I'm a 17 year old that has been doing blender for a few years making architecture or modelling props out of passion, but i never realised you could make money doing this only quite recently. I must say thank you so much for this video, its so straightforward and direct, with no bs telling you exactly what you need to do to start making money. You are such a hidden gem and i genuinely cannot thank you more for this really helpful guide. While I'm still polishing my 3d modelling skills, i hope soon enough i can earn some income from doing 3d art as im also studying 3D. This was such a rare find, thank you for not gatekeeping this :)

More important than anything in this video is to know which 3D direction you want to go. Do you want to work as a 3D artist in the film industry? In games? Advertisement? Animation? Architecture? Do you want to be a 3d character artist? A hard surface artist? An environement artist? When you have the answer THEN you can start focusing on learning and consequently building the RIGHT PORTFOLIO for the right job. Why waste time learning to animate when all you want to do is vehicles or weapons? You can learn to animate them later, now it's not important. And NO, don't put your worse portfolio piece at the bottom - ALL pieces must be awesome. And lastly, it's better to have 3 awesome pieces than 9 mediocre ones. Good luck.
Dude you just wake me up bro and thanks for that, right now I'm working in a studio which i don't really like I tried to get job at another studio and I did not get it so I gave up but after watching this I'm going search again for a job I like. An opinion from the hiring side especially for game development. We've finally found an incredible artist for our small team after trying a few by testing with contract work, there's one thing we've been struggling to find that will make our lives significantly easier, and apparently it's a rare breed that's sought after, and that is a 3D artist that has very basic game engine know-how. To be able to create the asset, but also implement it into a ready-to-go prefab with no input from the devs is something that significantly improves the workflow in many projects, and something I wish was more widely found in artists. If you have this skill, make sure to mention it and make sure to show it off, it's valuable.
Good input. I would add that it helps a lot to look at the job posts requirements and learn some of those skills, at least at a basic level.

Hey Aryan just wondering if you can make a video or reply to my comment about the industry standard topic. For example I've had a professor who had worked at Nuaghty Dog and has been in the game industry for 24 years. (Had a sharp and straight forward persona similar to you) The professor was asked once by a classmate if he could use blender to turn in assignments but was told to avoid and forget using blender and get use to using industry stander such as Maya. (Our college provided Maya for the class) The classmate had dropped the class not wanting to pick up and learn Maya. I'm interested in getting a response from you on this topic mostly because I would like to use the knowledge learned in this video and connect it to my personal experience and just curious of what you would say. Love the videos and thank you for your dedication to educate and elevate as many of us as you possibly can. Ps Should I continue sharpening my skills with Maya or pick up blender? (No longer receive Maya for free sadly)

nothing external only addons are ones provided with blender, f2 and looptools are good ones to turn on, nodewrangler too

@@ArijanRace What about passing the restrictions in certain age restricted areas, if we are talking about documents and stuff when getting hired. And how to gain trust and respect from the one that hired you if you are underage.
@@BlenderSoloIt only depends on the people hiring you and their attitude towards youngsters. If they are exploitative persons they'll use your age as a leverage to bring you down, but older people may also be very proud and respectful of your progress. Some are very impressed by people from a younger generation putting the hard work, and you can also trigger the "he has the same age of my son" button. So you can't answer that question, is like being asked "I'm in a relationship with a woman, what will be her behaviour?". It totally depends on the person, some are respectful and trustworthy, others can't wait to party all night and cheat on you after a week since the engagement.

If you're under 18 and can't work a job because of some specific restriction, try freelance commissions, keep in mind some mf'ers will try and scam you thinking you're a soft target but if you've got meat between your ears you should be fine, if you got the right skillset try and get hired for commission work in game dev discords, unity unreal roblox godot whatever, find where the money goes and try and get a slice of that pie, this is just one idea one example but its a starting point
