    a tip from a learner like you
    try to keep the faces quad at all possible times rather than triangular ones like in your model
    this makes the model look more cleaner and an even and finished surface

      I talked about that in a video but still thx, I will try to make more of them ✌🏼

    use the solidify modifier on your body panels individually and then adjust the gap that way

      @@blender_face yeah like using solidify and then using the bevel modifier can somtimes work really well to create gaps!

    Glad to be the 100th like, it makes me very happy to see progress coming from someone who has spent years to to simply just finish modeling the exterior, in a hard field modeling a considerably hard model, it is really good to see your progress, a few things to note, if you are modeling vehicles, typically I would still recommend modeling all quads however I do know that some parts just have to be tris , N-Gons are really bad, tris for some part not an issue, if you plan to model the interior etc I may recommend also using solidly modifier to have a frame going on (solidify then sub d as in modifier arrangement) whilst apply a small crease, solidify may not be a big deal for only blender renders but for video games, you need to use backface cuilling to make sure you model can be used for a game because video games can not render a plane from 2 sides, it needs to have a defined thickness.
    Glad you also made this in only 9 hours because people are slow, I can't understand people who say a car takes months to model, no, its you that is slow, a model doesn't need months, you need to learn how to model fast and maintain the same quality, don't conflate speed with quality, a fast model doesn't have to be §hi*, you learn to swim and you build up the pace, you don't swim like dogs, you learn to swim faster whilst increasing or maintaining quality, if you are looking to upgrade modeling hardware id recommend getting a good mouse or do like I do and get a drawing tablet, now they aren't made for modeling (they are for sculpting, etc) but you can setup it in a way in blender where you can use it as a mouse, etc whilst only need it and the keyboard (alt and shift) to move around, this is the workflow I go with as I find it putting less wrist stress which could affect your modeling, noting that we typically spend hours on hours modeling, this is a health risk, I still do use the mouse for most camera navigation because its faster but for modeling, id prefer the drawing tablet for accuracy and comfort, blender is great for texturing but I would also recommend maybe investing in substance painter to just have a bit more control on texturing.
    I really just told you years of what I learnt, I hope you learn from it too, the last tip and advice I would tell you is to invest time in hand practicing than content, ( I am into aviation ) 3d modeling is really just like flying, no matter how many books you read about flying, you will never beat someone who tried to fly and did fly without ever reading books, modeling is a hand skill which you improve by practice not knowledge, I did not say do not consume knowledge but hand practice is more important, try to tackle new models you never tied to do it before, learn how to use sub d and model hard-surface, etc, these things will make you better than ever, do not leave a model until you master it, to reach were I am right now the same car project I'm on , I have re modeled it over 32 times on the span of 6 months, each time I learnt something new or apply a different technique until I reached were I am right now.
    Learn to model fast whilst maintaining quality, learn to master a model and to re model if needed to make it better, invest in a drawing tablet if you can, tackle new projects, and do not feel scared to risk it or screw around, a lot of things I paid someone else to teach me I would have done my self If I just risked it or screwed around or took action to try.
    Keep pushing and I wish you the best ❣

    Its fun to see how other people struggle with their car models. I also had problem in the beginning but not these. My first model hat to bad topology too continue. My next car took 200h and I was able to finish that project. And now after 4 car models I can make a bosy in 3h

    Always nice to see a video of an intermediate modeler, not a Blender expert; and it was also nice that you kept in the mistakes along the way. My only feedback with the final model is the headlights don't seem right. The "tubes" leading to the headlights are sloped down in the real vehicle, but I think yours are a bit too straight and parallel with the ground. Combined with the sloping hood, it makes the lights look like they're curving upwards. Regardless, good work. I really liked the idea of drawing polygons on the reference photo. I'm going to use to hopefully finish a car model once and for all

    i think you could improve those renders by putting more shadow on the car to give more contrast becuase it looks super flat on everything. the model itself is really great.

    I don't think problem is in the model I think it's in the material and Presentation! Honestly you don't even need to replicate Physically accurate model CGI is all about cheating stuff! Like Computer don't calculate light like real life! Instead it starts from the camera and ends to the light source!😅 So for me perfect CGI is what feels real when move not trying to replicate "Physically accurate" that's the reason why dinosaurs look more CGI where as you can't differentiate between CGI and real in movie like "Blade 2" VFX of Tippet Studio you got it!

    • @blender_face
      @blender_face  10 месяцев назад

      Agreed, I also think that we as 3d artist some times need to cheat more. If it looks good, it doesn't matter if it's "Physically accurate". About the model, I also agree that I need to try to make a more "creative " render to "show my model from the best side". also thx for comment
