    • @jtg_slick1253
      @jtg_slick1253 2 года назад +14

      If it’s a lower opponent there’s no need for body shots that would just put you at a disadvantage. Aim for the head

      Weight distribution. You throw with your right, your left is meant to be your balance. Make sure your footwork is the same as your hook (wide enough to balance but not too wide) dont over extend

    • @Alchemist9572
      @Alchemist9572 Год назад +1

      My guess is you’re leaning in too much and you wobble over. Move with your hips, bend your knees, dont forward with your back.

    Love this video. I may be guilty of this area at times when wanting to speed up my combos. What would be a good tip to cover is the importance of how to maneuver with your hips, why they’re important in maneuverability and when to properly move the hips in certain movements such as for offense, defense, and getting a rhythm in your movements while circling around in the ring

    Hi from Manchester Tony, love your videos, I always try to keep something you've taught in mind when I train. Do you have any tips for developing more of a boxing mind? E.G. knowing what punches to throw when for instance or is that mainly learned through experiece? Thanks, Ravi

  • @universal_wisdom3416
    @universal_wisdom3416 3 года назад +15

    My problem is I put too much power behind my combos sometimes, calm and calculated with the jabs and crosses, but when I want to inflict some damage that’s when I find my legs crossing. I actually stop what I’m doing everytime I lose balance and look at my feet, almost always crossing my legs. Definitely something I need to work on.

  • @Dr.PlatoZorba
    @Dr.PlatoZorba 3 года назад

    Thank you for this. I now know two reasons why I can throw a straight right-hand without fully extending my right arm. If my memory serves, it's also to not punch the opponent's face out of the way so that it's easier to land another punch. Will you please consider doing a video on how to go forwards and backwards in a boxing stance while moving very quickly? I think there are at least two ways to do this. One looks like galloping and the other looks like sliding.

    Hi Tony when you’re throwing hook to body then hook to head, can you please explain the weight transfer ?
    I know it must be second nature to you by now (I ask after training about technique, the guys try to explain, but you explained it really well; when throwing the cross 60% weight on front leg 40% on back leg, then with the hook it’s the opposite.
    But when throwing body hook, does the body weight get transferred at all?
    Many thanks for your channel 😁

    • @rajapusapati1

      It’s about weight distribution on both legs, do it slowly till you get the rhythm and increase speed gradually. A lot of beginners try to go all in that’s where the go off balance. It take months and years to get rhythm and footwork. All the best 👍
