    Actually if you select a corner vertex as the last selection, blender will automatically calculate the best grid fill option (most of the time) so you don’t have to play around with the settings

    Huge tip i learned from somebody's short, you can reopen the context menu of an action by pressing F9 ( as long as you haven't made any other action in the meantime ( scaling / moving ). And Thank you for the tutorial, I've had so much trouble using the grid fill recently while working on my rx-7 fd.

      Good tip, I didn't know that. It would be 10x better if you could still open it after making other actions. Alignments would be so much easier.
      There must be a way to create this.

      @@ArijanRace every action has its own redo panel, so u can't redo an old action unless u go into undo history

    Great tip. I never knew the grid fill was capable of more than just filling flat surfaces such as cylinders or cubes.

      Maybe you already know this but the curve function under loop tools is also extremely powerful that works on building / rebuilding curvature. Great for cars or anything with a curved surface@@ArijanRace

    a minor tip: select the vertex in the corner when useing grid fill. that way blender will more often calculate everthing already correct and you dont have to count edges and fiddle around with the menu.

    So helpful. I much prefer a teacher who shows the useful tricks and tips to model rather than show the actaul modelling. Great tutorial man. Keep doing what you doing.

    So this method is how you build in nurbs modeling by setting up the UV spans of a surface. Whether it's a 3rd degree or 5th degree surface. This does allow lots of control and consistency of surface. Nice to see this approach adapted to polys.

      Making your own design is harder because it must be heavily premeditated. Winging it usually ends in a frustrating disaster, at least for me.

    Thank you for this tutorial! Tipp: If you do the grid Fill and your Menu disapers. You can Press F9 to show it again. So you dosent do the steps again only for the Menu. :)

    Knew about grid fill but it always gave some f'd up fill when i tried to use it on an irregular surface. Thanks for showing proper way to use it. Never realized when I clicked on the sub button😅

    Nope. You never try to model both sides of the car. You always mirror it. Specially the surfaces that span from one side to another. You only model the other side if it is meant to be different, like the side mirrors.

      Ah, I was confused because you mentioned a "vanishing fillet", which is an uncommon polygonal modeling term. :P Polygonal modeling complex curvature like cars is all about placing verts very carefully and deliberately in order to avoid surface imperfections. CG Masters has arguably the best car modeling tutorials if you're interested.@@gibson2623
