld (F) Mahindra M4Electro 48.59
It's cool that they put the time like usually before
Brings me back to my childhood. We had a long paved drive with a turn around in back..We had lines painted along the bushes..On the opposite end, we had sharp narrow turns through more bushes out to the front walk.. Then back up the straight-away..All on Bigwheels! Burned up alot of front wheels..had lots of fun..Naturally we watched racing on TV..
Thanks for reuploading! I was halfway through and was sad when I saw it was gone.
I'm really enjoying this! Not finished yet ;-) Thank you so much for this wonderful and historical show of such epic and important vehicles of our past...the grandfathers and grandmothers of our present day cars.
But I wanted to also say; I really like some of these drivers who are driving the old cars from the 30's. The reason is, they seem to be going for it. You can really see some driving skill...they honor the cars they drive!
In order to run this series I suspect one has to be rich. No problem - that's all good!! But I know some of these types, and most of them can't drive their way quickly out of a parking lot!!! For those of you watching that DO know how to drive; you know, poor average guys like me who have raced and gone to pro driving schools and have done quite well, but just not the funds to realize your dream...I say, don't despair; for what it's worth, I believe you have what it takes - I know you're out there (because I'm not alone) and truth be told, I'm one - and oh so frustrated. You know. the guys that have the skills but not the bucks! This is one of my great frustrations in life. Instead I went on to become a very accomplished musician and composer - I'm totally okay with that - in fact, I love it!. But lord knows, I have an intense passion for motor sports, always have, and this video grabs my by the Skoda ;-). So what the heck am I going on about? Just seems like some of these guys in this wonderful video, have raisins for balls. (Yes I know the cars are expensive and precious so I understand). But really, a Benetton that can't take 1st? Or a Ferrari Daytona that can't place? Listen to when the Daytona driver gets on the gas coming out of a turn...sounds to me like he's looking for a parking place... ;-) lol To Goodwood Road & Racing team, thank you so much for such an inspirational and fantastic automotive video!!! Just had to vent a little since I'm just a wanna be ;-( -But damn, I sure can play piano! ... :-) ...hey, know what? So could Gilles Villeneuve - better believe baby!! ;-)
THESE VIDEOS IS WHY I LOVE RUclips. THANK YOU SIR FOR THIS VIDEO YOU ARE AMAZING
I love this so much every year.
Awesome, simply awesome ! Magnificient machines driven by all sorts of gentlemen, many of them older amateur chaps, fighting mitely only for the honor in good, friendly humor ! And what about the "humble" Subaru - compared with those older but hugely more expensive hyper race cars ! Good show, Subaru ! And, oh !, the Jaguar driver deserves fully his win. What a drive ! Most impressive !
Awesome race!!!! Thanks for the upload!!!
This was AWESOME!!! Thanks for posting.
Congratulations to Justin for winning, but my favourite has to have been the Bugatti Type 35B, well driven and huge steel balls right there.
its amazing GP cars use to have the same size tyres most mountain bikes have now
Goodwood ,,, you got the good race vidz ... Thks ... Dave ...
and a Jaguar wins it for Britain ... Well done ... Thks ... D ...
Here's waiting in Sarawak, Borneo Island. Love it!
Arrinera!
Kuba W. I was sad they stopped plans for their road car
Thanks for the fresh upload. This was fantastic!
Absolutely amazing!
It´s great! - this track really rewards driver courage and skill more than anything - can´t really utilize all the downforce for those cars that have it and can´t use all the power either.
And Extra Thumps Up for J. Majzub (35) in the blue Bentley - a hell of a drive and time for that car.
thank you!!
Yes I can now watch it, thanks for new upload😄
Anthony Reid have totally nailed that run.
i went out drinking and have returned to this video ..... im very happy about watching the rest of it ...... am i a boomer?
Rest in peace Henry I’m sure there will be something special for you this year at the festival
Nothing beats the XJR12 💪💪
Anyone noticed that the number for the subaru was 555? Absolutely awesome way to pay tribute to colin mcrae!
LeftyMonster 555 was the sponser at the time
Thank you very much!
Always love to see the FORD RS 200...THATS MY BIRTHDAY ULTIMATE
literally ,,, the heart and soul of racing !!! Well done ... " Definitely " ,,, got gear oil pumping through your veins ... thanks ... Dave ...
Ty Goodwood 😘
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is Awesome.
love it!
Legend of Zolder 24:33
That Subaru STI.....I raise my glass for you...
Es hat mir gefallen!
12:12
Gorgeous machine
I love this! What channel can you watch this on ?
Short narrow track suited the Subaru more than all the others.
Goodwood and racing are you posting all 4 days of good wood festival of speed 2017?
@43:43min you can see Nick Heidfeld across the finish line with a 48.23 sec run but Nick Heidfeld some how still loses to A. Reid (Reid's time 48.28) with supposedly a 48.59 run.
What's up with their timing equipment at Goodwood??
I saw many cars cross the "Finish Line" but the timer kept going after they've crossed.
WTH? where is the real finish line at?
PC Stuff that’s just a little lag with the timing, if you watch they all do it and the finish line is where it says finish
times were determined by how well they cleared that chicane. many were braking too early
@Pete is never wrong it was obviously and clearly the biggest one
we're all relieved the formula E car didn't come out on top
Web crawler I'd be glad if it did. It would mean they are at least fast, which they aren't.
Web crawler Even more delighted that a 90s Jaguar won the whole thing
Pilkie101- It still is fast though just not fast enough to win .Give it a few years and electric cars are going to be smoking petrol cars. Keep in my mind that this the infancy of electric racing.
formula E cars are built for slow, tight bumpy circuits like this, its only a matter of time!
fuck your biases; a well-built, fast car is a well-built fast car, regardless of fuel type
The last guy is really trying to beat that time 🤣
One of the pleasures of going to Goodwood is HEARING the cars especially at the start of the runs. Can we have a little less babbling please.
Great but where are the full day videos...
I want to go to thid event so bad...
Electric car
.. Indian Oil sponsership
Baby steps
buenos contrarreloges
I was actually quite impressed by the formula-e car
Why don't we have this stuff in the U.S. All we have are some fat guys in impalas, going around a street at 20mph.
does anyone know why the older cars have so much positive camber?
17:00 what car is that? Beautiful looks and awesome sound!
That is Nick Mason's 1979 Ferrari 512 BB LM. Annette (the woman who drove it) is his wife.
The factual inaccuracy of the commentary ruined this for me
I think if it werent for the launch of the PC22 that2nd to last car he would have had it.
oh man, this is carporn!
3:14 sounds like a locomotive omg
Why does it have to be dales car that crashes
Ciekawe czy konstruktorzy Arrinery dadzą ją zrecenzować panu Jackowi :)
I was suprised to se the ford galaxy 500
26:58 I knew it`s comin` ;) Nascar and RIGHT turn? LOL
Darth Banji xD
Darth Banji I know right xD
NASCAR drives on road courses....maybe you're just a bit lost or behind the times? Indy/Nascar drivers are most diverse in the world, driving the most varied courses...F1 drivers can only drive road courses and have no clue on anything but that....why is that? Ooops!
1:28 pumping fuel manually? WTF..
That blue Bugatti was absolutely mind blowing
Yeah I thinking the same thing watching it go up the hill, what a machine for its age
Awesome drive too, those skinny tires and the huge bus steering wheel lol. Amazing car.
man I think the same and congratulations for the aweosome driver too, what a beast
Yeah it was awesome. I also liked the red fiat.
I think I read somewhere that the Type 35 was the most successful racecar ever. This run would explain that
That Type 35 had an insane run. Best of the lot by far, followed by the 275.
acalthu the Lola 70 (I think?) Had an incredible run as well
Lola T70*
agreed, exciting run. Balls of steel to drive one of those like that
Right ? Ana amazing driver, driving the shit out of that decades old car, was the m,sot imprressive run to me.
@@SeeWorldKevin I think the best way to describe this is, the Bugatti Type 35 had an insane run, despite its age, the Ferrari 275 GTB as well, despite its value (big thumbs up to the owner for going "right, I'd like to see my car do what it does best"), and the Can-Am Lola T70, despite the fact that it is rather unsuitable for hillclimb courses...
You know your run is very quick if the other drivers let out a collective Oh! at 16:33 . That's an incredible run for a 90 year old car from Mr. Majzub!
Of the pre-war cars, some of the cars that could have set WAY faster times were:
8:11 The Bugatti type 59 GP
9:01 Alfa Romeo Tipo B P3 - my favourite racing car, had excellent torque at low revs, that explains how it ate up the time deficit at the steeper part of the hill,
6:11 and the Mercedes Benz W125 - it is the most powerful GP car until the 1980s turbo F1 cars, with 650BHP! so what do you expect of it?
Being polish I´m so proud that the Arrinera Hussarya GT3 performed so well! Also a big applause to Anthony Reid! Absolutely fantastic!
Hussarya zrobiła robotę :)
What? Who? You guys built a car? I thought Poland was only into old BMW M cars
Anthony reid is a legend
I'm almost in tears watching this, knowing that we'll never hear the dulcet tones of Henry Hope Frost in the commentary box ever again.
He was such a natural, and such a knowledgeable expert.
RIP Henry.
Julian Majzub, what a driver!!
The first guy was really going for it.
He must have huge balls to push that coffin on wheels.
@@doghunter3447 he pushed it like he was going for the win at Brooklands in that thing
22:29 "yeah? Oh, good!"... that old fella sure can drive!
16:45 they way he drove that Bugatti!!
Right ?
Yay it's not 4fps.
Such an awesome event, I love seeing so many different styles of cars, and drivers with vastly different backgrounds. That Bugatti stole the show.
empire nice profile pic
Bugatti type 35B... 140bhp, 750kg, 61.29s
Here : 15:25
The Aston Marton that won Le Mans this year 2017 in GT is... 58.14s
Here : 30:24
Here it came down to the superb driver in the Bugatti who went all out
even the comentators as he was lining up prefaced him by saying "this is going to be mighty!"
Aston Martin's run starts at 29:23
Can y'all upload the full days like you did in the past?
Mr Higgins in the STI had the best run. He got all he could out of that beast.
subarus are truly amazing machines
The Bugatti 35 was something really special..very well driven!
Who cares about le man cars and super cars, whene guys that drives cars with bicycle wide tires, they have balls of steel.. i Watch those cars Before anything els...
The first guy especially seemed to be giving it almost 100%.
They really have massive balls to race those coffins with wheels.
That Bugatti!
Makes me wonder at what point did the car-makers and thinkers realize wider tires would be a massive help in performance?
@@arj290 well once you start getting power numbers up in the 600s and more, wider tires are needed otherwise you would have almost no grip. Those super cars, f1 cars and Le Mans cars are running power figures in the 1000s. Those older race cars are only in the 100s and they weigh nothing so wide tires are not needed.
The cars with the manual fuel pumps, those take dedication!
Thanks for listening to us.. Love you back!!
Ruelle D'silva iiiii
Ruelle D'silva I think is the most watch video 😭😭
Absolutely wonderful display of cars and drivers. This was beyond entertaining. Couldn't take my eyes off the entire time.
Heart stopping!
sounds like sebulba podracer in Star Wars@2:56
hehe good one:)
I watched the live stream all weekend. What great entertainment. Maybe someday I'll go in person. Goodwood FOS really is one of a kind.
best car event period
I only found out about it til afterward :C
Welp, looks like I get to look forward to the next one :D
thank you for the re-upload. coverage over the weekend was first class, well done to all involved 👍
Julian Majzub is my hero :D
balls of steel, no seatbelt, open cockpit. just amazing
Watched this with my kid now I'm signing him up for go karting. Thanks for holding these events and streaming them for free!
I have to win the lotto then im gonna have 10 kids. 5 will be racers (cause if one dies ill still have four (bad joke i know)) 3 will be fighters and two I will ignore and they will probably turn to drugs
How'd it go with your kids Karting career
I seriously think the the Indy car can do a 44. That was a very scruffy lap and it had mechanical problems to boot.
I would say the indy car just didn't have enough heat in the tires since they basically have no grip when tires are cold
Hero of the racetrack J. Majzub !!! Amazing driver!!
Ear porn: @6:14, @10:14, @19:50, @22:33, @40:13, @45:45
concordo
Agree with all of them, but you cant forget about 41:22
thank you lol. i was looking for that jaguar
4:35 Some say he sleeps with his eyes open and petrol runs trough his veins. Al we know is, they call him the Stig.Oh wait..Collings..Collins...what is this mockery?
16:23 Elton Johns brother?
33:32 too. It;s polish supercar.
26:48 when youve never turned right before
Haha
Yeah... he took that corner WAY TOO FAST... Those things dont have that kind of grip....
@jackson7177 yet NASCAR's beat the so called track cars...lol... dumb Ass..🤭
Jeremy Smith (F) Penske-Chevrolet PC22 47:15 too bad he was in trouble with the car at the beggining, remove that and he win .
1:26 "Yeah, they're pumping fuel" :D lol
Amazing NASCARS raped half the field. Jaguar was amazing, BUT that Subaru STI with a sloppy run still killed GT cup cars (Porsche). That STI run was EPIC!
Sloppy yet still manage to be a Top 3, run with the best Group C & Formula,
not to shabby mate!
*Stock Cars Sorry I gotta :P
I know right? :D I was surprised, you're always used to just seeing them run round an oval :P
So I wonder what actually happened to the one that got into the bales.
I'm glad that Nascar trash cans were raped by the polish Arrinera.
Nascars raped half the field because that half of the field was from the 40s
The comments spoils the sound of the cars.... pity...pity...pity!!!!!!
when ur 70 years old and faster in an old ferrari than a full on race car :D love this
For anyone wondering, the NASCAR at 26:40 had a break in its pitman arm as the brakes were applied and as a result it lost steering.
Also it was turning left. But for real, mechanical failure.
left.
I think he did pushed a bit too much until it was too late to break. He left the depart line like a bullet... :)
that yellow and blue ferrari 11 min in is the best sounding car of the weekend
Complete not important this comments. Please stop immediately and let us enjoy the sound of this beautyfull cars!!!!
