    I love your recipes and the way you explain them. One of my favorite things you do is when you kind of swoop down and come up at CG and add a comment. It makes me smile every time. I read someone's comment that you "make their saturdays" and I couldn't agree more!! God bless you and beautiful camera girl and may we be blessed with many more of your videos. Also, looking forward to more traveling videos. Its so awesome watching you do your magic in random spaces and making the best of what is around.

      Thanks...that's a super kind comment...we really appreciate you watching. I've got a few more Mexico vids to edit together, and I still visit the Trustedhousesitters site everyday looking for places we might apply for a house sit, but we're pretty limited on the range that we're interested in traveling nowadays. We've actually got a week-long housesit coming up in a October, but it's just a short drive away from where we're currently staying...it'll make a nice change of scenery though.

    Worcestershire Sauce is my secret weapon in the war against boring food. Thanks, CB and CG! I love cabbage, and I will definitely pick up some canned corned beef and give this recipe a try. As a single person, I'm always looking for savory concoctions I can cook in quantity, refrigerate, and stretch over several meals. BTW, Camera Girl, I also nosh on the cabbage core while prepping!

      I don't get the cabbage core thing...it's CG's favorite part of a cabbage and she'll lean against the counter and eat it raw like she's at the county fair eating a treat

      Just a tip from the UK - Add the Worcestershire Sauce to the corned beef and not to the cabbage mix... The corned beef absorbs the flavour more and it just 'works better', I'm not sure why, but it does? 🇬🇧

    HEY chef Buck, my family is Puerto Rican and many of us Puerto Ricans eat corn beef with French fries and white rice. You should try it. We simply peel and cut potato into French fries and then we remove the french fries and keep a little bit of the oil in the pan from the french fries, then we throw the corn beef in the pan, we season it with Goya brand Sazon, then we add a little bit of the Goya sofrito, mix it together then throw in the french fries & mix it again and all done. Just take a plate and either put the corn beef mix on the side or on top of the rice. Try it, its amazing. Im sure if there are other Puerto ricans 🇵🇷 in the comments they will know what im talking about.

    I almost passed this week's video by because I've already been making a similar dish that Paula Deen made when she was on the Food Channel many years ago. I'm glad I watched and learned to sear the meat first separately. Brilliant! The dish is super inexpensive and easy to make but there was always something missing. So now I'm going to try it your way. 😋

    • @ChefBuckRecipes
      @ChefBuckRecipes  3 года назад +5

      I've tried a few times to make the dish all in one pot cooking everything together, but I just like it better when I add the meat at the end after I've cooked a lot of the water out of the cabbage...the texture and flavor of the meat just stands out more. In this vid, I sear the meat and then cut it in the pan so I've got some nice chunks, but then when I toss the meat with the cabbage, it still breaks apart a bit with the cabbage. One way I like to prepare this dish, is to actually make compact "meatballs" before searing them. Rolling the meat into balls takes a little more time, and the recipe practically tastes the same, but the dish looks a lot nicer.
